Nicolson Cottage @Mackenzie House - Explore NC500

DanielaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We loved the place, and is actually better than it looks in the pictures. A lovely cottage , very spacious and well located. Clancy is a lovely host, very responsive and recommended places for us to visit. Checked in with us to ensure we were settled, got us milk and eggs and little treats, which we found extremely thoughtful and useful considering we were visiting just before Christmas. Would highly recommend this place, the village is small but nice and easily walkable. Drivable distance from Inverness, Ullapool, Loch Ness and other places. Would happily stay again.

Mullardoch House: Pure Wilderness Bliss

PatrickRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Mullardoch House and its location is gorgeous! It was an amazing memory in a truly unique home and setting. It’s historic, serene, comfortable, and simply breathtaking. The beds were comfortable and spacious, the living spaces charming with incredible views, the dining room regal and a fully stocked kitchen. It’s modern enough to be comfortable/convenient while still being old enough to have that original look/feel. You adjust the radiators to turn heat up/down in each room, light the stove, and take a few minutes to figure out hot/cold water for the shower-tubs. Noemi was a wonderful communicator with directions and welcoming. There was one issue with the water (drinking) while we were there, but it appears temporary (and I hadn’t read anything else similar in other reviews) and Noemi communicated about it timely and provided a work around while we were there. You have to be prepared for the drive to reach this incredible spot of heaven, but that is the whole point here. Love it!

East Lodge

AlexanderRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The lodge was unbelievably beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice. Felt like a dream and the host was great. Made sure we had what we needed for a peaceful and pleasant stay. Probably one of the best views we’ve had while enjoying our breakfast. Would absolutely recommend East Lodge and will have to come back

Garden Cottage with hot tub, castle & sea views

StephanieRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Katie’s place was absolutely stunning! We travelled from Australia with another couple and we were blown away with her attention to detail. Everything was well thought out and considered, right down to the country crockery. It exceeded our expectations! Thank you!!

Lochside Luxury

BlairRating, 5 stars3 months ago
An incredibly beautiful location with amazing views down Loch Rannoch. The house itself is lovely. The kitchen is big and well equipped, and the dining area spacious. The two big fridges and freezers meant that you can stock up properly and avoid the shops. The living room, with wood burning stove, is super cosy. All the bedrooms are well appointed (the beds are very comfortable), and having two en suite bathrooms is great. The hotel is a really easy walk and the Wild Brownie pub has lovely food and very friendly staff. The delivery from Tescos worked exceptionally well too. The location is spectacular with lovely walks and exquisite drives. The drive to Aberfeldy is particularly magnificent (although icy currently). We had the happiest time over New Year with plenty of space to chill and play games and cook as a family. We are all keen to return.

Cartref House - a short stroll from Loch Ness

RenataRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We loved Julie’s place! Location was perfect, walking distance to everything in Fort Augustus and a great base from which to explore the Highlands. The house is beautiful, incredibly comfortable and very spacious for the 6 of us. Julie provided a great welcome with treats and even crackers ready for our Christmas meal. The kitchen is very well equipped. Nice garden and plenty of space for parking. Very highly recommended, would love to come back.

The Classrooms, Loch Ness Abbey, Pool & Spa

MicaelaRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Me and my parents booked this place for a night on the way to isle of skye and had the most amazing experience. The airbnb itself was way bigger than expected and was extremely clean. And then the grounds around it were even nicer. I was initially drawn in by the pool but we ended up spending the whole night in the billiard room that’s in the old refractory. The staff at the club is super nice and gives you a tour explaining all the history of the place while showing you to the room. Fort Augustus is also a really cute town to explore. overall the best place I’ve stayed so far in Scotland!!

Gruinyards - Loch Ness look-out

C.R.Rating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Great stay at a very family friendly location (great for young children). Very charming location and amazing history if you are into that sort of thing. Host was extremely responsive and helpful. We had one minor hiccup that we resolved very quickly (not at all the host’s fault) and he got back to our inquiry within the half hour. If you are exploring the Great Glen or Loch Ness, I cannot think of a better place to base out of.

Albaplace Pitlochry

JemimahRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Gorgeous apartment in a perfect location for seeing Pitlochry and the surrounding area. It has a well equipped kitchen and the living space was very cosy with the wood fire. Our host, Mairi was lovely, quick to respond and even gave us extra firewood for the second night. We all thought it was brilliant, thank you very much!

We had a wonderful stay at Rose's place. Fabulous place, cosy and great location. I loved star watching from the skylight in the bedroom! Lovely finishing touches of decor, fab kitchen, extremely comfy bed and very warm apartment despite the thick snow and minus temperatures outside. Will return again in the future if we can. Definitely recommend 100%

Lovely family cottage in beautiful surroundings! Well equipped, comfortable and cosy cottage within the stunning grounds of St Benedict’s abbey. Waterfront Farmhouse with Hot Tub by Loch Ness

CindyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a wonderful stay at this charming farmhouse located on a peaceful estate right next to the canal — perfect for a stroll and a bit of fresh air. The house was absolutely perfect for us: cozy, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The location was ideal — tucked away down a quiet country road, which made it feel like a true getaway, yet still very convenient for exploring Inverness, Loch Ness, and nearby castles. After our adventures, we even enjoyed a cozy fire one evening, which made the space feel even more inviting. Our host was excellent — easy to reach and very responsive, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for better weather — clear skies the entire time — and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful countryside charm while still being close to town. Highly recommend!

Rowan Cottage, CrannachCottages

HelenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
There are three cottages at this site and we have now stayed in two of them. Both beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Alex and Bart, who own them, are very responsive - literally minutes to get a reply to queries. Super quiet location. We usually come here for the Strathpuffer bike event but honestly, I'd stay in any of these cottages if I just wanted a peaceful, luxurious getaway.

Carnoch Cottage

KateRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay at the cottage was a much needed break from our busy city lives. The cottage is close to the middle of nowhere which was just what we were looking for. The scenery is gorgeous and there are a lot of walks nearby with interesting flora and fauna to look at. The cottage was simple (which we were also looking for as we have a small child who is apt to get into everything), but it had everything you could possibly need. It was cosy but still felt spacious at the same time.

Rowan Cottage Highland retreat near Fort William

KyraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great place - hard to get to at night if you have a bigger car since there's about a 3 mile stretch from the main road to get here through farmlands, but you're going to Scotland for that reason right? It comfortably fit 6 people and everything was great. Wonderfully cosy den and sky-light room that made it beautiful to spend time in after a long day of hikes.

Charming cottage in a truly special spot

HenryRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had an amazing time at East Lodge & Shona was an amazing & helpful host. We felt right at home the moment we entered the property. Although we had a couple of issues finding the property due to arriving later than we anticipated and working out the heating, Shona was there to reply to our messages straight away and sort any issues we had. It is a perfect location if you want to travel to different areas of the Highlands and explore. We would love to visit again. Thank you for an amazing stay Shona.
