Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Honshu

The hosts, Seko and Hiro were super friendly and helpful. Their communication before the trip was excellent. My son and I were there for skiing and Seko had the inside scoop on daily snow conditions at the local ski resorts. As skiers know, this area gets crazy amounts of snow and Hiro always had the parking area cleared of snow well before anyone was up. The included breakfast was a nice touch, all prepared by Seko and her help. You can get dinner at the lodge which is nice since restaurants are a bit of a walk into town. The food they serve is excellent and very affordable, some of the ingredients are grown on their farm. There's a warm room for drying ski boots and snow scrapers/brush are available if you are using a car. I would absolutely stay there again. Thank you Seko and Hiro!

Jacob and Josie and Justin at Altitude Madarao looked after us really well. They provide breakfast every day with variety of choices. There’s a slope just about less than 100m walk and you can get lift passes and gear rental in the shop near carpark 7. Great host overall, highly recommended to anyone. They try to create homely atmosphere, where we felt from the day one. Thanks team Altitude Madarao..

The place is secluded, tug a few hundred meters away from the busy main town, yet very accessible to the town and ski resort by foot. I came in the winter and the scenery is just unreal. The house itself is wooden structure and it's warm and very cozy, feel right at home. Even though it is shared bathroom and toilet, they were all maintained very well and clean. I stayed in a single room that is actually large enough to fit three people, which made me very comfortable. Lastly, Ado is an amazing person, straight forward, reasonable, helpful, cool and very friendly. The other staffs were also very chill to vibe with. Overall, my stay here was excellent, and I would recommend this place to anyone who is in no hurry, and just want a place to chill, or just want a cozy place to rewind after a long day of adventure out there. 這間乾淨，溫暖，老闆員工好相處，非常酷又很有家的感覺。是個出去玩一天後可以好好休息的地方。

Great lodge in a beautiful area. Kieren was super kind and helpful for our whole stay, going out of his way for us, and making delicious food every morning and night. We were able to chat with other guests during the meals, but also we could choose not to. There is a nice spacious bath which we were able to use all to ourselves at a time of our choosing (there were few other guests). I can't recommend this place enough, if you're in the area definitely stay here!

Had a lovely stay at Kaiya lodge, the accomodation was cozy, very clean, breakfast was great and all the hospitality staff - Trent, Amy, Mai and Momo - were perfect hosts, friendly and helpful. location is near the main gondola so good for those who wish to ski/board frequently. Walkable to the main street for restaurants. terrain in Nozawa village is hilly so just be prepared to walk up and down slopes. Mark the main host was quick to reply my Qns and sent very helpful info ahead of the trip. thanks Mark! Overall value for money stay!

This place is very nice and he is a great host. The location is perfect for ski trips or adventuring in the mountains. We had a group of 5 and it fit us perfectly.

Our stay with Kazumi and Takashi was a real enrichment for our Japan trip. The rooms are cozy and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and has given us nice evenings. The location is a bit remote but very idyllic. Despite very wintery conditions, the accommodation was easily accessible even without four-wheel drive. We loved the hospitality most. The communication was very straightforward. We were even able to rent equipment for ski tours on site. Takashi spontaneously took a tour of his local mountain with us. Great place to stay, great and comfortable soak, very quiet room, excellent value for money!

The lodge is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and a serene atmosphere. The rooms are not only spacious but also incredibly comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to answer our questions and provide recommendations for local attractions. The breakfast was not only delicious but also varied and plentiful. We especially enjoyed the fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the homemade sourdough bread. Thank you for everything.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The baths were great, and the vibe of our apartment perfectly reminded the traditional Japanese style, which we loved! The breakfast included was also a real plus. Thank you very much for everything you offer, highly recommend!

We had an incredible stay with Annie and Dutchie. They both went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We have stayed at many air bnb’s and would have to say this is our favourite! The food and conversations with them and other guests was an unexpected bonus. Madarao is a wonder mountain surrounded by a cute town which is easily walkable from their lodge or they provide a shuttle to many local spots which is also an option. We did rent a car which helped us explore other mountains during our ski adventure. You won’t be disappointed if you stay with Annie, Ditchie and their super attentive staff!

We had a lovely stay at the lodge. It was perfect for our ski trip - being close to the mountains and convenient for ski rentals. The team made it easy for us throughout our stay including getting to and leaving the area. The common area was cozy and perfect to relax in during bad weather.

The place is amazing for a getaway from city life. We could just stay there for the weekend and enjoy the surrounding countryside. It looked exactly like the picture provided. Toshi is very responsive and helpful. We really owe him big time. He made sure that our needs were met. Toshi and his team are simply the best!

Use for the third time.I had a party with music privately, but since this time, there was also a large speaker in the open air, and I had a satisfying event.Until now, it was only indoors due to weather problems, but I am very satisfied with being able to use the outdoor for the first time.As usual, everyone was kind and helpful.I hope to use it again next year.

My family used it with four🐶 people and one pet.It was my first time using Airbnb, so I called several times before booking, but the response was very good, so I went there with peace of mind. The cabin was old, but well cleaned and clean.I brought ingredients and at night I baked teppanyaki on a hot plate, and cooked a lot in the morning, but it was easy to do because I had all the cooking utensils. There were many types of hot springs for the size, and the open-air bath was stunning. The next day, in nearby tourist destinations, It was also good to go to the dream suspension bridge and Okuoi-kojo Station.I'd also like to visit during a different season.Thank you for your time.

We loved staying at Naomi's place. Nori and Naomi were super friendly and helpful. Nori speaks excellent English too.

Very nice place to stay

I stayed three people for two nights and three days. The whole facility was very good. There are two lodges that I stayed in, with separate bedrooms and dining, and all of them are air-conditioned.The kitchen is also equipped with a full set of cooking utensils, glasses, plates, and other utensils, so you can cook. The management building has a dining room and a bath, and you can use it freely in time.The baths were open-air, deep bathtubs, and saunas. Guests can also take a bath in the Gorge for about 20 minutes by car. The river was nearby and it was a very nice environment to take a walk. The guidance, etc. was polite and kind. It was a very good accommodation.Thank you very much.

I entered the hot spring after checking out, but the open-air bath was also spacious and very relaxing.It was nice to have a small but sauna.

Yusan and Shigu have created a fantastic guest house and you are treated like family. They are incredibly warm and a lot of fun. They are also fantastic cooks and helpful guides. I met quite a few people staying there that return every year, because its such a gem of a place. Its easy to walk into town (about 20 minutes) and to Kanko and Onsen ski resorts. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Ill definitely be back!
