Holiday rentals with a fireplace in North Shields

Just had a lovely weekend here. The space was spotless with tasteful decor and comfy furnishings throughout. It’s a great base for walking in the Durham Dales. Clare was so communicative and helpful throughout our stay - an excellent host.

An easy 5 stars. This was our 2nd time staying in Whitley Bay in one of Joanne and John’s homes and we couldn’t have been happier. They are fantastic hosts and the property was amazing. Turning up to have bread, milk and teabags as well as some other treats was lovely and the home had everything we needed. The location is walking distance to the high street, beach and some great local restaurants. The Christmas tree and log fire were such a magic touch. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas in your home!

Great spot! The location could not have been more perfect for walking to family members in the area and shopping. House was ideal for our family of 4. The Christmas decorations made us feel right at home as we were so far away from Arizona. House was very clean as well. Thank you for being so responsive.

Idyllic cottage at a very high standard, soooo nice! Lots of special touches which made our stay delightful. A strapping walk to the top of Gilesgate’s hill and very close to a Sainsburys Local so it’s very convenient. Enjoyed the books immensely!

Beautiful house with lovely decorations/ extra touches such as candles, cosy blankets etc. The log burner made the house feel cosy and there was plenty of logs provided. The kitchen/dining area was very well equiped with plenty of plates etc. There were also lots of extras provided such as washing up liquid, bin bags, tea, coffee, sugar etc. The only thing we needed to buy was some dishwasher tablets. The bathroom was probably the one area that wasn't 5 star as the hot tap handle kept falling off. The shower was also very noisy and leaked so this could only be used when everyone was awake (if you have any older members in your party they will probably need to use the ensuite shower as the shower in the bathroom is over the bathtub which has very high sides so is tricky to get in/ out of). Overall a beautiful house in a tranquil setting. Thank you.

Gareth's house was perfect for our stay over Christmas. On street parking outside of the house made unpacking and getting the kids out of the car easy. The house is situated on a quiet street within walking distance of the town, park and riverside walks. It is also close to public transport to take you to Durham and Newcastle. The house is decorated to a hight standard with new bathrooms and kitchen. Gareth had added some lovely little Christmas decorations which made the house feel warm and cosy. We would definitely book Gareth's place again in the future. Thank you.

The place was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed. Lovely cosy place, plenty of parking directly outside. The host was very responsive to messages, would stay again if we're in the area again.

Marie's place was stylishly presented, very clean and exactly as shown in the photos. Marie has thoughtfully provided absolutely everything we could have needed. She was helpful and communicative throughout. We would definitely stay again at Marie's place.

Carla was an exceptional host, and the stay was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless – check-in was smooth, and the place was spotless and well-equipped. The little thoughtful touches made me feel right at home. The location was perfect, and Carla was always available for any questions, providing great recommendations. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

The apartment was clean, very nicely furnished and well decorated. A real treat in all aspects within the host’s control. I’m usually a fairly light sleeper, even so, the noise from the street didn’t hinder my sleep. I would just note that for anyone with even slight mobility issues, walking around Durham could be a bit of a challenge. I would highly recommend Lisa’s place to any visitor to Durham.

Apartment was as shown on the website. Very clean and tidy Towels and bed linen were spotless. Being mid February when we stayed we needed the central heating on and it proved adequate John was in touch regularly to see if we had any problems Sybil, our dog loved the outside space and the walks in the nearby Roker Park and onto the beach. A very enjoyable stay

Linda's place is a lovely two-bedroom flat in a nice quiet street close to South Gosforth metro (less than 10 mins walk), which is a short metro ride from central Newcastle and close to Jesmond. It is spacious and airy with two large bedrooms and a decent living room. It has a little yard area too. It was clean and well-equipped. Short walk to a shop. Linda, the host, was really helpful and friendly. We went to see my son who is at the University and we had a lovely time. Would definitely stay there again.

Really enjoyed our stay at this coastal apartment. Really clean, modern and immediately comfortable. Was very inviting to come into the warmth on a 2°c day after doing some seaglass hunting on the beach. Beds were very Comfy, kitchen very good, though I did miss a microwave, but only cos I'm on a weird diet. 🤣 I could work around it thanks to a trip to the v.close by Asda! Overall very impressed with our stay.

Nice flat in Gosforth. Really clean and quiet. Kitchen has got everything you need to spend a few days. Hosts offer a travel cot which was very handy. Quiet area, minutes away from Metro and bus to the city centre. Very nice local businesses around.
