Tranquility Blue: Secluded house on blue lagoon

ToddRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This is a great place if you want a quiet beautiful getaway. Walking distance from the airport and bikes to go to town on. We rented a car from fishing guide Captain Patterson at PB's car rental on some windy days to explore the island. The house is not fancy but well equipped. Air-conditioned and comfortable. The front yard is steps away from the beach and we spent most of our time looking out or swimming in the bebeautiful water. Scott, the host, has thought of everything and is very knowlegdable about the area. There's 2 blue holes and a boat wreck within swimming distance of the house that are alive with tropical fish and lobster. I would suggest hiring a guide early to take you out fishing and snorkling so you can fill the frig with fresh seafood. You can also buy lobster for a great rate at Jolly's market in town. If you love the water and wildlife this is the place for you. Miles and miles of waist deep, crystal clear water with white sand. Heaven on earth.

Villa Blue Hole

NickRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Thank you for having us! We went for a trip to spearfish the barrier reef and weren’t disappointed! Margo was fantastic and even cooked the fish that we speared. Such a sweet and helpful person, we can’t say enough good things about her! Prince ended up being our boat captain, one of the nicest people we met on the island. He even took us out on the boat on his Birthday to which we thanked him by catching his favorite fish (Hog Fish). Patrick was helpful in arranging basic needs, coordinating the boat etc but however charged for an unnecessary ride or two. Overall he was helpful and got us what we needed (Ice, gas and a taxi on South Andros). Overall the Villa was a great place to stay and would definitely do it again, especially now that we know some people on the island. A couple tips for anyone looking to stay here: 1.) bring lots of cash. 2.) bring lots of bug spray. 3.) arrange for a boat (a must). Thank you!

Paradise Ranch Cottage (2 adults)

CharlesRating, 5 stars18 months ago
Our stay at Paradise Ranch exceeded our expectations by miles! We arrived in fresh creek and conveniently Tamesha had the Jeep waiting for us at the airport. After a 30 minutes drive we arrived at the cottage and where greeted with immense hospitality. The cottage is full of amenities inside and out, washer, dryer, water heater, generator, bikes, kayaks, snorkel gear and so much more. Andro’s is as remote as it gets and yet Tamesha made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately the main power plant on North Andro’s burnt down a week before we arrived and it was hard to find places to eat due to power outages. Tamesha made sure we didn’t go hungry and cooked us dinner everyday (Best cook on the island) ! The generator kept the power running in the cottage and didn’t stop once. Overall we had an amazing getaway and would recommend Paradise Ranch Cottage to anyone looking for a getaway from reality!

Coconut Beach, Congo Town, Andros

KristinaRating, 5 stars14 months ago
Jacquie's place was a great location. It is about a mile from Congotown airport. The home is a short, shaded, sandy walk from the beach. Beautiful hammock, picnic tables, and chairs under the palms. The beach has clear water, a reef to snorkel, lots of shells, and wildlife. The home was adequate to our needs with a comfortable queen bed and four singles, plus two full bathrooms. The water pressure was fine for island life, but not enough for two showers at once. The kitchen had everything we needed: stove, oven, toaster oven, coffee pot, microwave, fridge, and freezer. The community was all very friendly! We enjoyed our time in conversation with the locals and hanging out with the many puppies and dogs who loved our kids. We ate at AAA Restaurant, which is walking distance from the home, and it was exceptional. Overall, we loved our stay. Just know it will be an authentic and local experience. The grocery stores and restaurants might be sparce if the boat hasn't arrived yet.

Nathan's Lodge Kemp Bay - Guest house

RobertRating, 5 stars33 months ago
Nathan’s was great. Spent 3 days there while diy bonefishing. Clean and well maintained. Hooked me up with a rental car that fit my needs perfectly. Freeman was a great host with breakfast and coffee in the morning and the cook in the evenings was great as well . Both were a great source of local info.
