Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Pointe aux Canonniers

Had a pleasure to stay for almost a month at Geraldine's lovely countryside house (or "barn", as the name suggests). The location of the house is hard to beat: it's on the second line from the ocean, surrounded by lovely mansions and right in front of the kite surfing school. Geraldine has managed to accommodate all our requests in an expedite manner and did not leave us in problem, despite certain complications in the village of Grand Gaube. Please bear in mind that Grand Gaube is a fairly authentic Mauritian village, not yet invaded by tourist crowds - as a result, certain amenities regular for big cities are missing here (e.g. a breakfast spot with decent coffee, a modern co-working space, etc.) - thus, renting a car would be a sensible choice.

Julien’s house was beautiful! The garden leads directly to the beach and we watched amazing sunsets from there . The kitchen was well equipped and the house was spotless . The area is quiet and peaceful . Julien was very responsive and dealt with our questions quickly . All in all, the perfect, relaxing stay !

From start to finish our stay was perfect! Bobby and Venise welcomed us on arrival and made us feel at ease. They had left milk, tea, coffee etc so we didn’t have to rush to get supplies. The house is clean, well kept and comfortable with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. There is on site security and automatic gates to access the site. Bobby even brought us new garden chairs for the beach as the old ones were a little rusty! Beach towels are supplied and there is a swimming pool on site. There are plenty of things to do locally in Grand Baie with bars and restaurants, shops, street food stalls and of course fantastic beaches within a very short drive. We highly recommend Venise and Bobby as hosts and the accommodation is first class!

Our stay at this place exceeded our expectations! The photos don’t fully capture the atmosphere-it’s even better in person. The home is in a private complex and felt very safe. There was plenty of space for our family, and enough room to work. Most evenings, we took a short 5-minute walk to the beach to enjoy the stunning sunsets. The large pool was a fantastic bonus, perfect for relaxing. We spent a full month here and truly enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and private getaway!

We spent 13 nights in Valisha's house. We were hosted very well. The house is very nice, it matches the photos perfectly and it is very well-equipped. The pool and garden are made every day Valisha and her family live right next door but they are absolutely discreet. We had the pleasure of enjoying a very nice meal made by our host. Valisha kindly offered to arrive directly into the house when we left the airport, this small detail is extremely nice and good after a long trip. You can go there with your eyes closed, you won't be disappointed.

We are regulars of Mauritius and this stay is the best! The Villa is quiet, no noise (just the birds and the sound of the wind in the palm trees) and at the end of the street the Wynners supermarket and the beach a few minutes walk away. The Villa is spacious, tastefully decorated, the materials are of quality and the bedding is perfect. There are all the kitchen amenities needed for a stay like home (even the Christmas tree). Hosts Dean and Tanya are lovely, incredibly kind and available to answer any questions. We were even invited by Dean who has 2 great restaurants in Pereybere, we had the privilege of discovering the delicious food that is served, Thai and Mauritian cuisine. You can go there without a second thought. One regret for us, that we didn't stay longer. Thank you so much Dean and Tanya thanks to you we have unforgettable memories as a family.

The accommodation is simple but everything necessary is available. Beautiful Mon Choisy Beach is 2 minutes walking distance. Great for swimming. Restaurants, shopping all nearby. Also on the beach many snack bars. But the best thing about the place is Keith and Kami and we took them to heart. Always available, good tips and above all a big heart for the many street dogs that they lovingly take care of. The accommodation is also very well located for excursions. When we come back to Mauritius we will definitely stay with Keith & Kami again. Thanks again for the wonderful days at your place!!

We loved our time at Coastal View Apartments. the Apartment is comfortable, well-equipped and in very close proximity to the beach. We spent two glorious weeks soaking up the sun. Winners Supermarket is about a 10-minutes walk whichnis very convenient. Jean was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions. We hope to be back again soon.

Toshav managed everything very well, he was a reliable point of contact in case of problems. Condition of the apartment was ok.

The apartment and the entire complex are just perfect: easy and uncomplicated communication with the hosts, clean, well located and equipped with everything you need. We also could check out late because of our flight without having to pay extra. Thank you for a wonderful week with you!

The apartment is peaceful, quiet but too big for 2 people Norbert is really a simple guy, kind and was responsive to our wishes , when you have a problem you called him, always available . The only trump that has bothered me: the lesards on all the greens , but as you say: you are in a warm country so it's normal. Other than that , I didn't criticise 2-3 things that were still there but I told Norbert directly.

Nice peaceful apartment along the beach. Its in a pretty relaxed area so you will need to rent a car to get around for day activities. Has all the necessities to start you off on your holiday!

Stayed at Geoffray's apartment for a full month It was an amazing stay we felt very much at home as soon as we arrived It's just a 5 minute stroll to a lovely beach and easy access to local buses . there's a local min market just up the road or a short bus ride to a very large supermarket for a bigger shop should you need it Geoffray's Mum & Dad were so lovely very helpful and on hand should you need anything We would highly recommend a stay here it really was the best Thanks again for an amazing stay Pete & Greg

We stayed at Devi's apartment for 3 weeks and everything was perfect from our arrival to our departure. The apartment is modern, bright, functional, secure and super clean. Devi is a beautiful person, welcoming, considerate, generous who cares about the well-being of his hosts as well as super responsive in case of problems. We can only highly recommend Devi's apartment. We'll be happy to go back. We recommend you to rent a car to explore the island. Thanks again Devi for your hospitality!

Our stay with Laurent and his wonderful family exceeded all expectations. The home was impeccably clean, peaceful, and ideally located. Each morning, I enjoyed working on the serene patio, which was perfect for staying productive during this working vacation. The fresh breeze and tranquil surroundings made it an inspiring place to start the day. In the evenings, we loved walking to the nearby beach for dinner, discovering a variety of restaurants—10 nights wasn’t nearly enough to try them all! During our stay, I had an unexpected mishap and needed to visit the hospital for stitches. Laurent and his kind-hearted daughter didn’t hesitate to assist. They personally took me to the hospital and helped communicate my needs, turning what could have been a stressful situation into a manageable one with their generosity and support. I can’t imagine a better place to call home on this beautiful island. We can’t wait to return and experience Laurent’s and his warm hospitality again.

Very very nice home in quiet and beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come again if we are going to Mauritius.

The penthouse apartment is spacious and has three bedrooms, each with its own attached bathroom/toilet. The biggest bedroom also has a spacious terrace. Meals with several people can be taken outside on the balcony at the dining table available there, but it was quite warm during our stay. The pool is great and in the sea you will find great coral benches if you swim a little further out. We did not identify dangerous currents. There are many sea urchins near the shore, so you should be careful.

We stayed 10 days in this lovely private residence. The residence is very quiet, peaceful and very well maintained. It has a large swimming pool and direct access to the beef bath beach. The pool is lovely but lacks a little cleaning or equipment available to remove the leaves. Parking is easy in front of the unit with its private space. Regarding the location: Great bay and pereybere are very close and easy to access. The place is perfect for 2 people and optimized in terms of configuration. There is everything you need, even washing machine and dryer. Antuya is very available and very responsive. The residents are lovely and talk easily. We hope to be back with our children soon in the top home she also owns.
