Some of my favorite moments during my trip to Asia were in the hammock on the porch! Great staff…very helpful. They set up a trek for me which was great. Very basic room but comfortable. It is a little noisy when they play music downstairs but earplugs solved that for me. It is a beautiful village! I would have liked to stay longer.

Clare’s jungle retreat is absolutely stunning—a true hidden gem surrounded by nature. Getting there is part of the adventure: a scenic 10-minute walk from the drop-off point, where you’ll likely have some lovely interactions with locals along the way. Porters are available to assist with luggage for a small fee, which we highly recommend. Upon arrival, you’re warmly welcomed by the effervescent Tia, who provides a fantastic introduction to the accommodation, local community, and available excursions. The on-site café is a highlight, serving delicious meals, with the banana chocolate spring rolls being an absolute must-try! The views from the accommodation are breathtaking, with the added bonus of being away from the busy village center and right on the edge of the jungle. Whether you’re relaxing on your veranda or enjoying a cold Bintang at the café, watching the tubers float down the river is an experience in itself. We loved it so much we tried to extend, but they were booked!

If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay at a good price, this is it! Don’t expect a 5 star resort— this is a family-run joint with cute dogs and cats running around the large, beautiful property. There is AC and a queen bed. They will answer and arrange all your questions (including transportation), include home-cooked breakfast, and are very hospitable and respectful. Thank you so much, would book again!

Excellent Experience at Pondoak Wisata Guesthouse! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I am very grateful for the treatment I received and the help they provided during my trip. They were always willing to answer all my questions and make recommendations on what to do in the area, as well as helping me exchange euros. The atmosphere at the guesthouse is cozy and relaxed, perfect for resting after a day of exploring the jungle. The rooms were nice, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place to any traveler visiting Ketambe!

Had a fantastic jungle Trek with Udin, seeing many monkeys and apes, local wildlife and plants. We had a beautiful view from the villa bacoly of nature, a rice farm and a mountain view. thanks so much for hosting!

An absolutely wonderful place to experience Bukit Lawang, the staff is wonderful, and the food is quite nice. If you are going in a jungle trek, ask for Josef!
