House holiday rentals in Mount Desert

Ryan was responsive & explained any question I had! My girls & I went down for a birthday celebration, it was only a 5 minute ride to downtown Bangor & we truly enjoyed the hot tub!

We used the Jarvis Homestead for our friends and family to stay the week of our micro wedding. This space was everything we needed it to be. It was very clean and well kept, has tons of space, and was a beautiful environment for a wedding reception afterward. It does have some quirks as it is an old home such as doors opening and closing well and light switches being finicky; however, we had no issues while we were there and would absolutely stay again.

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

BEAUTIFUL Home!! Tons of space to relax and spread out with our family! The beds were very comfortable! We really appreciated all of the bathrooms for our group! The kitchen was huge and so handy for preparing meals! I absolutely loved the style and atmosphere of this wonderful home! We also loved being able to bring our dogs!! We had a lovely time and we would most definitely come back!!! 🥰

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

We had a wonderful stay. Great location just outside Bar Harbor. It was nice to relax in this beautiful peaceful home after fun filled days in Acadia and Bar Harbor. Melinda had great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. C-Ray’s was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again!

I really enjoyed staying at this house! It was a perfect location central location if you’re traveling to Acadia or Bangor. The house was clean and cozy. It has a rustic and charming feel.

We had a great stay here. A short walk to everything yet tucked away in a quiet residential street with easy parking. The house itself feels perfectly on brand for a Maine getaway too!

We loved our stay here! Jana was very accommodating for 2 infants, helping us get extra supplies to make travel to the location easier. This location is perfect. Everything is walkable and you don’t have to worry about parking. Highly recommend. Easily the best air bnb we have stayed at.

The house and views are excellent, you can sit on the back deck or outside area and just gaze out at the view, see Bald Eagles fly over every day, even saw one grab a fish from the water. Very clean and well appointed with the essentials like detergents for laundry and dishwasher, garbage bags, slat, pepper and other cooking basics, foil and cling wrap, beach chairs. Overall I can say it is a very nice house, very clean. The location is 20 - 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and maybe 20 min to Acadia. We didn't mind this at all. We ate lobster at 5 different places, if you want the absolute best Lobster rolls go to the Travilin Lobster, there is one in Trenton and one in Bar Harbor, by far the best lobster roll. Oh, and probably as important as the house being very clean, the beds were very comfortable.

lovely family home. Had every thing you would need. rules are explicit. it may be helpful to know that the one bathroom is on the second floor.Although family is not in the area, they were responsive in a short period of time. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

For my husband and me this place was perfect! Simple, clean, very homey. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials (and more) and even spices, etc. We went to Acadia to hike and LOVED the location! Very easy access to trails, yet not too far for those who want to access downtown Bar Harbor. Allison was very responsive, kind, and helpful and gave us some great recommendations! We loved hiking Acadia so much and would love to return. If we do, we’ll definitely stay at Thelma’s Cottage!!

Our family and I had a wonderful stay at Jackies, we are all originally from maine, and her home gives you everything great about maine. We really felt at home, it snowed christmas eve which made it even more beautiful ( The driveway was plowed out early as well). I brought a small christmas tree with us on our trip up, and when we walked in, the place was decorated for christmas, which was just amazing and so thoughtful. We definitly plan on staying again, the next time we are back in maine. Thank you again Jackie!

We have been going to this area of Maine for over fifty years. I found this gem several years ago and haven’t stayed anywhere since. I find it to be peaceful, walkable to the center via footbridge, it’s all that we want. Kathy is a great host, quickly responds to any questions or needs you may have. We always know we will have a great experience staying here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samantha's place in Cushing. To say that she is "very responsive" would be an understatement. She typically responded within 10 minutes no matter what my question was. She lives a short distance away which really helped facilitate things. We had a minor issue with the Internet which required communication with the service provider, but she coordinated everything and resolved it right away. The house is totally charming - old, a bit creaky and adorable - and well maintained (no issues there). We imagined how great it would be to visit in wintertime and snuggle up to a roaring fire. They have an expansive yard with gardens great for a short evening stroll. Forest habitat behind the property was great for bird watching. The area is absolutely beautiful - quintissential coastal Maine. The Olson House (local attraction) is a few minutes drive from the house. The grounds have a walking trail along the water with fantastic views of the coast.

I wrote this while on GCI! Enjoy! The Winds changed without a word. The Wind changed and so did the temperature down seven degrees. It had been so quiet. It had taken a little time to get used to the silence once we arrived on the island. Eventually the silence was replaced by a constant easterly wind as the September temperature reminded me that summer here was wanning. Fall begins today, right on que and even though I felt in isolation I did not feel alone, as the winds, for sure, were making sounds like peoples chatter and for a moment I had to turn my head and listen to make sense of the mystery and the wonder I've experienced through mother nature. Our family was able to come together to relax, cook, enjoy Belfast and celebrate our own little Christmas. We were super comfortable and really enjoyed the space. The house had everything we needed!

The yellow door house was very cozy and comfortable. It had absolutely everything we needed! Judith even shoveled the sidewalk during our stay when it snowed! A very welcome surprise. We felt very safe in our place. Our stay was two weeks and we prepared all of our meals except for one at home. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to prepare our meals. The house is exactly as shown and described, and this will be our choice to stay when we return!

This Airbnb is BEAUTIFUL inside and out. We were a group of 3 couples and this was perfect for our weekend vacation. The view from the hot tub was incredible and the kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner. Beds were comfortable and the living room was spacious enough for 6! Thank you for the great experience!

Just as described! Very clean. Far enough to feel private but still close to grocery stores, shops, and nearby towns! Lisa is great at communicating and it was a seamless process! Had a wonderful new year’s getaway!
