Family-friendly holiday rentals in North Cowichan

Alexandra's Airbnb in Nanaimo, BC was just great--so much so that with regard to the star ratings I wish I could have given greater than five! In fact, the location gives life to the slogan Beautiful BC, situated on the coast as it is with full view of the islands and inlets which give coastal British Columbia its unique flavor. We enjoyed the hot tub, and beach below, views of the ferries and bird life and tides, the weather coming in and so much more. The binoculars on the table upstairs got a lot of use, and were one of the many neat features of this lovely house. Plus, the easy access to town was perfect for us! Thank you, Alexandra, for a lovely time, and we hope to be return guests if you'll have us in the not too distant future!

Very spacious! Exactly as described. Private and serene setting. The hot tub provided a relaxing end to the end of days hiking and beachcombing. Thank you Russell, we will be returning!!

We loved staying at Jacquie's place, it is a very private, beautiful and peaceful. We brought our 2 dogs and they enjoyed seeing the horses and the walk down to the Japanese Garden each morning. We also enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub amongst the trees. Jacquie's place was very clean when we arrived, had all the amenities and items we needed. Jacquie was very responsive when we had questions. Overall we loved it and will be going back.

This was our first time in Sooke and we shared Fredrick’s place with a friend we hadn’t seen in years. The warm home like environment, the separate bedroom ,bathroom spaces worked perfectly. The views were wonderful and we dined and explored the area easily. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Such a beautiful spot! We absolutely loved our stay, the space was cozy and cute, lots of thoughtful details, with everything we could ever need for our family. The kids were so excited to discover the games, colouring books, and art supplies. The view, the deck, the hot tub were all outstanding. Even better than the photos! We would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely stay on Mayne in Kate's cozy cabin. The hot tub was great, and we loved the quiet forest setting. Mayne is also a nice island for cycling - fairly quiet roads, and slightly less hilly than some of the other Gulf Islands? An excellent spot for an extended weekend getaway!

Had an amazing relaxing week here! The ocean views were serene and peaceful ☺️ the amenities were just right and provided a lovely place to rest as well as take that office meeting if need be! Happy to recommend and visit again!

This cabin was so dreamy! On our drive in, we spotted a beautiful gray fox and a few deer. The forest surrounding the cabin is just beautiful. The cabin had everything we needed. I thought I wouldn’t like to walk to the bath house, but honestly I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s only a short walk, and it gives you multiple chances to spot wildlife. The bath house is clean and has everything you need. I especially enjoyed the French press coffee and slow mornings reading in the cabin

We really enjoyed the space. Honestly the noise upstairs was not an issue. We didn’t really hear them. I thought they were most definitely respectful. They allowed us a late check out. Great communication and great location. Also, parking was not an issue with us either even when we arrive back late at night. Would return and recommend

WOW! We were in awe of our stay. Our hosts were responsive and so kind. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again any day!

The host was very kind and quick to respond to our requests. The interior, kitchen and bedrooms were clean and wonderful.

Rosie's Studio exceeded our already high expectations from reading the online reviews. You get unlimited access to feeding the friendly goats; Bella, a super gentle and playful golden retriever who comes and goes as she pleases (and will tease you into playing fetch!); and a stunningly peaceful farm stay with incredible views all the way to Mt Baker. The studio itself was great - clean and with lots of character, including the large circular windows that provide an ideal foreground for photos of the view. We really appreciated the breakfast staples and treats that Trish left, as well as the art supplies. When you're not out exploring Salt Spring, this is a great place to just relax, and my wife used the art supplies to paint the landscape, adding it to the wall of art from prior guests. Location wise, it's about 20 minutes to Ganges by car. We enjoyed it, as it felt far enough away from everything to feel secluded, but everything was still convenient. Perfect stay!

The place was amazing! It was clean, spacious, and perfect for a family stay. One of the highlights was the yard—it was super convenient for our dog, who had such a great time. The host was very accommodating and regularly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, which made us feel well taken care of. Overall, I highly recommend this property! We’ll definitely be coming back.

Our two days at the Station House were truly delightful! Laura was very kind and welcoming. The cozy, well-designed space instantly made me feel at home. It had all the fine touches to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The location was perfect, with beautiful views and easy access to the Galloping Goose Trail. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Billie was super responsive and hospitable. She met us at check in and made sure we had everything we needed. She even customized a welcome for us. Very cute bungalow and very cozy!

Excellent communication, we even got help getting in to the building upon arrival which made us feel SO welcomed! Was a cozy city nook with lots of incredible restaurants nearby. Host was so kind and proactive in communication and the BEDS were outstanding and comfy. The place is really clean and I’m a clean freak! Everything needed is in the unit. Would happily stay again!

My family of four stayed at Nyna's to attend a wedding over the Labour Day long weekend and enjoy some relaxation time at Rathtrevor Beach. The cabin had an absolutely perfect location for our purposes. It is an easy 20-minute walk to the beach, but we also drove to Rathtrevor whenever the kids insisted on bringing an excessive number of toys to play in the sand. The cabin itself was exactly as described and pictured. We were not entirely sure of our check-in time due to needing to pick up supplies on our way to the cabin, but Nyna still stuck around to welcome us in person upon our arrival and give us a personal tour of the place. She was an extremely responsive and helpful host. We would highly recommend her place to anyone wishing to stay in the area. Thank you, Nyna!

If you are fortunate enough to book Donald’s property, you will not be disappointed. My sister and I booked this unit and were so happy that we did. The property houses many more people, but it was also great for just the two of us. We both had our own bedroom and bathroom. So nice. The location is awesome. We walked on the beach and just relaxed. The pool and hot tub were great. This is a beautiful place and we will definitely be back hopefully. Thanks to Donald and his cleaning lady. Cheers Sandra

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Eddie's place. The location of the home is perfect with gorgeous views of the water and mountains. Eddie was very friendly, proactive and responsive. The house is well stocked and we felt right at home. Highly recommend and would love to come again!

Erik and Lynn’s place was perfect for our family of 4 during our short 2-night stay in Vancouver. It had everything we needed. Both teens had their own room and the high-level location on the 27th floor provided some great views of the city and helped with usual city noise closer to ground level. The parking was very secure and it was great to have laundry in the apartment as we were in the middle of a 10-day trip. The location is convenient and within walking distance of plenty of attractions and restaurants, including some great places in Gastown. Lynn was super responsive from the time we booked through checkout. Thanks again!
