Holiday houses in Newark

We were very pleased with our stay. We came to go to the Conowingo dam and the location to that was perfect. The house was clean, quiet, and we'll stocked. The only recommendation I have would be to add a curtain or blinds to the back door, to close them at night, but the view of the creek in back with all the birds during the day was very nice. While the townhouse complex is an older one, and some are not upkept, JulieAnne did an outstanding job, clearly updating and decorating her unit. We were pleasantly surprised at how big it was once inside, it was quite spacious. We would definitely stay again.

Quiet, impeccably kept getaway to enjoy nature and rest. Great places to eat and explore just a short drive away, as well as a nice property to go for a ramble. Hosts are very thoughtful- stocked the fridge with eggs from the family farm, and offered fresh baked snacks, but also very mindful of respecting space. Would definitely visit again for a weekend getaway to enjoy downtime!

This place is (pleasantly) exactly as advertised. A lot of hosts lean hard on “creating a vibe” while missing the mark on the basics. This is not the case here. The proximity/view/access/ to/of the bay is what this place is all about & the hosts get & leverage that. It’s wonderfully organized/appointed/etc. but, even more important than that, these hosts attend to the basics & get it- & that is rare/valuable.

Beautiful house right near the town! Super close to everything and the place was perfect for our stay! Highly recommend this place for your next trip to HDG!

Our stay at Shelley's cottage was perfect. Checking in was so easy and Shelley is so responsive. Working with her was an absolute joy. The bedrooms have comfortable beds. Kitchen was well equipped. The house was so clean and cozy! She knew we would be celebrating Christmas and put up a tree for us! That was a nice added touch. We will definitely be back!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during a work trip in the area. It easily fit our large group and all of the beds were extremely comfortable. Would definitely book again!

It was great! The place is lovely and very cozy. Clean, and the views through the windows are amazing. Many books and movies.

The River Cottage was such a beautiful place to stay! My wife and I were looking for a little getaway, and this charming spot delivered exactly what we needed. The cottage was much more spacious than we expected, and we loved every detail about it. Sleeping in the loft was a bit warm, even with the fan on, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Everything else was wonderful, and we can’t wait to return for another relaxing escape. Highly recommend!

Really wonderful house in a beautiful place! I booked this for a quiet weekend retreat with friends and it was perfect - the house is situated in a very peaceful location with an incredible view of the pond and Fall foliage. There were so many comfortable and well designed seating/gathering areas for us to share meals and socialize. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals together and plenty of space to cook. The house is very clean and spacious, the hosts were very communicative when we had questions and also helped with a last minute update to our reservation the week of. I highly recommend booking here, our group is looking forward to hopefully coming back in the Summer to enjoy the pond and the pool!
