Whale House at Mdumbi Backpackers

Wow wow wow what a hidden gem. This little house was so perfect, it's even more beautiful in person than in the photos. There are such friendly people all around you. The beach is a short walk and so worth it, it was so private and peaceful even in the middle of December. The house had plenty of space and everything you could ever need, the inside outside feel really was something quite special. Mdumbi is also a really organised backpackers with a lovely cafe/restaurant and delicious dinners, when the other backpackers we'd gone to visit had run out of food. We will definitely be back again soon!

Wow! This place is definitely a little piece of paradise! If you are looking for some rustic relaxation away from everything this is definitely the place to go. It has everything you need and more. Stunning views and very close to a little private beach. Perfect for big or small groups. Outstanding host. Highly recommended! We will be back. Book without hesitation!

On our trip trough South Africa wild view was by far the best stay we have had, if not in general our best air bnb experience of all time! We only wanted to stay for 1 day, but changed our plan almost immediately when we saw where we have landed and stayed over 2 weeks. You will be blown away by stunning views of the green hills, cliffs and deep blue ocean as soon as you wake up and open the door. After a nice lonely morning surf or swim with one of the local turtles, you will be welcomed by the best breakfast in town, which has never been the same meal while our stay. It’s made with love by Steve your host, who is one of the nicest people we have met on our trip. He his so helpful, checks on you, and does anything he possibly can to make you feel comfortable and at home. His dogs Sunny and Dusty are happy to take you on a walk down to the beach on their own. Be aware of lots of cuddles and love from these two. Everything clean,lots of space,lovely people, lovely dogs. ❤️❤

Judy and her place are excellent with a great view and just best to near by spots. She is not just a great host but a great chef and tour guide. I want to especially also talk about the great food that she and her team put on the table for the guests. they accomodate to every request you put forward. Amazing experience always book for more than 1 day.

Our first visit to the Transkei.. what an amazing experience! We loved every minute of it.. The cottage is comfortable, has everything you may need, and the most amazing view of the beach. Leading up to our stay Patricia was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. During our stay Corina was very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend Davisons Cottage for your next visit to the beautiful Transkei! Hope to be visiting myself again in the not too distant future..

A really nice Transkei experience. We enjoyed it so much. It is a special place, nice, quiet, so relaxing. Hot tub and Braai area are great! The whole squad was extremely helpful. From check-in to organizing hikes, fishing, recommendations for the area. A must visit in Coffee Bay.

We made our way to Coram Deo as part of our honeymoon road trip and we are really happy that we did. Dinner and breakfast almost outdid the fabulous view, but not quite! Our room was practical and comfortable and gave us an ocean view, everywhere you turned. We made our way to the beach and up queens rock and felt like local celebrities to the friendly locals. The walk from Coram Deo to Queen Rock via Rock Shack is a must do. We made it our mission to find and pet each of the 8 dogs! We miss Frankie already :) Also immaculate vibes from Bryan.

I can wholeheartedly give the Coram Deo Airbnb a 5 star rating. The view from the room over the bay is breathtaking and the food is great. This place is run with a lot of care and love. Judy and her team went above and beyond. Their hospitality was exceptional. we traveled from far, they were able to do a late check-in, as well as accomodate us with a meal at a short notice upon our arrival. All staff were incredibly friendly and despite the rain the view was incredible and well worth it.
