Cottage holiday rentals in Island of Hawai'i

We were on a family trip to the volcano park. Ari’s property has everything we needed to make this trip an enjoyable experience. The convenient location is such a plus because it only takes 10 minutes of drive from the entrance of the volcano park to the house, and you definitely don’t want to drive too far after a whole day of hiking. Also, it’s very quiet and safe in this neighborhood, ensuring us a good sleep every night. We look forward to coming back to Sri’s house next time visiting the area again!

A Nice cozy place with good views

Our stay at The Maid’s Quarters was absolutely charming. Every detail of the home, from its thoughtful decor to its cozy atmosphere, made for an incredibly relaxing experience. It felt like a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu life. The space was beautifully maintained, and the charming touches throughout the home added so much warmth and character. We left feeling refreshed and would highly recommend The Maid’s Quarters to anyone looking for a peaceful and delightful getaway.

I wish we booked it for another two days. :) It was amazing, the rooms and the bathroom can be heated during the cold evenings, and the dehumidifiers work fine, no strange smells, only the smell of wood and the forest around you. Everything was so comfortable, including the bed! Such a peaceful lovely place, with all the tiniest comfy details like coasters just at the right place where you need them for your tea, cuddly blankets next to the fireplace... Not to mention the tub! Such a treat to listen to the apapane and then the frogs from a steaming tub of water as the sun goes down! THE best place to explore the national park from! We would love to stay here again!

My husband & I enjoyed our stay here. Everything about our stay was PERFECT! The aesthetic, the surrounding, the atmosphere and vibe was outstanding! We only stayed for a night but waking up to the view of a rainforest was beautiful. The hot tub was amazing especially when used at night because the air was crisp and cold. Very relaxing and peaceful. 10/10 recommend to anyone who considers staying here. We will be back!

Amazing location, beautiful cabin, lush nature, and all the tasteful details… this place has it all! We loved it so much we were about to go back a week later again!

Very easy drive to Volcano National Park. 5 minutes to the entrance is a great thing when you're chasing the eruptions. House had all the kitchen essentials and supplies. Nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Nice to not have to do any chores before checkout, cleaning crew takes care of everything. Highly recommend.

Amazing views. Wonderful property full of nature. Enjoyed walking every morning and evening. Host was very responsive and made us feel at home. Thanks for a great stay!

I felt safe and right at home here, great for walking all over Hilo

Had a great time in this private and peaceful accommodation. Ashley was very friendly and responsive and provided us with privacy and easy communication. This place provides a unique and relaxing glamping style stay. It rained very hard the first night and sounded beautiful as it’s an open air room but still felt very secure and everything stayed dry. After the rain the coqui were plentiful so it may not be for everyone but I found it to be soothing and peaceful. My only recommendation is maybe to hang a mirror in the shower room or in the kitchen/bathroom area. Mahalo for a great stay!

We had a great stay at Jasons airbnb. It‘s perfect also for larger groups 5-6 people. For us it was a little over our budget, but it was worth the money because we got a huge airbnb with a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a garden! It‘s very close to the city centre. All good restaurants within walking distance. Thanks for amazing 3 days!

Kelly’s place was perfect. Quiet, private and lots of covered outdoor spaces with lots of room. The home was clean and had everything we needed. She even had a nice notebook filled with things to know and do around the area. We enjoyed our daily walks to the ocean and met lots of people enjoying the area. I would recommend Kelly’s place for anyone who wants to enjoy all that the East side of the Big Island has to offer.

We loved Autumn's jungle cottages and would recommend her place. Great for small groups with separate accommodations. Beautiful outdoor gathering bbq area and every kind of plants. highly recommend

Aunty Janet & Uncle Paul showed plenty aloha to my brother and I. Since we first booked our trip two months in advance, Uncle Paul was quick with responding to our questions/concerns. We were grateful to find a peaceful escape from the busy concrete jungle. Mahalo Nui Loa and A Hui Hou!

This was one of many stays I have had with jade at the MLT. it’s a great place to unwind and recenter. Always such a great time over on kalapana side and the temple is a great place to enjoy that side of the island. My friend forgot her jacket with her credit card and ID in it and Jade was very helpful and responsive. Very easy to get the jacket back with everything still in it!

This place has all the creature comforts you could need (and then some more) while visiting Volcano National Park. The place sits just 10 mins from the park, making night viewing of the eruption simple. The house has everything a family of four could need and a wrap-around porch for sipping coffee or tea and just listening to the coqui while completely surrounded by the lush rainforest flora. Nice to have access to a washer and dryer as well!

This place is incredible. Pietra and Joe created a magical kingdom in the jungle, full of wonder, civilized yet wild, fun, artistic and functional. The cottage was impeccably clean, well appointed, comfortable and spacious- it has just enough of what you could need. Their informational notebook was thorough with fabulous recommendations. The cat, dog and chickens were a bonus. I greatly appreciate being off the grid and in a quiet (other than the sounds of nature), remote, open air yet screened in, wild place while feeling cozy, with all the kitchen amenities, and able to go for walks from my door. This place was perfect.

This Airbnb is absolutely delightful. It’s in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood and only a short walk to the ocean. The inside is well appointed and comfortable and the outdoor shower is just gorgeous! We were appreciative proactive nature of the host and all of their local recommendations. We’d definitely stay again.

Jenn’s place was just fabulous. Top notch all around. The spacious lanai and beautiful broad views are hard to beat. We can’t wait to return as this is now one of our favorite Airbnb’s thus far. And Jenn was super nice and extremely helpful. Couldn’t recommend it more highly!

This place is amazing, it is very close to Volcanoes National Park which was the reason for our visit. The cottage is very private, clean and well decorated.

If you're adventurous, looking for something unique, wanting to immerse yourself in the area, and want to wake up surrounded by nature, this is it! You can enjoy a hot tea at breakfast while listening to the birds, looking out through and over some awesome jungle plants, and enjoying the morning dew.

This little cabin in the coffee field was very comfortable, clean and peaceful. It is off the beaten track but still very close to beaches and activities. It was so great to sit on the lanai and watch the sunset over the ocean, or have morning coffee surrounded by birds and geckos! Very private! Nick is a friendly and responsive host.

This was the most memorable place we could ever imagine staying. The driveway was a challenge but the stunning view and fresh avocados growing on the property made it worth while. It’s the best place to view the sunset too! It truly set this trip apart from any other trip. Way better than some hotel

Beautiful, clean house with a beachy feel. Kids loved the abundant green geckos, spacious yard with tons of birds, and a cute little window seat. We loved the clean house/beds, great windows, well stocked kitchen, peaceful nature sounds and perfect temperature for sleeping. Near a beautiful part of the coast for crashing waves and scenery, and good proximity to volcanoes national park and popular waterfalls. Centrally located but did still feel like we did a fair bit of driving (it’s a big island!) Really enjoyed our stay, and Suzy was super quick to respond to any questions, and genuinely seemed to want us to enjoy the natural beauty of this part of Hawaii. Mahalo!
