Chiswick Waterfront Retreat

田邉Rating, 5 stars1 month ago
I was traveling with my grandparents. The location is excellent in a quiet environment. It was about 15 minutes by rental car to the center of Sydney. The host was also kind and responded quickly, which I appreciated. The room was clean and easy to spend time in, and we were able to enjoy a barbecue while sightseeing.

Quiet and pleasant accommodation about 1 hour by bus and train from downtown Sydney. The bus stop and a supermarket are in 3 minutes walking. Great kitchen equipment and a great coffee every morning. Super friendly and likeable host. Check in was excellent. The two small dogs are very sweet.

Located in the historic (and possibly most beautiful) part of Sydney’s CBD, Suzanna’s home is simply, Wonderful. Light, airy, spotless and perfectly appointed. Within an easy walk to fantastic restaurants and pubs in Millers Point and The Rocks. … and Incredible Views over Barangaroo, Nawi Cove to White Bay (sunset was spectacular). Topping it off is Suzanna is an Incredible Host - so responsive and welcoming. Suzanna’s home is my new ‘go-to’ for trips to Sydney. Thank you, Suzanna!

Coastal Holiday Apartment

StuartRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a lovely stay in this fabulous apartment over Christmas and New Year. The apartment is spotless, bright and spacious, and beautifully furnished. It is in a great location, a short walk to the beach in Newport and close to good coffee shops and restaurants. Mia is an excellent host, very responsive to any queries we had and gave us clear and detailed information about check-in process and local amenities. Lots of free parking spaces in streets so parking is no problem. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to be back next year for another two week stay.

Your guide to Mosman

All About Mosman

North of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Mosman is one of Sydney’s most delightful waterside suburbs, with its lush greenery, sloping hills, and mix of waterfront properties. With a picture-perfect location right on Sydney Harbour, it is a great spot to discover the many scenic harbour walks, including the popular Manly to Spit Bridge path. Mosman also has a charming, old-fashioned high street with designer boutiques housed in heritage listed buildings, independent specialty stores, and a handful of lively cafes.

There are several harbourside beaches nearby, such as Balmoral Beach. More calm waters than big waves, it makes a chilled-out alternative to some of the more famous beaches. There are also enclosed harbour baths and shady spots to enjoy a picnic. Nearby in Middle Head, you will come across a fort built in 1801, along with other historic defensive structures. From the fort, you can enjoy stunning views of Sydney Harbour’s entrance, known as the Heads — where the harbour meets the mighty Pacific Ocean. South of Middle Head is Chowder Bay, a popular spot for snorkelling and diving.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Mosman

Mosman is a great place to visit year-round, but the months of September to November, and March and April, offer pleasantly sunny weather and milder nights, great for sightseeing, outdoor activities, and water sports. In October, you can immerse yourself in the Hunter Valley Uncorked Festival at Balmoral Beach, wandering through the many stalls and sampling gourmet delights and wine from the Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales. If the beach is your priority, then the summer months of December to February will offer the long, warm days you’re looking for. Just make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and a hat. Whenever you decide to visit, you will find an excellent range of holiday accommodation in Mosman and Sydney in a variety of price points and architectural styles.

Top things to do in Mosman

Manly to Spit Bridge Walk

Start the 10-kilometre walk from Spit Bridge, which will take you around three and a half hours one way to Manly. The views of the Harbour are stunning, and along the way you will pass many points of interest — including the tidal pool in Fairlight, the lovely Clontarf Beach, Reef Beach and Crater Cove, as well as the Grotto Point Lighthouse.

Balmoral Beach

Balmoral Beach is as big as any of Sydney’s Ocean beaches, but its harbourside position means it's shielded from winds and big waves, so the calm waters provide a sheltered swimming enclosure. There are lovely spots to enjoy a picnic as well as many water activities to try here. You can learn to sail at the sailing school or take a spin in the kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for hire.

Middle Head

One of the area’s best look-out points, it offers sensational views of the Pacific Ocean. You can also find out about Middle Head’s military significance by walking the Don Goodsir track to the 19th-century fort, built in response to a feared French invasion. There are also tunnels and sandstone gun pits to explore.
