This hidden gem is full of beautiful surprises! The chalet perfectly balances modern and traditional comforts, making us feel as if we were living in the Edo period. Our one-night stay left us wishing for a couple more days to fully experience everything it has to offer. Matt and staff were incredible hosts, providing fascinating history lessons about the artifacts on the property. I highly recommend this place—it's even more stunning in person than in the pictures. Definitely worth a visit!

This is a fabulous luxury stay. The space has been outfitted with the highest attention to detail. The experience is marvellous - Victoria can take you on a tour of the temple and give a bit of her husband’s family history. It was a little tricky to find initially (buy putting the temple in as the destination put us on the right track) and Victoria was in constant communication. It is within very close proximity to the Takachiho Gorge and a wealth of natural beauty. If you just want to chill the area is rural and very peaceful. We had the first night to ourselves and then shared with a very respectful group from Taiwan. Can thoroughly recommend.

Lovely renovated farmhouse with such comfortable bedding and delicious locally sourced food cooked by our gracious host Fusako (everything was so good! and special shout out to the family homemade miso :). A great place to relax, pause and breathe- the surrounding farms and nature of Kunisaki are so beautiful and peaceful that people should visit and take their time here.

From the moment we arrived we nestled into a hidden, farmland cabin. Perfect retreat. Kaoru-San was the best host we could have asked for. She spoke some english, which helped with our little japanese. The cabin was humble and beautiful. We did the enzyme bath and the massage. A must try. It's said to have plenty of healing properties. We will never forget how she allowed our dog to enjoy the enzyme experience. We always looked forward to Kaoru's delicious home cooked meals. All breakfast, lunch, and dinner were made with care and the taste justified it. For our last night's dinner we had a french cousine made by a Chef. Plenty of food, and a culinary experience. Lastly, an unforgettable massage by Hannah — relaxing and spiritual, a beautiful voice. I booked this place on a whim and thought it was going to be much different than what it turned out to be. If I had to summerize my experience I would end it with the Idea of "Quietness and Shanti (Peace)". We will remember.

The whole experience was very pleasant when we stayed at this Airbnb!The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities and made us feel welcome.Conveniently located with many restaurants and shops nearby with easy access.We had a memorable vacation here and will definitely be staying here again next time!Highly recommended! Check in at four is a bit late though, it would have been better to have luggage storage

The place was clean and cozy It was good for 2 adults and 3 children to use It was nice that you provided towels comfortably.

We thoroughly enjoyed Junko’s place. Great location with great views. The actual home is also well designed and we really enjoyed the space and every room. What stood out the most was Junko and her family’s hospitality. She provided us with great recommendations and was even able to arrange for me to get a much needed haircut! We would recommend this Airbnb to future guests
