Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Kjósarhreppur

Had a very pleasant stay at Sonja and Ingi's place! Place was well-equipped with all the different amenities -- even had towels prepared. Initially faced a bit of difficulty during check-in as the key box was frozen but hosts were patient as we tried to open the key box and get the keys. Location was great! If you will be taking any tour buses/fly bus, the nearest bus stop for pick-ups is at bus stop #15.

This place was perfect! 4 adult and 4 kids. It was absolutely beautiful home and the owners were so responsive and helpful. The house is walking distance to food markets and some restaurants and only 20 min drive from downtown Reykjavik. Walking trails all along the area. We could not have picked a better place to stay for our visit to Iceland, highly recommend this place!

Amazing stay, the place was stunning and in a remote area. Our hosts we great and extremely accommodating. We would definitely recommend it.

If you are going to Iceland, I can not say enough about this space. I got lost the first night, which was my fault and I forgot where I put the code to the lock box. The space was gorgeous, I saw the northern lights from the outside deck, we were on the water, the sunsets were stunning. You could have fit 4 easily, but if you have children, the couches where very comfortable so you could fit more. You had every amenity you could need (well, I could need) I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, it was perfect for us, and the hosts were great. Thank you for a wonderful lodging for our stay.

Great location that’s outside the hustle of downtown Reykjavik. Sweet neighborhood and extremely well-kept home with beautiful backyard. Highly recommend.

Katla's house is spacious, bright, clean and tidy. It is very close to the city center (10 minutes by car), which is very convenient for shopping and eating. There is a gray cat in the house, which is very cute. After 9 days of getting along, we have become good friends and are super happy! I recommend this house!

This is a great location on the eastern edge of downtown Reykjavik, easy 15min walk to center of downtown. It was great to stay in a local neighborhood, nice and quiet. Spacious accommodations - 7 adults stayed comfortably. So much to do in the surrounding area, we had a great home base to do day trips to all the locations +free street parking, major plus. Guogeir's recommendations for activities and places to eat were great, use his advice, we enjoyed them all. Cafe Loki and Kol (do the tasting menu), both excellent restaurants are located within a 10min walk. I highly recommend staying here, great host and house! *Special note, there are two bathrooms. We did not find the 2nd bathroom until part way through our stay, it is tucked in right by the front door to the left, behind an accordion door. :)

I truly couldn’t have been happier about this stay. Wonderful hosts in a beautiful home – what more could you want? First thank you is to Benjamin for being a proactive and attentive host. Very reachable, very informative, very kind. This property is in an amazing location, close to transit and very walkable. The unit itself is gorgeous, with plenty of space and amazing views of the city. Some particular highlights: - multiple sets of keys! Not enough properties do this and it made it so easy to accommodate a large party - lovely kitchen and coffee/tea area. We were able to cooks multiple meals a day with no issues. - best master bedroom ever: one night I could even see the Northern Lights from bed Thank you again for a memorable stay! Hoping to come back someday soon!

Our trip to Iceland was like a dream. Although 1,5 days late because of flights, there were no issues. Everything was ready and Linda was there when needed. The flat is small but enough for two people. We eat and we're gone for most of the time anyway and Just came back for sleep. The location is near Reykjavik but also far away to get easier in the dark for Northern light 🤩 I wish we could stay a little longer...maybe next time! Thank you Linda!!!!❤️

Beautiful spacious apartment with all the facilities you would need. Clear instructions for any appliances (and an Easter egg!) left by the host. Very easy check in and out. Great location with restaurants, bars and shops just a 5/10 minute walk away. We hired a car for driving out of the centre but parking was always available just outside. Gas/petrol stations really close by and the local roads were easy to navigate. Nina was a great host and was very welcoming from beginning to end. 100% recommend - this was perfect!

I spent a great time with my family. The place is amazing and I felt like home. Nearby there’s a supermarket for your needs. The house is well located and the host is very friendly. Thanks Runar for this experience, thanks for all. Iceland is amazing!

Phil was such an excellent host! My family and I traveled to Iceland from America and it was our first time in Europe. He was helpful with information from the moment we booked his place. He gave us recommendations on places to go and things to see. Location could not have been better. He even provided photos to help ensure you knew where to park and how to get into the apartment. We had a freak sink leak and the plumber was there within 1 hour of reaching out to fix it. We didn’t realize we needed special outlet adapters and he had a neighbor bring one over for us while we went out to get some. Phil was an absolute amazing host and his place is STUNNING. The views are great and you simply cannot beat the location. Book this Airbnb if you are staying in Reykjavik!!!

Kristin’s place was absolutely amazing! It was just what our family of four needed for the holidays. Amazing views from the house over looking the bay and the city lights at night. Super comfy beds, and heated bathroom floors!! Thank you so much Kristin for hosting us we will definitely be recommending your place to others whom plan to travel to Iceland.

Ingunn’s apartment was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The heated bathroom floor was a great perk! Ingunn was communicative and helpful, and very friendly. We had a very nice time there.

Such a beautiful home! It’s bigger than the photos, high ceilings, modern heating and so much natural light. The second living room and bedroom are almost their own little apartment in themselves so it provided privacy. Bathroom is huge and washer/dryer worked great. It’s right off rainbow road and close to nightlife/restaurants/shops but super quiet inside. There’s a bar/bookstore around the corner with a nightly band that was phenomenal. Such a great space, we didn’t want to leave!

Robert and Iris were amazing hosts. He was there to greet us at check in after an early morning flight and give us a tour of the home, there were some welcome treats, and everything was so clean and cute! We were convenient to downtown without the hecticness, tucked away in a cute little neighborhood. We had an amazing view from the wrap around balcony to the city's fireworks display. It was truly the most amazing location for New Year's Eve. Communication was excellent, going out of their way to assist us with multiple requests and went well above and beyond. We were so appreciative of everything and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was just perfect for our multi-generational family trip.

Hrafn's home was a great place to stay for our first visit to Iceland. Centrally located in Reykjavik, just minutes from the downtown area.

We loved Iceland, the Icelandic people and our host. Thorunn went the extra mile for us, allowed us early check in and even shopped for some essentials to help us go about our first day. She was communicative and very helpful. House was lovely, some great design ideas and touches and clearly a well loved family home. Would recommend to anyone who needs a home away from home in Reykavik,

What a place! Agusta’s house is amazing, super clean, the views are incredible, easy 30-40 min walk to the centre of Reykjavik along the water or super easy bus transport network (we did not have a car on this trip)… and didn’t need one. Well equipped kitchen. Excellent communication with Agusta leading up to and during our trip with some lovely recommendations. We had lots of snow during our visit over NYE and Agusta left out some snow bikes for us to use on the hill next to her home which our son loved. Such a lovely neighbourhood we would highly recommend staying here. We were a family of 7 adults and a 3 year old child. NYE from Agustas house was spectacular watching the fireworks from the hill over Reykjavik - once in a lifetime for sure. We would come back in a heartbeat.

BEAUTIFUL house in a great location! Only half an hour from Reykjavik but far enough away to see the northern lights and grand natural sights. Perfect home with fully supplied kitchen, ample living room and comfortable beds in the bedrooms. We used the hot tub throughout our winter stay. Next time we’ll use the wood fired sauna. My family and I would certainly love to return. Thank you.
