The space
Soldiers Point is a picturesque waterside hideaway in Port Stephens and Fifty Five is located on the shores of Sunrise Beach facing North East taking in expansive views of Nelson Bay and the beautiful headlands encompassing it.
THE HOUSE
Fifty Five has been lovingly restored over the last 20 years as our family home. And now we are thrilled to share it with others who can create their own memories here as we have.
Filled with treasures from our travels and a life long passion for collecting... we've left bits and bobs around the house to ponder and enjoy... we offer a library for those lazy days if the weather is not beckoning you outdoors. Children's books and board games are also on hand
The home is entirely yours affording guests privacy and access to the quiet beachfront reserve where you can park yourself with a good book or take advantage of the kayaks and SUPS provided to enjoy the waterfront playground.
Throw in a line or a crab pot and maybe catch dinner to cook for the evening with our fully equipped kitchen and outdoor bbq area or wander to the local cafes and restaurants nearby if you feel like a night off from the kitchen.
SUNRISE SUNSETS AND FULL MOONS
Enjoy the ever changing views whilst preparing dinner or having a quiet afternoon drink on the deck. Take in sunsets and the most spectacular full moons! Watch the storms roll by as the colours of the bay change with the weather.
Sunsets can also be enjoyed on nearby Sunset Beach and we provide a picnic set with rugs and cooler bags and a beach cart so you can easily wander over to the western side of the point to enjoy a swim and sunset drinks. There is also a beach umbrella and chairs and some beach toys for the little people.
Full moons are best in the cooler months whilst sitting by the fire pit on the waterfront deck listening to the lapping of the waves ...it's pretty special!
PET FRIENDLY
We love pooches at 55 and welcome them here with a limit of 2 per stay
We charge an extra fee as we’re sure you understand there is extra cleaning needed when pets stay
We supply bedding, beach towels, shampoo in our doggie welcome pack
Don’t forget to add them in the booking
WILDLIFE
Dolphins pass by here most days on their daily commute across the bay. Birdlife is in abundance! We have a resident koala in the park across the road along with some little possums who use the fence as their track at night. There is an old blue tongue lizard by the clothesline who may surprise you when you least expect it!
GARDEN
Fifty Five has homegrown herbs and seasonal greens growing in a cottage garden setting for guests to enjoy. We provide a little garden kit so you can wander and choose your flavour for your culinary creations. Its also a lovely space to pull up a chair and take in the garden and its plantings.
KITCHEN / BBQ AREA
Equipped with all you need to prepare meals for your family and guests we provide a large oven with gas cooktop with an old chopping block to prepare on.
A fridge with ice maker, filtered water and dishwasher.
Espresso machine with bean grinder for the serious coffee lovers and a selection of teas supplied to get you started with fresh milk.
A sandwich press along with the usual kettle and toaster.
In the pantry there is a selection of herbs and spices with salt & pepper grinders and olive oil and balsamic vinegar provided.
The outdoor entertaining area on the western side has a large table seating 10 with bbq and utensils and extra cutlery making a great space for outdoor dining for evening meals

There are 4 well sized rooms all with ceiling fans.
All beds have beautiful linen and loads of cushions!
The Master
Upstairs is the largest room with a king size bed, ensuite, a sitting room and private balcony overlooking the bay. Walk in robe or doubles as a baby room with porta cot supplied ...but there are stairs!

*****Please note the sofa bed is only suitable for children or one adult. Located in the library which is just off main living area so privacy is limited but it has an amazing view to wake up to 😉 We provide a privacy screen ***** There is an extra linen fee of $150 per stay for the sofa bed ****
The main bathroom has large bath tub and separate shower .. and a loo of course!
A small ensuite style bathroom is located close by to the Palm & Nautical rooms
There is an outdoor shower on front deck to wash off the salt and sand
Beach & bath towels are provided
LAUNDRY & DRYING ROOM
Full laundry with washing machine and dryer.
A dedicated drying room for those rainy days to dry beach towels, wet suits and beach accessories
It also houses a small beer fridge for extra supplies in

Guest access to all areas except for cleaners rooms and boatshed.
Other things to note
We provide a complimentary meet & greet host who will arrive with a welcome box of something nice when you arrive at the property.
You will be contacted prior to your stay to arrange a time and help plan any activities or special requirements during your stay.
We can assist with catering, restaurant bookings, baby sitters, dog sitters, tours, massage in house or pamper services.
We encourage families of all ages at 55 but we do ask that young toddlers be supervised on stairs and decks around the house. Inside is filled with trinkets and bits n bobs so you may have to move things out of reach if needed 😉
Plenty of parking - 1 car garage and space for 2 -3 in the driveway or boat trailer
