Private room in Maniwa-shi

Goto-san was super nice and even though he spoke little English we could speak fine because he went out of his way. He was incredibly friendly and offered to drive me to different places as it's all not really walkable. The room was beautifully authentic and the area very quiet and beautiful. 1 tip: take a good look at what you want to do in the area because walking and with public transport you don't get far unless you have all the time and are willing to take a nice walk.

It was a lovely stay. I stayed three nights with my family of 3 adults and the place was spacious and comfortable. We could enjoy the life of Japanese-styled home. The place is also located close to OKayama station and walkable to historic places and a bus terminal. The host is super friendly and responsive as well. Would definitely stay again during my next visit in Okayama.

Walking in the Kurashiki Aesthetic District at night, and how to use your travel time right there

JasonRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This is a comfortable apartment for a short stay to visit Kurashiki and the surrounding islands. Our family felt at home immediately upon check-in. There is ample things to do, from the Bikan Historical District, to the outlet mall and restaurants. Walking around the neighborhood was a pleasant experience too. We would definitely come back if we are visiting this city again.

It is an old-fashioned house. Taste the goodness of an old Japanese house. To avoid any inconvenience, the kitchen, bath, washroom, toilet, etc. have been renovated. The rooms and facilities were very clean, and the ingenious and arranged interior was very beautiful and fun. There is nothing special around, but the countryside landscape is not bad. If you want to relax in a comfortable private house, I recommend it with confidence. The owner was very kind.We are grateful that we were able to stay comfortably.

My stay here was amazing. It was a ver quiet area, very peaceful and calm! But there was also a train station about 10 minutes away, so it is a great balance for someone who wants quiet and to see the city!

A beautiful old house which has been lovingly refurbished. The Kaiseki dinner and bathhouse were particular highlights. Wonderfully easy and helpful communication and a great place to stay.

Extremely value for money! I’m glad my family of 5 stayed in Yasu’s place in okayama. A great find in a great neighborhood. Peaceful and quiet. So much space - we greatly enjoyed and we are thankful for the hospitality extended by Yasu. I highly recommend this property for anyone driving and needs a clean and nice house to stay. Worth every dollar!!!! Parking is also free and 1 min walk away!

Hideo is the perfect host. He is clearly proud of his property and has made this classic Japanese house comfortable and fun. The house is full of beautiful art and other fine touches. For those who want to experience authentic Japanese architecture and living, it is ideal. There is room for a number of people, with at least 8 beds. The kitchen is large and very functional, with beautiful dish sets. And there are two separate rooms with couches / loungers, as well as a desk for working. The internet speed was great, and you can watch movies on a projector screen. Hideo is also the perfect host in the sense that he is genuinely happy to connect with you and help you with your visit to the area. I have thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with Hideo. He even took time one day to show me around the Okayama / Kurashiki area and share a meal with me. The area near Hideo's place is suburban (almost rural) but with many traditional old houses and canals that Kurashiki is famous for.
