Holiday rentals with breakfast in Madhyapur Thimi

Sugat and Roshani are amazingly friendly and helpful hosts and the experience was above all my expectations. I could check in already in the morning after my flight and Sugat came to pick me up from the airport. As soon as I got to the accommodation Roshani greeted me with some hot coffee and I got a lot of tips what to see in Kathmandu and Sugat helped me to plan my trip to Pokhara. He also helped me with all my questions and even made sure my busride to Pokhara went well after I had left the accommodation. Making the booking was easy, the room was very cozy and clean with electricity, wifi and warm shower. The accommodation is in a more calm area of the city, and still Thamel area and the attractions of the city are easy to reach. I couldn't have had a better start for my first trip to Nepal, I felt more like I was coming to visit a friend. I warmly recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting Kathmandu!

Dinesh and his family are lovely. They are friendly and hospitable. Dinesh is very interesting and great to talk to and hang out with. Long story short, I enjoyed my stay here so much that I came back a few days later when I returned to Kathmandu. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything Dinesh!

Nima's place is located above a cafe/restaurant that is popular with local Nepalese people, however it is a relaxed environment and never got too busy. We really enjoyed having a cafe/restaurant right downstairs ☺️. The breakfast included is very good and everything we ate from the restaurant was delicious. There are also several nice restaurants nearby, as well as an artesenal creamarie across the street. The room itself is big, bed is big and very comfortable, plenty of counter space, and hot water in shower very quickly. The cafe/hotel is a little tucked away from the main street, so it is a quiet and peaceful environment with lots of plants and some trees. The people working there are very nice, welcoming, and make you feel at home.

The home was wonderfully cosy and felt right at home from the first day. It was really sad to leave after staying 6 nights here. Peaceful surroundings, yet also conveniently located. Easy for taxi drivers to find. BIA cafe is within walking distance. There were no power outages and drinking water was provided.

I will go to Daham kitti to take 10 day’s courses so I decided to stay at this place, 10 minutes walk from here to the meditation center— though walking with luggage may be hard because part of the road is uphill. Ashish and his family are great hosts, very helpful and hospitable. I love the traditional Nepali food they provided, it’s really nice I didn’t have to go out for food. I wish the bathroom could be more spacious and cleaner— but it seems that’s all they could provide for present. No AC. And it’s noisy when car or truck pass by because it’s located just beside the road. Overall, great hosts and interesting guests to meet with.

I had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful homestay in Nepal, and I must say, their service was exceptional! The hosts were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The accommodations were cozy, clean, and felt like a home away from home. I truly appreciated the personalized attention and care they provided during my stay. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a genuine and memorable Nepali experience!

It was a peaceful stay , our Host was really helpful always, we asked for Dinner and they prepared it really well it was tasty will recommend if you want to get some taste of Nepali’s home food you can always ask they will be happy to provide. The area is little far from Shree Pashupatinath Temple and main area but connected with bus and other transport services the bus stand in walking distance. Their place is really neat and clean . We have had an amazing stay at Kathmandu Mega Appartement, which is perfectly located with many things to do nearby. Thakur was a great and thoughtful host, making us decide to add a few more nights here after traveling around Nepal.

A great project here in Kathmandu! It felt like home to be here and it was great to interact and be surrounded by students who are advancing their practice in hospitality. Very friendly, kind, helpful. Debendra was great at communicating, and very welcoming. It was nice to meet him and learn more on the project here. If you’re looking to stay anywhere, stay somewhere where you can contribute to the lives of locals. I’m definitely coming back. I loved the vibe here. Thank you and keep on the good work.

Jennifer's place was great, especially the mattress and pillows were very comfortable and were memory cotton that allowed our tired body to relax, rest very well.The house provides a place to dry clothes, and there is a hair dryer which is very rare in Nepal.The environment is also good, waking up to the sound of birds chirping in the morning, and the breakfast is abundant.The staff served us warmly which I absolutely loved.

The apartment is great, very clean, really spacious and we had our own kitchen. It's not too far from the centre (Thamel) but far away enough to feel a bit more peaceful! We were very grateful to be looked after by Kalpana when we fell sick, she cooked us some lovely breakfasts and dinners and got us some medicines etc. Ram and Kalpana have a lovely family and we enjoyed being invited up to share food and see the children. We would recommend to stay here 100%. Thanks again Ram and Kalpana!

We had an amazing time at Babu's and Belku's homestay. They welcomed us as part of their family from the first day, offering help and advice with any issues we encountered, organizing trekking (day and week-long), and taking us with them for local festivities. They had great internet, video calls worked very well. The rooms had great views across the mountains next door or the green hill sides of Kirtipur and were exceptionally clean. We spent a lot of time reading and relaxing on one of the balconies or the big sun terrace. Before our trip we were hesitant whether staying with a local family would be too intense but we are so glad we decided to do so. You are free to move in the homestay as if it was your home, engaging with the family as much or as little as you want, but trust us you will look very much forward to participating in the family life, learning how to cook as amazingly as Belku does, learning Nepali with Babu, or just talking about everyday life with them. This is our second time in Nepal and only now we feel like we have experienced it for real. The deep insights into Nepali culture, cuisine, and daily life we got in this homestay you cannot get when staying in Thamel. You can visit Kathmandu with a short taxi ride but we were always glad to escape the busy city to the relaxing green rice fields of Kirtipur. It is not overstated to say our stay was a lifetime experience. We greatly recommend to stay with Babu, Belkin, and Aayush.

I stayed one month at the apartment. It is in a great location, remote from the main roads noise and dust. The room is very clean, it is exactly like in the pictures. The internet is fast, breakfast is great, it is a really nice place to stay if you visit Kathmandu, I would recommend it to anyone.

Super comfortable beds, spacious rooms and most importantly, excellent hospitality! I was very comfortable at Tajaa Pha and I really appreciated how helpful my hosts were. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Kathmandu that is surrounded by local life and is not very touristy. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)

We had such a blissful time at Milla Guesthouse - It was our first holiday together as a new family, with our 9 month old son, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The guesthouse is gorgeous, and our lovely room had everything we needed - we particularly enjoyed sitting up on the roof terrace and watching the sun set over the valley. I travel internationally a lot for work and this was the best guesthouse i have ever stayed at. My husband and I also loved chatting with Laxman dai and Sanu aunty, who were so warm and welcoming. They made us feel incredibly comfortable and took so much care playing with our son. We really appreciated it! We can't wait to come back again.
