Family-friendly holiday rentals in Namib Desert

Felicia's was really great. The hot tub was a welcome treat in the storm of the afternoon. Jan was funny and very helpful. We were very happy there.

We had a lovely stay at C-breeze. What a beautiful modern home with a well kept lawn and access to the beach. My family and I can't wait to visit this stunning home again. Thank you.

We had a really special time, at this big home. The staff went out of their way to make us all comfortable and at home. The gardens were lovely and the pool area was amazing! My boys had a blast swimming and running around without us having to worry about them disturbing other guests. The beds were super comfy and the lounges were tastefully decorated. We also enjoyed our coffee in the mornings on the verandah facing the Chobe river.

We really appreciated the hospitality. Clive went out of his way to make us feel welcome, and helped us out with airport transfers and local recommendations! We will definitely stay again when in the area!

Stunning flat in an ideal location in the middle of Windhoek. We were two couples visiting from the UK for a couple of nights and it was ideal for us. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. Spacious living area. Secure parking. Super helpful and friendly host too :) Would definitely recommend this place.

This place steals your heart! We don't want to go home!

Everything was perfect! Kitchen with good utensils. Washing machine very useful. We saw plenty of flamingos in front of the apartment but missed the pelicans. The hotel where we attended a conference was an easy walk.

Lovely property in a great location, a mere stone’s throw from the beach and close to lots of great shops and restaurants too. The property itself is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic stay. Right on the beach. Quiet and clean. Laurette was great and helped me out finding a dentist while i was in town. Would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Sese’s place is great and matches the description. Everything was clean, AC in bedroom works great and the shower is hot. I read a review that it takes 40 minutes for the water to get hot, didn’t time it but is probably closer to 10-15 minutes. Sese met me at the airport and we took a taxi to the house. Once I had the location getting a taxi to anywhere I wanted to go was very east as there is a main road less than a minute walk away with a constant flow of taxis (8 pula or 30 for a special). She also messaged periodically to see how I was doing or if I need anything. She is a very responsive and present host (while giving the privacy of the private guest home on the property). I would certainly stay here again. Nice house that is easy to get to anywhere from (including airport) and is good value for the price. Much nicer than a room in a guest house.

We only had one night and would have loved to stay longer. Beautiful area and very comfortable historic cottage.

Loved our stay there - unfortunately only a single night mid-journey, but what a lovely haven of tranquility in a lovely cottage. Furnishings and finishes were superb and we will definitely come back on our next trip

We loved our stay as it was the perfect way to break our journey from the Orange River back to Cape Town. The house was perfect and the kids loved all the extras from being part of the Oukip Country lodge. We will come again and recommend to friends on route to Namibia or back

If you’re passing through Ghanzi on the way to/from the Okavango Delta or Namibia this is certainly the place to stay. It’s a ten minute drive up beyond Ghanzi and then off the road (all on Google Maps) and then down a dirt road to this historical farmhouse, established by the first White cattle farmers in that area of the Kalahari. The two bedrooms are huge, as are the bathrooms. There’s also a big lounge to relax in, an outside seating area and a nice kitchen. The housekeeper, a Namibian lady called Corrie, is the perfect host and goes well out of her way to help you. On our night there she cooked for us kudu sseswa (an essential Botswana delicacy), pap and sweet pumpkin. It was absolutely delicious. Her husband, Piet, is from a long established family in the area and is pleased to talk about the incredible history of the farming community, including the astonishing cattle droving that saw the locals drive 2,000 head of cattle to Lobatse several times a year!

Excellent place to rest. Beautiful views of the ocean with plenty places to kick back and relax.

Erika has a great place in Windhoek. Up a hill with a view and a nice pool to cool down from the Namibian heat. She’s very friendly and also her staff is welcoming. Petrus took us on a tour to Windhoek and brought us to places where the locals go. The apartment is very nice with a good bed , shower and a terrace outside. Would come back without a doubt.

Great Place! Great People! I really enjoyed my stay. Good communication and very focused on solving every little problem or request. Appreciate it. Would stay again! Only room for improvement is Internet for Voice Calls, which can be a challange sometimes (not always).

This was a home from home for a relatively long stay while we found permanent accommodation in Potchefstroom. Lindi was a friendly and accommodating host who communicated regularly. There is a beautiful garden with a spotless pool

After spending time in some remote locations, Tarantula Guesthouse was the perfect soft landing. The house is incredibly spacious, kept wonderfully cool in the heat, and felt like a true home away from home. We loved the lovely braai area and the pool, which were a hit for both us and our kids. The property is very private from the other cottages, which made it even more relaxing. The full kitchen and access to all DSTV channels added to the convenience, allowing us to unwind completely. We enjoyed our stay so much that we even requested a late check-out because we didn’t want to leave! Hendrina was exceptionally kind, and communication was seamless from start to finish. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back. Looking forward to staying here again!

Stayed at the apartment for a longer period a couple years before. This time my stay was shorter, and as last time, Sandra was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. The apartment is great, super clean and at a very central location - would highly recommend!

Perfect base to visit Etosha - we stayed just one night, but one could easily stay much longer. Great location and very friendly host. Tanja is fluent in German and English. Thank you again!

This is an excellent place to stay. It is a separate residence on the hosts property. The gardens were beautiful and the veranda was comfortable to lounge in. The kitchen was well equipped. Bedrooms has nice bedding, aircon and a fan over the bed. The breakfast of fresh fruit salad, yogurt, granola, croissants and buns was brought in by Ruth every morning. Ground coffee with cream was available to make with a plunger coffee maker at all times. Liz was extremely helpful in assisting us with a couple of dinner reservations. She also set us up with Emanuel T taxi service who was excellent. The taxi service waited until the end of our stay to charge us. We paid all our trips on one invoice with a credit card. This was really convenient as walking to town and restaurants is not really advisable due to wild animals in the area. This is a comfortable place to stay with an excellent host. I highly recommend this Airbnb.
