Cottage holiday rentals in Scottish Highlands

My best friend and I rented the place to celebrate our birthday with some beautiful countryside and a hot tub, it really exceeded our expectations. We had issues turning the hot tub on and off again but in terms of using it was perfect. All the amenities were in great working order and beds were very comfortable. Would recommend for families as well with the massive garden and barbecue:)

Our stay at the cottage was fabulous. Gorgeous location with lots of lovely walks. The cottage was immaculate, impeccably designed with all of your home comforts. A really perfect, cosy space. Will definitely be back.

Perfect cottage for a quiet getaway! The space was exactly as it was advertised. Very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very helpful and friendly, all information clearly communicated before our stay. Couldn’t recommend enough if you’re looking for a relaxing couple of nights away!

We booked a weekend at Braeside for a wee break away & it couldn't have been better! Homely space in a nice rural location with the added bonus of having a hot tub (we were lucky enough to have two clear nights to soak under a beautiful starry sky with plenty to shooting stars to be seen). The cottage was comfy, clean & had everything we needed, thankyou Vivienne for having us!

Lovely house in beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful hosts. We all enjoyed the hot tub and pool as well as surrounding countryside and trip into Glasgow. Very cosy and comfortable house. Thoroughly recommend

We where fortunate enough to have a great week in Gary's place. The cottage itself was nice and cosy for the evenings, with the log fire being specially appreciated. The hottub was a generous size and a great way to relax after a long walk.

Brett's cottage is outstanding. The surroundings were tranquil. wish I had the time to explore more whilst staying in the cottage as Shandwick was so lovely. Would recommend this little piece of serenity to anyone looking to explore the north Highlands.

We absolutely adored our stay here. It was very comfortable and cozy, felt like home instantly. Walking distance to a wonderful restaurant that had been recommended. Boot Cottage is such a lovely place. It is so cosy inside, yet with plenty space too. The hosts have thought of everything; from Pintrest worthy decorating all the way to the everyday basics. The cottage is in such an ideal location- it is cutely tucked-in off the main road, with beautiful views of the hills, birds, and garden. You can walk to the shops within 10-15mins max or drive the couple of minutes. Big shops (Tesco and Lidl) are easy to get to, as well as lovely smaller shops and takeaways. Parking was always available on the road next to the cottage. Couldn't fault the cottage at all and would love to stay there again. Laura was kind and friendly to speak to, and very responsive.

we love visiting Aviemore, and this cottage was a perfect base for our adventures this year. plenty of space, and enclosed garden for our dog to explore.

We had a lovely stay at Rowan Cottage. It’s very close to Aviemore and the surrounding villages, but still maintains its charm and peacefulness. The cottage is surrounded by breathtaking landscape and an infinite number of walks to enjoy. The cottage itself was warm, cosy and very welcoming. It has all of the amenities you could need! We felt right at home within minutes of arriving. If you’re staying with a dog that doesn’t have great recall (like ours) I’d recommend taking a longline as the garden is not enclosed and some cars do pass quite quickly (although this shouldn’t come as a surprise as it’s mentioned in Cats listing). The rest of the cottage is very doggie friendly and the hosts even left out a blanket and bowls. We would recommend Rowan Cottage to anyone visiting the Cairngorms.

This was my third stay here and won’t be the last, everything you will need for a stay is provided, host is excellent and very responsive, just a short drive away from Edinburgh and Glasgow so good and central for exploring.

Have stayed in cottage several times, love it. Had a great catch up with old workmates in very cosy setting.

This cottage was exactly what I was hoping for. They thought of all the most important touches to make it cosy and like a home away from home. Hosts were responsive and even thought of small touches that made us feel so welcome. The views in the area were stunning and all the recommendations for food and things to do were on point. My time in the UK is over soon but I might have to make one more trip before I leave. It was just that restorative!

We had an amazing stay! The hot tub was the highlight of the stay. Amazing location with superb views. We all had a very relaxing weekend☺️

Jill was a fantastic host and really made our stay perfect. I had a number of questions before arriving at the cottage which she answered promptly! The cottage is lovely inside, super clean and kitted out with everything we needed. There’s a lovely window seat and table that overlooks the quarry - the perfect reading and writing nook! As the island has no cars on it we made sure to bring what we needed (groceries) with us, but after realising we left an essential item behind (and the last ferry of the day had gone) Jill was incredible, going out her way to help - along with Allan who lives on the island. It saved our trip and also just made us feeling very looked after to know there were people around who could help! We wandered round the islands, went for a quick dip in the swimming quarry, had hot chocolate in the puffer and overall had a wonderful weekend winding down. Would highly recommend!

Stayed for 3 nights with my dog. Holmhead exceeded my expectations and I felt instantly at home. The location is superb and perfect for exploring the Cairngorms or even just stepping outside the front door and being in the forest. The cottage is extremely well equipped for its size and I found a few things, for guests use, that I wasn't quite expecting, (hot water bottles :) ). The brand new electric heating is very effective and the log burner is 'ferocious', but definitely a must when temperatures were below freezing. Cat is a very gracious, accommodating and genial host. I would definitely stay here again and recommend thoroughly.

We had a wonderful stay at this house! It was spacious, very cozy, and exceptionally clean. The house was fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. There were plenty of clean towels, a variety of cookware for preparing meals, and even a selection of spices. A special thank you to the hosts for the lovely gift basket, it was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel truly welcomed. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back!

Our second stay of the year at this exquisite wee cottage, this time surrounded by the beauty of autumn. The cottage has everything you need, thoughtfully arranged. Owner Briony is friendly and helpful. Perfect, quiet location with so many gorgeous walks nearby. Ate at Andersons in Boat of Garten, recommended. Will definitely return again to Sycamore cottage.

We had such a lovely week in the Scottish Highlands; the house was warm and cosy, and allowed plenty of room for our family of 5. The setting in the regenerating forest was beautiful with views out to the nearby mountains. We were lucky enough to have dustings of snow during our stay. Would highly recommend this property for anybody who wants to stay off the beaten track but still wants an easy drive to an array of local attractions. Thank you for having us!
