Perfect hostel for a tight young budget (especially in this country where everything is expensive) Unbeatable value for money. Great welcome 24/7. High school locker available to drop off your belongings (take your own padlock to avoid buying one from them) The restaurant and bar are under construction (for a few more months) which is a shame because the exchanges and meetings/discussions are mostly close to the rooms and in the kitchen, which can make a lot of people in the same place and a lot of noise especially in late hours. They offer essential (free) boul quies of course. Well located hostel within a 10min walk, you can explore a good part of the city, at least the most interesting neighborhoods. Thanks to the hosts for their advice (a storm occurred during my stay, delaying my flight by a day) weather and directions during this exceptional situation.

close to the bus station, and downtown it has great kitchen and there’s a grocery store not far from the house, so i recommend you to cook your own meal here room is super cozy and you can even leave your bags before the check-in time

Booked Midgard because of the glowing reviews. Was a little nervous about the shared dorm rooms as I was traveling with a 9 year old, but we ended up having the room to ourselves. The place has a nice atmosphere and seems to be frequented by mostly young travelers who are friendly. There’s a shared kitchen that always seemed to be packed with people so we just ate at the restaurant. It was delicious but expensive (~$35 USD for a burger and small desert). The vibe here is why you come. Really wished the time limit for the rooftop hot tub and sauna was later than 10pm, as it was still light out at that time, but the staff did allow us to stay until 10:40. Showers were clean and private. I was worried that it would be a competition to snag one of the seemingly limited shared bathrooms but there never was. This is a great place to meet other travelers as it draws a certain, friendlier type. The staff seemed to be well taken care of as they were equally friendly.

Well-maintained and clean accommodation, friendly and courteous staff. I really liked the bar area, original and cozy. The kitchen does not have a stove, but only a kettle and microwave, and there is also a restaurant. The only negative thing for me is that it was very hot in the room, so I didn't sleep very well, but I have to say that I suffer from the heat, so for cold people it's fine

Had a great experience at Johann's airbnb. I had a couple of questions that were promptly answered. Location is great. Nice proximity to downtown shops, restaurants, and bars. Nice convenience store across the street. Would stay again! Thanks Johann

We enjoyed our stay! Only a 5-10 minute drive from Reykjavik city center and it was very easy to park outside the airbnb for free. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms and showers were also very nice and we never had to wait to use them. Self check-in was easy because the doors were unlocked with a code.

It was one of my best Hostel experiences. Everything was easy, clean and in a good quality. Thank you! Even if it is outside the city centre, you can reach it in 40 Mins. A café, bakery (recommend the cinnamon buns) and a supermarket are next to the hostel. I used the Flybus which picked me up at the Keflavik airport and dropped me at the hostel and other way around. What a luxury!

Amazing place! The view is incredible there and on the drive there (we can from the north west). Saw some caribou on the drive up the lane. Pretty amazing! Host was incredibly nice and helped with restaurants to go to. Djupivogur is only 20 mins away. The hotel restaurant was well worth it. Would stay here again!

We arrived at night and the road up to the house was dark. However, it was so quiet, clean, and even though it was a guesthouse, everyone was respectful, so I rested comfortably.

DONT PARK IN THE GARAGE IF YOU HAVE AN EARLY FLIGHT TO CATCH. Take the street parking. I learned my lesson and couldn’t get my car out of that car park until 7am. With that aside this place is well worth the stay especially for what they’re charging. I stayed in the smaller 8 person dorm and it wasn’t bad. It’s a hostel so if you’re not familiar with sleeping in the same room with strangers I’d go somewhere else. Bed and sheets were clean. I’d stay here again!

This is centrally located and within walking distance to downtown Reykjavik. The room was as described as well as very clean and sanitized. The check-in and Check-out were both so smooth as I was provided with very detailed information prior to arriving. There were multiple bathrooms/showers, very clean and sanitized as well. I would highly recommend the location for your stay in Reykjavik.

Aldi’s has a wonderfully clean and organized rooms. Their check system is safe and easy. I would recommend for anyone who is looking for affordable options and who don’t mind being away from the busyness but want to enjoy a chill and quiet location. They have all the little perks and amenities too. There is parking available and it is close enough to everything. Whether it’s the port or downtown area or some other destination you are not too far away. Have fun on your travels, y’all!
