Sunita's Homestay

MayraRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Sunita's homestay was just incredible. We had a really great time, good and lots of local food and warm blankets. Sunita and her son showed us around and we did day hikes to the surrounding villages. We really felt at home and didn't want to leave Maybe good to know: Either you have to take a jeep to Manang (around 7 hours and 30 dollars per person) or you plan to stay there during your Annapurna circuit. The village lies on 3500 m and I would bring enough cash and warm clothes. We took the jeep from beshi shahar and had incredible views. Also be ready to enjoy some days without wifi (they do have it but only in some places and it doesn't work so well). But honestly if you stay in such a location, you should enjoy the smartphone free days. In addition, you should be ready for a bucket-shower which also didn't bother us. It all contributed to an authentic local experience. Lastly, the prices are a bit more expensive in the village, if you eat lunch, so also be prepared for that.

This Airbnb surely has to be up there with the best in the world. As you look out the door in the morning you’re greeted by a monastery across the valley, lying on green slopes that go up as far as you can see. Stepping out the door, you see the sun beginning to rise behind the mountain in front of you, and all the waving golden poplar trees scattered by the village in the distance. To the right is a river cascading from snowy peaks, and beneath it the temple where the eternal flame is kept, and the white gravestones of the Lamas. As you walk out of the Airbnb, you see yourself surrounded by snowy mountains, on a high shelf that’s a flat shrubby plain reminiscent of an old cowboy film. You can see clouds floating below you in the distance just beyond. Tips: -Get a Nepal phone sim -Bus/Jeep>Muktinath>taxi>Jhong>walk bnb -⚡️=usb charging slot+2 light bulbs -Water from mountain (they’ll show you) -Buy food to cook in Muktinath (walk) -COLD at night -🚫Mastercard=use ATM in Jomsom BEFORE

Astam Cottage

BalwinderRating, 5 stars13 months ago
I am Balli from J&K, India. Undoubtedly the best stay ever I have found that places you right in the middle of serene nature. Waking up to a splendid sunrise, watching Annapurna's snow capped peaks that change shades with the changing phases of the day, bonfire in the clear glowing sky on top of the mountain, night view of a town right in front of you below the mountain all leaves you speechless. The host is a former trekking guide. He has jolly and lively nature. Grateful for everything.

Cabin in the Himalaya: A Home

DeepthiRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Booking this place was one of the best decisions of our trip. Totally loved the place and the views. Mr.G was super helpful. The kitchen was well stocked. Everything Made our stay so memorable. We liked the place so much that we ended up extending our trip and staying an extra day. My two golden retriever dogs enjoyed the fenced space. The stream flowing right across the property made my dog super happy! I know it may appear expensive compared to other options in Muktinath but once you stay there you will realise it’s worth every penny you pay and more! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

I had the best, most relaxing, time at Mahakuruna! I was doing a mix of working, hiking, relaxation. The place has a very nice construction, is tastefully decorated, and has nice additions like a wood fire and bath for if it gets a bit chilly. The view from the front door is also spectacular. Honestly, something that made the trip super simple and really elevated it was using Arun there (probably the only airbnb that comes with a chef 😆). All of the meals he cooked were both very healthy and delicious. I enjoyed every one. Walking down into the valley via all the villages was great. I would also recommend the hike up to Pitam Deurali that takes about 4hrs round trip. Add on Australian base camp too if you want to hike a bit longer, but be sure to take the route avoiding Pothana though, as there is a permit checkpoint there. I'm by no means advocating to skip getting a permit - if you wish to hike further afield, definitely get one! (from KTM or Pokhara in advance)

Villa with mountain view 20mins from main area.

ManishaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We 5 of us friends stayed here for almost 4 days, beautiful place and we could see ranges in the morning when the weather was clear. Rooms were clean, well maintained, food was amazing. Only thing we want to improve them to provide more clean towels and hot water shower on the ground floor was not working properly. Anamika and Pramod were great hosts, we did river rafting, Poon hill Trek, hot air balloon and all these activities were arranged by them, they suggested us the lakeside places. Transport was arranged as an when required, really thankful to them. Because of them our vacation was stress free and more enjoyable. Already have recommended this place to my friends and would definitely like to meet you whenever you are in Mumbai.

Pokhara is beautiful but your stay in Pokhara will be enhanced by living with this wonderful family. Their warmth and hospitality goes way beyond accommodation and food. Every one in the family is amazing and a delight to be with. The house has stunning views and is away from the hustle bustle of the main city. I look forward to staying with them again.

Hamro Ghar

Bring your family to Hamro Ghar with lots of room for fun. Hamro Ghar is a 5min walk either from MatriShishu Hospital or Bindabasini School. Aunty Bhagwati is a great chef, which you will find out soon. The house is in a basic village set up and is clean and tidy. It is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a haven for those who wish to keep themselves fit - take a walk up Gharmi Danda or to Kaali Khola (the stream below). Ask uncle Keshav to guide you. Be ready to walk.
