With three luxurious bedrooms, curated vintage decor and sweeping mountain views, it's the perfect place to slow down and switch off. Explore the river trails, relax on the large deck and authentic porch swing, or make use of the dedicated bike workshop. Perfect for a nature-filled weekend escape or special celebration. Furry friends welcome!
The space
The cottage has high ceilings with beautiful Baltic pine floorboards throughout.
King master bedroom: A beautiful sanctuary with French doors that open onto a private deck with bistro seating - a perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
Second bedroom: Spacious room with Queen bed and French doors that open to the side garden and fill the room with natural light.
Third bedroom: Cozy room with a Queen bed, a rich earthy colour scheme, and located adjacent to the newly renovated main bathroom.
As part of the cottage's heritage restoration, the original layout has been preserved, so there are no ensuite bathrooms. There is a main bathroom and separate toilet, and on the other side of the house a new powder room, with toilet and basin.
Kitchen and Dining: Spacious, warm and welcoming, with a large central island, while the dining room showcases exceptional design magazine-worthy features.
The Deck: The expansive deck is one of the property's standout features and one of the cottage's most loved spaces. The elevated deck opens out from the lounge and offers sweeping views to the surrounding mountains. It features generous seating for eight, complemented by a classic American porch swing! A beautiful setting to relax, dine and take in the scenery - and ask us about special celebration table setting treatment!
A Mountain Biker's Dream: A Purpose-Built Bike Hub!
A dedicated cyclist workshop provides secure bike storage and a fully equipped repair station, along with a relaxed post-ride lounge space to unwind and recharge.

The entire house and terraced property is available for use. Parking for two sedans or one larger vehicle is available in the upper carport, with additional parking in front of the garage (Note: garage parking is a short but very steep incline)
Half of the large shed is a secure, purpose-designed bike hub for storage, bike repair and relaxed lounge.
Other things to note
Please note there are around 20 steps and a pathway leading down to the property, so access may be less suitable for guests with limited mobility or very young children. In this case, we recommend our other property which can be found at airbnb.com.au/h/redgumandstone
Pets
We welcome older and well-behaved pets by prior arrangement (no puppies). Please tell us a little about your pet when submitting your booking request. Millhands Cottage features a fully fenced and secure yard, providing plenty of space for pets to enjoy their stay alongside their owners. To preserve the quality and presentation of the cottage, pets are not permitted on beds or on furniture, must not be left unattended indoors, and should not be bathed inside the house.
We encourage guests to consider these expectations before booking and are always happy to discuss whether the property is the right fit for you and your pet.
Camera
For the safety of our guests and the property, there is one external security camera in the rear yard which faces the carport. Absolutely no indoor spaces or areas within the house, deck, or bike hub are monitored.
Heating: Important Note for Winter Months
The fireplaces are decorative features only and are not operational. Open fires are not available at the property, however, guests can enjoy the outdoor heater on the deck during cooler evenings.

While new reverse-cycle split systems (x4) provide heating and cooling to the bedrooms and main living spaces, the cottage retains many of the characteristics of a historic property and should not be compared to a modern, fully insulated home with ducted climate control.
