Cottage holiday rentals in Makarska Riviera

We spent 2 great weeks in Marja and her family appartment. The robinsonhouse is super charming, very clean and well equiped (everything you need for cooking, clean towels and sheets, and even the WIFI that was not mentioned in the description). The surrounding is very quiet and 15 minutes walk from a very quiet (almost private) beach and 10 minutes drive from the town for supermarket, restaurants and multiple activities. We spent most of our time in the terraces, enjoying the calm and the superbe view on the see. The owners, leaving next door, are super welcoming, very friendly and helpful, they even greet us with fresh grappes and figs from the garden. We highly recommend the location and also their restaurant in the city. Great place for holidays in the sun.

We were warmly welcomed and felt completely comfortable. The hosts are warm and uncomplicated people. If you are looking for peace and relaxation on your vacation, this is the place to be. We liked the view of the mountains and the plenty of space best. There are many excursion opportunities on site as long as you have a car available. We also took the kitten who lives there into our hearts and gladly took care of it. We thank you for the pleasant time.

Lukša is a very attentive host. As a welcome, the fridge was filled with cheese, sausage, milk, bread and jam. The house is situated in a very quiet village. Those looking for rest and like animals are well served here. The hot tub is well maintained and completes the rest. We had a great time and would be happy to come back.

We were looking for a place that would be big enough to be comfortable for our group of eight and it's safe to say we absolutely loved it! Our highlight was definitely the pool - perfect for relaxing and cooling down during the hot summer days. The house and garden was super clean and tidy and Ante was a very warm and welcoming host. He gave us lots of local recommendations and was very responsive and friendly throughout. The location is very peaceful and more on the remote side, so I would definitely recommend to bring/rent a car. It's easy to get to the city of Split and there's lots of gorgeous national parks about 30 - 60 minutes away by car, so it's a great starting point to explore the natural sights of the area.

Fantastic location and felt comfortable from the first second! The place is very clean and lovingly furnished, with everything you need – even small gifts surprised us. The hosts are extremely helpful, respond quickly and gave us great tips about the surroundings. Particularly impressive: They grow their own vegetables and herbs, which guests are free to use. We had a wonderful time in this little paradise, perfect for switching off. The journey takes place via an approximately 1 km long, unpaved road, but the journey is worth it – and we were even helped with the luggage!

This is one of the most beautiful vacation rentals I’ve ever stayed at. A charming little house with everything you need, surrounded by a beautiful secret garden under olive trees, with a stunning view of the mountains. My family had a wonderful time here. There’s plenty of seating both inside and outside. It’s clear that the owners have put a lot of thought into the details, making sure the place feels cozy and welcoming. If you’re looking for a peaceful and private getaway, this is it. The kitchen is very well equipped. However, if you plan to cook a lot, like I did, I recommend bringing an additional portable induction stove. Otherwise, you can use two cooking stoves, an oven, and an outdoor BBQ. This property is definitely worth the money, and the owners are incredibly kind and responsive, just a call away if you need anything. I hope to return soon!

Great place for a weekend getaway. You get nice kitchen with a spacious bedroom on the second floor and decorated patio outside. Lots of details like candles and vases around to make it romantic. You can walk to the sea or enjoy see view from the bench on the parking. Atmosphere is quite private and host is freindly and responsive. Chekout is easy - just walk out and close the door and the only issue with checkin is that gps gives you an end point at 100m earlier (you cannot drive to the house and this confuses maps navigation). Things you may consider though: airplanes make a lot of noise when passing by, barthroom is dark and tiny.

The best beach in Brijesta center so far for small kids. The house is clean, well equiped. The closest beach in 10min walk, but the best beach is additional 5 min, with car is 3min. Local resaurant is recommended too. Lidija communication was fast reponsive, and solved all of our request very fast. Recommended host. We will go back there for sure.

Would give 6 stars if possible! This place is perfect for your family holiday. It’s 2 seperate apartments all in one house, so was perfect for our holiday with 3 couples. So many beautiful spots to sit and hang out on the property! Everything you could want in a house - fully equipped kitchen, beautiful view, close to town, walking distance to a swimming spot, a short drive/run to a near-bye town, and if you are lucky some fruit trees laden with fruit! Don’t hesitate! Book it.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the villa. Just what we were searching for, a haven of tranquility. The hosts were delightful, Razu in particular was extremely helpful throughout the entire stay regarding information and supplied us with an array of fantastic meals. We didn't want for anything. There were plenty of things to see and do within a short car journey. I would wholeheartedly recommend Villa Amphora. As most of the other reviews state, it is a truly unique experience. Regarding the one negative review on the website; all I can say is I really don't understand what they found so disagreeable.

