Ogee, one of Tasmania’s top restaurants, has expanded its offerings with a boutique townhouse, The Guesthouse.
The space
Airbnb's 2025 Best Design Finalist; The Ogee Guesthouse is a thoughtfully renovated heritage townhouse located adjacent to its sibling restaurant, Ogee.
Nestled in the heart of North Hobart, the space embodies the essence of Ogee. With warm tones, soft lighting, and luxurious design features that encourage guests to relax and immerse themselves in good food, great music, and genuine hospitality.
This upscale inner-city accommodation features two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Just five minutes from the North Hobart shopping precinct, it provides easy access to Hobart’s cultural and sightseeing attractions.
Focusing on personalised touches, The Guesthouse offers an intimate retreat where guests can unwind while enjoying the ambience, architectural elegance, functionality, and exceptional service.
The lounge room has been designed as a listening room, featuring locally crafted Pitt & Giblin speakers, an ample selection of records from our personal collection, and a small library of books.
Adjacent is our chef-designed kitchen, equipped with Japanese knives, an espresso coffee machine, stainless steel cookware, and locally made crockery. Whether dining next door at Ogee or staying in, the kitchen caters to every home cook’s needs.
Our floor-to-ceiling tiled bathroom — with red grout, a round-footed bathtub, and luxurious shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath salts, and heated floors — encourages guests to wind down and relax.
Our generous welcome pack includes all the essentials for a comfortable stay: freshly ground coffee, tea, milk, eggs, Ogee made butter, fresh bread, anchovies, Ogee bottled negroni's, citrus and a bottle of wine.
Bookings for Ogee, our sibling restaurant next door are encouraged when staying at The Guesthouse.
The 28-seater venue is the epitome of a small neighbourhood restaurant — inspired by the timeless quality of European bistros. We draw influence from everything local and Tasmanian in all its glory, alongside French and Italian cultural and culinary traditions, to present something humble, yet refined.
Restaurant bookings and more information can be found on the Ogee website.
Additionally, snacks and dinner from Ogee can be arranged in the Guesthouse upon request (subject to Ogee opening hours).
Please Note: Ogee will be closed from 24th December, 2025 to the 7th of January, 2026
Other things to note
Children:
We love children however, the space includes equipment that requires care around little hands — such as the record player, speakers, vinyl records, and kitchen tools.
Because of this, we do not host children under 12.
Please inquire if you have any questions!
Guest Access:
Free private off-street parking is available for one car at the townhouse’s rear entrance. Please note that access via the back entrance involves stairs.
Other:
The Guesthouse has been designed as an extension of Ogee and backs onto the restaurant. As a result, some noise crossover may occur at times.
The space is not designed for events, parties, wedding preparations or non pre-approved photoshoots.
