Notso Hostel Brazil Room

KoryRating, 5 stars4 days ago
I really enjoyed staying here. it was really easy to self check in with very clear instructions. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The room's temperature was set and not able to be adjusted by me, but the ceiling fan fixed this because I prefer it a bit cooler when sleeping. The bathroom was good, but be warned, the shower is pretty small for a big guy like me. The shared kitchen was convenient and I could see where others have complained about the noise because the historic walls are not thick. I was blessed with very considerate neighbors, so I never needed the earplugs I had brought. The free parking was a huge bonus, because parking in Charleston is difficult. My favorite part was the big old porch. I sat in one of the cushioned rockers and never wanted to leave. The hostel is a bit farther from the major sites, but rideshare was surprisingly inexpensive. I highly recommend this place.

Loved our stay here at Notso’s! Needed a place to stay for the night and wanted something close to all the great attractions and this is what Nosto’s offered. Very affordable and overall clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

The Goldman Room @ The Annex

Notso Hostel was a lovely landing pad for my time in Charleston! The room was cozy and comfortable, and the host was very friendly and responsive. Despite there being several rooms in the house, it was very quiet and calm. One of the major selling points was the hostel’s proximity to King Street—I was able to walk everywhere around downtown! If you are looking for a cozy, historic, cost-effective option for your trip to Charleston, I strongly recommend Notso Hostel! :)

Notso Hostel Kenya Room

MarijaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed in the Kenya room. There were three of us and one of us had to sleep on the futon. We chose this room because our friend is tall and the picture shows a futon that doesn't have sides, but in reality the futon has sides - so our friend had to crouch down to fit. Also, we only got two towels instead of three. Despite that our experience was good. The porch is beautiful and the accommodation is very close to the center. The host is kind and allowed us to leave the car in his parking lot after check-out.

Great stay. Clean, easy, and priced well. Checkin and checkout were a breeze and the included free parking was a huge plus. Everything nearby within a couple minutes walk. Would stay again.

The Monet Room @ The Annex

Great location- everything is walking distance and it's close to the free city bus. Check in and out was easy, and the place was clean. They have two bathrooms, I didn't have to wait to use the shower or anything. This specific room is next to the kitchen, faces a side street, and the blinds don't keep out the strong porch light. There was a little bit of street noise and I could hear other guests in the kitchen (nothing unreasonable, just walking and normal talking). It didn't bother me. It looked like they also had rooms upstairs facing away from the street so if a little noise and light bothers you maybe get a different room.
