September is also a great time to be in town for the Celebration of Seafood – a popular event for food lovers who come to enjoy the abundance of local seafood prepared by local chefs. Streaky Bay Back Beach

Drive just ten minutes from the Town Centre to the popular Surf Beach, which offers something for almost everyone. If you are into surfing, the back beach is renowned for its fantastic reef breaks. While families can enjoy swimming in the safety of the refreshing rock pools.

Yanerbie Sandhills

Take a short 20-minute drive south of Streaky Bay to the amazing Yanerbie Sandhills, a popular natural attraction where small kids and big kids can burn off some energy exploring the huge sand dunes. Murphy’s Haystacks

Take the short drive to see the amazing natural formation known as Murphy's Haystacks — a set of large granite rocks sticking out from the landscape. They are estimated to be over 1500 million years old and come in a range of shapes and colours, which creates a stunning scene. Bring some extra layers and stay around the Stacks for the sunset to see the horizon turn beautiful shades around them.
