My family and I have stayed at many hotels and accommodations, but Susanne and Dave’s Misty Ridge was truly the best of the best! We spent an unforgettable weekend there (2 nights and 3 days) and my entire family was beyond happy. The stunning house sits atop a mountain, surrounded by breathtaking views and friendly wildlife—walabies, kangaroos, cockatoos, monitor lizards, and possums. Trust me, the place looks even better than in the photos! Both the interior and exterior were spotless and beautifully decorated, creating such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The spa, located right next to the house, was an absolute highlight! I’ve already recommended this gem to many friends and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. I can’t wait to bring my family back again. Hopefully very soon! I feel so lucky to have found this place and can’t thank Susanne and Dave enough for their hospitality. Thank you! ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at Sugarloaf. The cabin is very well maintained, decorated and came with all the special touches you’d want for a perfect stay. The spa, kangaroo food & provisions including muesli and jams were especially appreciated. The landscaping is also immaculate whilst also being very well integrated into the nature. You can tell the owners really care about this place, especially when you see some other cabins on the same street that are far less well maintained. The only thing that could be improved is to note in the listing that the tap water comes from a tank so has to be filtered before you can drink it. Tim did provide a jug filter but as we had a baby and toddler with us we had to bring a lot of bottled water for drinking / sterilising. He did let me know a couple of days beforehand which was good. Other friends of ours had the same situation in nearby cabins but weren’t told and that left them in a pickle as the shops are a long way away. We’d love to stay again!

The most memorable get away we have ever had. Adorable and comfortable cabin with the most spectacular views. Adults, teens and kids all loved our stay and didn't want to leave. Host was very responsive and helpful. Thank you for the stay in your beautiful property Susan. We cannot wait to come back.

Lovely peaceful haven, tucked away at the end of the road around a pretty dam. Cottages are well spaced, well equipped and the grounds lovely to stroll through with our dogs. We loved doing a BBQ breakfast on the terrace and dinner in the restaurant was very good also. We would return to stay here again. Wifi reception is not great, but the peace and quiet is the trade off.

I would highly recommend kylies artists cottage! absolutely beautiful, her sculptures and artworks were even more beautiful and incredible than I could've imagined. Great location, walking distance to town. Very comfy bed, great sleep! Definitely will be returning to this beautiful accommodation!

Thank you Eloise and Troy for having us and our two dogs over the Christmas break. Lovely property with everything we needed, a spacious yard for the pups, and Eloise was very responsive and helpful during our stay. Would recommend to anyone looking to get out of the city and be amongst nature for a few days :)

We had the most incredible weekend stay at Cathy and Manny’s place! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views and the peaceful atmosphere. The fire pits and indoor fireplace were already set up, making it so easy to just relax and enjoy our evenings. The house was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a fully equipped kitchen that had everything we needed – including quality wine glasses and even an automatic ice maker (such a nice touch!). You can really tell a lot of care has gone into making the place feel special and comfortable. One of the highlights for us was definitely the wildlife! We had friendly visits from kangaroos (who we got to feed thanks to the kangaroo food Cathy and Manny provided), as well as goannas, kookaburras, and wallabies. It felt like a dream – truly magical. We already miss it and would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you Cathy and Manny for creating such a wonderful getaway!

Very well presented property. It was a great place for me and my family to sleep with a hotel within walking distance. Throughly recommend.

Great, quiet location and comfortable house. Nicely renovated bathroom and kitchen. No laundry though. The kids loved playing in the yard and exploring. We saw a wombat, kangaroos and kookaburra. The birds were lovely to wake up to in the morning and the fireplace was beautiful to relax in front of.

Staying on the river was paradise. It was beautiful - especially from the deck! My only two suggestions is to share there is no wifi and that the beds are pushed up against a wall. Also, at least for us, there was no data connection. We were able to go into town and use the cafe wifi, but if we had seen in advance (there was a message about no wifi at the bottom of the description), we would have prepared better for working remotely. Also for older people, the beds only allow one person to get out and the other person has a wall they sleep along. Other than these two minor items that can be communicated in the description, the accommodation, the location and all of the extras are excellent. We enjoyed the bbq, the kayaks, the hammock and the firepit. Everything was comfortable and the a/c was helpful sleeping at night when there was a controlled burn. We definitely recommend staying here.

Definitely up there as one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed in. Spotless and private space and an easy five minute drive to either Ettalong or Umina Beach. It was an incredibly well designed space, from the pocket doors to small tables next to power points to hold your devices, cereals and barbecue condiments available in the kitchen. The space was incredibly private with no line of visibility into the little self-contained flat. Would love to stay here again!

great views and very peaceful , we loved our stay here , the only things we'd improve would be the shower which took ages to get the water warm and little pressure with only a shower curtain which didn't really stop water covering the bathroom floor , the other would be a longer jetty because when the tides out your literally stuck in the mud and unable to leave the property for 4- 6 hours depending on the tide height. Despite these issues we'd definitely stay again and Nicky was a great host .

The place was amazing, clean, well furnished with all the provisions we required. Exactly as described and pictured. perfect location for a quiet and relaxing couple of days for my partner and I. Jetty right in front was perfect for a bit of fishing during our stay. Definitely recommend.

This Lakeside cabin locate right in front of Lake Macquarie is beyond relaxing and very welcoming. Waking up in the morning to a view of the lake, with all the fauna out and about is truly refreshing. Would recommend for any couple wanting to spend some quality time together. If you want to adventure there is plenty to visit.

I loved staying here. One of the best quaint airbnbs I’ve stayed in for a while. Nice personal touches you can tell the hosts enjoy offering this space. I booked an extra day, felt right at home. Could easily stay a week. Would 100% come back.

A fantastic stay in a rustic cabin. Mackerel Beach is a stunning spot, and this cabin makes the most of it with an incredible upper deck offering breathtaking views—not to mention what might be the best outdoor shower I’ve ever experienced! The perfect escape from the city to unwind and explore the simple things — cooking, bush trails, walks and swimming. We took our two young boys who loved it (they were also absolutely fine making the journey up to the cabin).

We had a lovely stay at Astrid’s riverside cabin. It was a lovely, secluded weekend away. We enjoyed kayaking on the river and Col who did the boat transfers for us was fantastic as well. Would highly recommend as a couples getaway.

The loft villa was absolutely fantastic. Everything I had imagined and more. The view was amazing, quiet and peaceful, dozens of Wallabies right out the front at sunrise and on sunset. Highly recommended for a romantic weekend away in a fantastic location.

Marc's place is amazing. Clean and had everything we needed. Felt at home staying there. Brilliant communication even before we got there. Also provided lots of information on activities to do. Always responsive and friendly... thanks so much, Marc. Highly recommend the place.
