Beautiful Portuguese farm cottage nº 32172/AL

Experience life in the Portuguese countryside in a traditional family owned Quinta! Perfect for families with children :) Location: Located in the center of the village Vale, Arcos de Valdevez just across the street from the church, the whole property has more than 6 hectares, it’s located in one of the most famous wine regions (vinho verde) in the country and it offers the insights of traditional farming in Northern Portugal. Description: Your home is a cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and the other has a bunk bed. In the living room there is an expandable sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped to make you feel like home and the bathroom has a shower with hot water. We try to arrange the privacy and comfort of modern home in a rustic environment. Activities: In this Quinta (Portuguese farm) you can admire the great view of the whole valley, take a nice walk (1 km) to a small waterfall and natural swimming pool, enjoy some quality time with the pigs, sheep or ducks on the property or taste the home made jams, smoked meat or liquors produced by the owner. For the nature lovers this is the place to start a hike in Peneda-Geres National Park and there is a local company that organizes tours and canoe rides. Getting around I you arrive by car, free parking is available on site. Closest city is Arcos de Valdevez (8 km away). It is well connected by bus with Porto, Lisbon, Braga and there is a direct bus from Porto airport. From Arcos to Vale there is a local bus service twice a day and taxi is available for around 10 euros. Pick up can be arranged for a fee, if agreed beforehand.

About 15 Km you can enjoy the fantastic landscapes of Peneda-Gerês National Park, such as the Vilarinho da Furna Dam, the fabulous Mata da Albergaria, as well as walk through countless Pedestrian Trails, from where the Geira Romana Trail stands out - the Via Nova Romana that connected Bracara Augusta (Braga) to Asturica Augusta (Astorga, Spain).

Beautiful country house

Modern country house with large garden and animal backyard ideal for a break from the city movement. The coldest days invite to a evening by the fireplace where you can get cosy and watch the fire dance as the wood burns. It is a quiet place with a good neighborhood. The historic center of Viana do Castelo is a 10 minutes drive as well as several beaches such as Cabedelo beach, where you can practice various water sports such as surfing, windsurfing or paddle. Five minutes from supermarkets.

Stone house: Wine with books, dogs and routes

In this house lived the "caseiros" - the family that cared for the estate where our organic wine is currently grown. Restored in 2013, the old kitchen space was preserved with its “ira ”, the oven, and the stone sink, now a cool space to read, play, or nap. The two open floors look at the valley of the Miño River, which separates us from Portugal. Upstairs, for sleeping or reading; downstairs, where the animals were once there, for cooking or going out to the small garden.

Camino de Playa is a 4 bedroom main house sleeping 8 with a separate studio sleeping 3 (at additional cost). Welcome to our little bit of paradise in Galifornia, the sunny part of Galicia. The house is located in the midst of vineyards and the nearest neighbours are about 300m away in the village of Donon. The main house has 4 bedrooms all with private shower room, a large outdoor patio with kitchen and a 15m heated pool. Wi-Fi but no TV.