Falcon’s Nest is by far our favourite stay of all the Airbnbs we’ve stayed in. The accommodation is beautiful and peaceful; a quiet beach close by and we were content. Our interactions with the owners were friendly and generous. We couldn’t ask for better

The three of us really enjoyed our parental leave in Villa Leon. The air-conditioned house offers plenty of space & comfort: On the 1st floor, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub. On the lower floor, in addition to the fully equipped kitchen, there is another bathroom with shower. We were particularly impressed by the kitchen with induction stove & dishwasher. The large terrace with awning invites you to relax and also offers a barbecue area. In the living area, there was enough space for a play corner for the baby. Everything else we needed was also available (including a crib & baby bath). In addition, the house is equipped with insect screens and shutters. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine. A highlight for us was the lockable garage. The quiet location of the house on a hill may require a narrow access road, but you will be rewarded with a sea view. The hosts are very warm, helpful and always friendly. Overall great!

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful location. The house has everything needed. Tonko and his mother were very friendly. Lots of figs and other fruits we were invited to pick and eat from the garden. Lovely clean pool. Walking distance to beach with restaurants, shop, gelataria, boat hire.

The Thinkers House is a dream house by the sea. The breathtaking view from the veranda and from the rooms actually cannot be surpassed. But then you enter the roof terrace and it takes your breath away: during the day the deep blue of the sea and at night an infinite starry sky. Marko is a very friendly and helpful host who has beautifully designed and furnished his house. We would love to come back.

Absolutely beautiful sweet little place. Trees, flowers, garden and a basketball hoop. I hope to return soon.

Amazing place to stay and hosts are very centered around the guests and their needs. We were well supported with all our questions and details. The house is located on a remote island with scenic surroundings, and it is a true ‚live like a local‘ experience off the beaten path. We especially enjoyed grilling on the outside fire oven, hiking and enjoying the lovely views, swimming in the multitude of bays, fishing, and the peace and quiet in the surroundings. If you are looking for a no frills, quiet yet adventurous experience, this is a great place to go.

Peaceful place. Very clean house, very welcoming. The best place to stay since we rented on rbanb. The hosts are very welcoming, and very kind. The swimming pool is large. Everything is nicely decorated. It feels good

We had a great time at Anita's! Although the house has it's "old" charm, it was cleaned very well and it felt cozy. To reach the house, you have to walk in front of the neighbours house and can start talking to them. They gave great instructions and even helped jump start our car. You also get to meet Lucky, the neighbours dog, who is very cute and just wants to be petted all the time and even likes to sleep in front of the Airbnb. Anita was a great help and helped us with parking, freetime activities etc. We would recommend everyone to stay there if you want a relaxing, quiet vacation :)

This place is just magical, exactly what we were hoping to find.

We spent 5 weeks in low season at Tonci’s and Andrea’s home and loved everything about the experience. The views are incredible, the house spacious and super livable, and being so close to the ocean to just be able to jump in and swim was idyllic. Nothing was better than sitting enjoying the view with a drink in hand at the begining or end of each day, it was lovely. The house is on a slope giving it privacy, and with another 15-20 houses in the bay, you don’t feel isolated. It has a gorgeous BBQ area, several outdoor seating areas, and very comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well equipped and the house very clean. Tonci’s a superb host and his approach really made this stay wonderful though. He and his family live in Split but when he did visit Solta, he was kind, conversational, and amazingly helpful with advice and information. The satellite internet is good quality and the top of the range for the island and can certainly sustain voice conversations although sometimes challenging for videoconferencing. We hope to return someday and stay just as long again. Thank you both for hosting us.

Interesting nature, great private wild spot … beautiful simple vintage furniture … nice tap water pressure … lots of trees in garden You need a car … best for minimum a week stay I think because if you go in summer and want mainly to swim in the sea then you’ll need to leave the house all day , unless you stay longer period so you dedicate a day or two to enjoy the house fully to make bbq or sunbathing in the garden …

Just got back from a fab stay at Marijana's place. Lovely house, with a great private pool and outside area. Good location for exploring Bol, which we loved. Marijana was brilliant too. she checked in with us a few times, brought us cakes, left us some treats for our arrival and drove us to and from the catamaran as well. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you Marijana.
