Barn accommodation in Scotland

One of our top two stays in Scotland! Gorgeous location, fabulous kitchen where you could actually cook if you were so inclined, and full of charm.

Super break staying in Tracy & Rolys cottage. It really is a warm and comfortable place set in beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately the weather was challenging so we ended up spending more time indoors than we would have liked but that really didn’t matter as the cottage was a real home from home stocked with books and games which we enjoyed. We will definitely return to explore the surrounding countryside in hopefully better weather. We’ve stayed in many cottages and this is right up near the top!

Pauline has created a beautiful little place, very peaceful and relaxing. Was perfect for my short trip as a birthday surprise for my partner. The host went above and beyond to make it special by putting up birthday banners and leaving a birthday cake on arrival for us.

Lovely house in beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful hosts. We all enjoyed the hot tub and pool as well as surrounding countryside and trip into Glasgow. Very cosy and comfortable house. Thoroughly recommend

A feeling of home instantly. The Hayloft was warm and inviting from beginning to end and Dorothy was the most accommodating host. The guide provided was brilliant for recommendations as Dorothy was herself. The surroundings were breathtaking and not a far drive to countless other ones. 100/10!

This was our third visit here and it is still such a wonderful place to escape to. We love how cosy and modern the space is as well as its excellent location to explore the Black Isle and beyond. Louise and Donald are fantastic hosts and so friendly, it’s like catching up with old friends. We brought our 14 month old with us on this visit and the open play layout and underfloor heating was ideal for her to roam safely and warmly, even in a brisk February. Already planning trip number 4!

Lovely weekend stay for myself, my husband and our dog. Alison was very friendly and responsive to our messages. Cosy cottage located in a picturesque little village.

We are a family of four with two young girls and felt right at home from the moment we walked in. A very lovely and comfortable cottage, well equipped and Maddie kindly left us milk in the fridge and delicious biscuits on arrival. It's a quick 40 mins to glenshee ski centre and we were lucky enough to have snow. The kids loved sledding and having a winter hike. The cottage is set in a lovely peaceful area near the river amongst blueberry and cherries trees, sadly as we came in winter they were not in bloom but you can tell how magnificent it would have been. Would recommend!

We’ve had the most fantastic stay. The house is spacious, beautiful and very comfortable. The games room was a great surprise with something for all ages. We would 100% recommend this house. Thank you Jade for making booking and communication so easy.

10/10 in all aspects! Came in to the AirBNB with the fire on and home nice and comfortable, nice touches and treats (homemade cupcakes were divine!) and lovely Christmas decorations also, it was really nice to spend time around Christmas at an Airbnb with a Christmas tree! The house was scrupulously clean!! Easily the best airbnb we’ve stayed! Lovely home, thoughtfully refurbished barn, with high standard of finishings The host was lovely always checking in but without disturbing - and even offered to prepare the wood fire while we were out for the day Dog enjoyed the large garden and peaceful surroundings Couldn’t have asked for better and we will definitely return

Great little cottage for a trip away , extremely clean and modern perfect if you’re looking for somewhere not too far from Belfast and close to the glens will definitely be back.

The reviews did not lie! Pat and Neil were extremely welcoming and helpful when it came down to suggesting local walks, places to eat etc. We would really recommend the Aira force/Ullswater walk! They also introduced their dog Bob to our nervous dog which ensured our girl had a much more relaxing and enjoyable time. The barn was very spacious with a gorgeous fire which made for a very cosy feel. The bed was exactly what everyone had described it as, extremely comfy! The garden was lovely and big which extended the enjoyment of our dog. The whole barn was spotless and we couldn’t fault a thing inside. We would really recommend this stay and hope to return again in the not so distant future. Thanks once again Pat and Neil :)

The location around was very picturesque. The barn was lovely and homely, with lots of helpful information on the area around and things to do. Highly recommend staying here if you want a good base location for the peaks, lakes or even Scotland boarder! I also recommend the local national trust sites around.

Eve communicated really well. The Airbnb was immaculate, warm, spotlessly clean, and nicely decorated for Christmas. Also just a short walk from Cockermouth town centre which was perfect for us. Overall was amazing and we’d definitely stay again.

If you are looking for a place to get away from the world this place is ideal. Perfectly situated to explore Northumberland or go to Newcastle. A really modern clean interior but feels very homely and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped which is rare to find. Kelly is a fantastic host very tentative with out intruding checking in throughout my stay ensuring everything was okay. The guidebook that is provided is excellent and well worth looking at. I will definitely be keeping this on my list to book again!

This is the 2nd time staying at Emma’s , I stayed last year around the same time. The cottage is tucked away in the countryside not far from Penrith and the M6 motorway, it’s such a peaceful location. When I got there just after 3pm the cottage was warm and very cleans, in fact spotless !. The kitchen and bathroom use quality fittings and the walk in shower is wonderful (I must get one in my home). The bed is very nice, the mattress is perfect has is the bedding. The tv is small but has a brilliant picture and has a hdmi port for a streaming stick if you have one also the DAB radio is great . The biggest surprise is the speed of the wifi I got about 450mbps down and the same up, not what you expect in the countryside !. Emma left me a pint of milk,bread, homemade cake and a bottle of wine. Last year I stayed 3 nights but this time I stayed 5 nights which tells you everything !

Great location and perfect accommodation for a family get together- 8 of us in total so used one apartment to gather in. Very clean and lovely apartments. Also had all utensils and crockery you need to get away- great to have irons/ironing boards in every room. This is great value for money and we would highly recommend and look forward to coming to stay again ❤️❤️❤️

We had a wonderful stay really comfortable lots of space great kitchen comfy beds everything we needed in a chill family break. We had a lovely weekend thank you.

We stayed over a cold December weekend and the place was stunning. Whether walking on the wild moors or snuggling in front of the log burner we were very happy with our choice to stay here. There were plenty of nice touches, including the tasty bread and eggs. We'd love to come back!

Absolutely fantastic little spot to chill out. We came with our little one, a cot was put out and there's a highchair and plates to use. Amazing! The place itself was perfect, big enough to be spacious for the 3 of us, but also really cosy with the log burner going. Everything about this place is spot on. Can't wait to come again!

Maida's place is beautiful and we spent a great weekend there with my family earlier this month. The barn conversion is spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. There are incredible views of the surrounding mountains and some lovely forest walks on the doorstep. A great place to escape to!
