Beachfront holiday rental in Nigg Bay

We had a lovely 3 night stay in Alexa’s cottage. The property is in a great location if you wish to travel further north, it took us less than an hour to get to John O’Groats. There is a walk to the small pebble beach 5 minutes from the cottage. The cottage is by a river which is lovely to listen to at night. Our dog enjoyed the walks nearby. The cottage stays warm and the rain shower js lovely! The living room is small and cosy, with plenty of firewood. The kitchen is stocked with all cutlery and dishes. I would say bring your own tea bags/coffee if you have more than 1 cup a day. Also bring your own shower gel, something we forgot! The hosts are helpful and responsive. Everyone we met nearby were all were kind and friendly people. All in all, a lovely place to stay. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that area.

A lovely cosy cottage with everything that was needed to make us feel right at home. The dogs were made to feel very welcome too. Excellent location right on the sea front. Sue was most friendly and helpful even letting us sit out front on their bench looking out to sea! We would most definitely stay there again!

We had a lovely 2 day stay at Margaret’s b and b cabin. It was peaceful and a delightful cosy space. We were given wonderful extras on our arrival with a nightcap and chocolates and breakfast for both mornings. Both Margaret and her husband were friendly and communicated very promptly and we had everything we needed Highly recommended Thanks so much for having us

We had such a wonderful break at Solas Cottage in beautiful Cullen. The cottage is immaculate throughout, well appointed and a few steps from the gorgeous beach and bay. Emma & Ross were great hosts and promptly answered any queries or questions. We’d definitely return in the future.

The space was beautiful and had all essential amenities. Everything was perfectly clean. The sauna on site was a brilliant treat and was a lovely relaxing way to end a busy day of travelling. The area around the cabin was calm & serene. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect stay with family/kids, house has a homely lived in feel. Children loved it, away from the busyness of the city but not far to travel at all.

My wife and our 2 little boys stayed at Gemma’s place for 3 nights. Instructions were great, check-in was easy, the place was spotless and within 50m walk of the beach. Helpfully, all of the things that you need for a short stay but don’t wish to buy especially were also there (eg buckets and spades, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls, olive oil, soap, tea coffee etc) a great stay - thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer’s caravan. The place was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Jennifer was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and always happy to help. Communication was excellent from start to finish. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely book again in the future!

Sarah is a great host, she left a lovely hamper for us and our dog. The caravan is very clean and comfortable, made us feel like we were at home. Seeing the jets fly over the caravan everyday was a added bonus and it was only a short walk to the beach. we will definitely be back for another stay in the near future ☺️

Lovely stay at Shirley’s lodge. Caravan was really clean, beds super comfy and lots of games was a bonus. Great to have the bath, washing machine and dishwasher. Place was spotless and loved the decor. One row back from the beach and huge bit of grass at the front for the kids. Great communication from Shirley and we all had a fab time

A beautifully kitted out caravan which was spotless throughout. Lots of local info, right on the beach. All information was sent in advance and any additional questions were answered quickly. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back again next year!

It is a lovely place, the caravan and the location. I would highly recommend it. We stayed in November, but we weren't cold at all in the caravan, and it has all the facilities you should need. It is literally a 2 minute walk to the large sandy beach and a 10-15 minute walk into town. The nearby, gorgeous restaurant, The Sundancer is less than 5 minutes away and in town there are plenty of eateries and take-aways, as well as other shops, including a co-op. There is a Sainsbury's supermarket about 5min drive away in the opposite direction to the town. Nairn is a lovely place and Lorna's caravan is a great place to stay there. I was on a post redundancy, solo trip & needed to be near the sea and create a wee bubble of peace for myself. Tanya’s caravan is perfectly situated, with an incredible, unencumbered view. You can even see Tarbat Ness lighthouse out in the distance. Clear starry nights, the sound of the waves and seabirds. This is a busy holiday park for most of the year & wouldn’t really suit me in the peak season but at the beginning of November, it was quiet & peaceful. I didn’t use the park facilities & the one day I did venture to the shop they were just closing at 2pm. I took a wander into Dornoch & had a lovely afternoon in the local charity & book shops as well as the very well stocked Dornoch Stores. Tanya’s place has absolutely every convenience you could possibly need & that made the stay so much more comfortable. And with Tanya herself being so friendly & helpful it made for the perfect stay. The only difficulty was unreliable wifi but I had unlimited phone data and a great signal.

What a great find 1A was. It lies nearly at the end of the peaceful village so there's very little foot flow going past the cottage. Our dog loved being able to walk out the door and straight outside to the harbour. The cottage was immaculate upon arrival. Joanna is a very thoughtful host, keeping me up to date prior and throughout our stay of information needed. We've never been offered an early check in and a late departure but on this occasion we were lucky to be offered both. It's a very roomy cottage with everything you'll need throughout your stay. The heating and shower were both fab too. We'd love to return one day. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A fantastic stay. The apartment was excellent, comfortable, well equipped and spotless. It had a great view of the river and was in a great location. We’d stay there again.

Fabulous, comfy, clean, well equipped place with stunning views, surrounding area great to explore, we did the coastal walk to the lighthouse, a long walk, but one of the best we've ever done! Responsive, helpful and friendly hosts. would definitely recommend, we had an awesome time!!

We enjoyed our stay at Katie's house, even if it was short. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Communicating with Katie was easy and the instructions in the house clear and understandable. She's a very thoughtful host. Portmahomack is a beautiful village by the sea and it has everything you need for a stay at Katie's house. We highly recommend this place.

We recently returned for a 4 night stay at Duncan's place over New Year. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, warm and cozy and is well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views out across the water are amazing. Portmahomack village itself was very quiet over the holidays, but we did get out lovely walks every day all with 30 mins drive of the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again sometime one summer. Duncan was a great host. Thanks again for having us at your lovely home 😊

Our stay in February 2025 was our second stay at this lovely property & straight away felt right at home. The property is easily accessible, spotlessly clean, in a great location for shops, pharmacies, restaurants & bars; not to mention the beautiful coast & beach. The hosts Clyde & Azhara are such lovely people, so helpful & nothing is too much trouble for them. We have family in Lossiemouth & it's been a pleasure staying at this property & hope to arrange many more stays at Clyde & Azhara's.

Little gem of a place. Ideal for a short break. Great for taking the dog. Everything that was needed was there.

Holly and Callum were great hosts and very responsive - we had no problems that we needed them, but they checked in with us to make sure we arrived safe and were happy. . Outstanding location with beautiful sea view and within walking distance to east beach. Site itself is very peaceful. Property was stocked with everything we could have wanted as well as extra blankets and throws for colder evenings. The images don’t do it justice, it was bright and spotlessly clean. Lovely surprise was the games and activities the owners had for kids to do on rainy day (and the macaroon)! Would 100% recommend and return.
