Walnut Tree House B&B near Norwich

Fascinating 18th century Norfolk Farmhouse, not on an active farm any more and only 20 minutes from Norwich, the UEA and Norfolk & Norwich Teaching Hospital. It contains most of the original features, including oak beams and windows and an inglenook fireplace. It is filled with arts and curios from around the world. Off-road parking. There are two delightful bedrooms with south-facing views over the garden. One room has a double bed and the other twins or a super-king.. BOTH OF THESE ROOMS SHARE A PRIVATE BATHROOM SO WE ONLY LET THEM TOGETHER FOR FAMILIES OR CLOSE FRIENDS. FOR THOSE WANTING ONE ROOM ONLY THE BATHROOM IS FOR YOUR EXCLUSIVE USE. There is a wash-hand-basin in each bed room. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in your room. The sitting room for guests’ use is large but very cosy with wood-burning stove set in an inglenook fireplace. An HD widescreen television is provided.. WiFi is available and access to a pc will be given if you do not have a laptop or tablet with you. A wide range of books and magazines is available combined with a variety of games and puzzles. A study area is available with those with work to do! Breakfast is a delight with a choice of full English or specialities such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Continental breakfast consists of fresh fruit, yogurts, toast, croissants etc served with home made preserves including Mulberry Jam [from our own tree in the garden] A vegetarian option is always available. We source all ingredients locally as much as possible as Norfolk is renowned for its agricultural produce. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements - we can cater for all diets. North Tuddenham is situated in the heart of Norfolk, surrounded by farmland and country lanes but still close to the celebrated North Norfolk Coast and the fine City of Norwich (13 miles) one of England’s great medieval cities. Guided tours of Norfolk and Norwich are available on a pre-booked basis and can be designed to suit individual guests’ interests.

Tea and coffee in room. Dogs very welcome but are owners' responsibility at all times.

Lovely calm & quiet room with private en-suite bathroom, & comfy double bed. I offer free breakfast to help yourself. 15-20 minutes walk from the Lanes & market, 3-5 minutes to nearest pubs & shops. Access via it's own staircase to double bed room with separate private bath shower,and toilet,all on the same landing. The house is old so some floors are un even and there are quite a lot of steps..There is no TV in the room but there is WiFi. Tea and coffee facilities are provided.

Jilly is a gracious kind and knowledgeable host - her dogs Paddy and Mango are so friendly and cheeky. I had the best stay with Jilly - 5 mins walk to the town and away from the noise and bustle of a lively city centre. I can tell Jilly is an amazing cook and look forwards to visiting again - highly recommend Jilly as a super host home !! THANK YOU JILLY YOU ARE A STAR ⭐✨

Thank you Emma for your hospitality, the clean, quiet, comfortable bedroom, with its spacious en-suite bathroom. I appreciated the interesting books and small vase of primroses. Breakfast downstairs was a real treat. The house is within easy walking distance from the station, buses, shops and sea. There is plenty of parking space in the road. I had a very relaxing enjoyable stay.

A gorgeous peaceful house with a gorgeous host! Aly was super responsive and attentive, whilst also being very chilled out which made us feel right at home. The house is so cosy and unique, with Fozzie her beloved pooch co-host around for breakfast belly rubs which was a particular highlight for us :) we loved our weekend stay!

We loved our stay at Maire’s beautiful house. It was the perfect location, close to lovely sandy beaches and inland attractions, such as Bewilderwood (a brilliant woodland theme park). The house is a sympathetically restored Georgian farmhouse with large, comfortably furnished rooms. The lounge looks out onto pretty gardens and was such a relaxing place we found it hard to drag ourselves out each day. We stayed with our two children and although they had their own twin bedroom next to ours, our bedroom was large enough for us to put their mattresses in our room so we could all be together. Maire only ever has one family staying with her at a time so you have lots of privacy. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options and it included Maire’s homemade jams, marmalade and local honey. Maire was the perfect host and told us all about the local area, things to see and do and the history of her house and its surroundings. We really loved our stay and hope to be back soon.

Beautiful house and garden. My room was lovely and bed comfy. Sheila was very friendly and welcoming and provided me with lots of choice for breakfast each morning. She was very kind over an embarrassing splilt drink accident! It was the perfect retreat after a full day with Grandkids who live locally!

Tracy provided such a great place to stay. The room and ensuite bathroom have everything you need. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Good wifi. It’s a really peaceful space. The garden is stunningly beautiful. Easy parking for my hire car. Grocery shop and chemist very close by. The angel across the road has breakfast, but Tracy provided cereal choices and juice if I wanted it, which really came in handy. There are nearby places great for dinner also. Tracy Ann is really lovely. Leaves you to your own devices when you’re staying, unless you need her. She is super helpful if you need anything. I stayed during summer and the room doesn’t get too hot at all. The fan was plenty. There is good heating as well. Definitely recommend staying!!!!!!

Alison’s Top Deck apartment was an amazing find when visiting friends on a houseboat directly opposite. The Top Deck is a beautifully configured loft space easily making you feel as though you are in the Master’s quarters of a galleon. Cleverly chosen pieces of furniture adorn the accommodation, the fridge was topped up with provisions for breakfast, fresh flowers were in a vase and a view of the river Waveney from the window made for a very enjoyable two night break. Thank you Alison for all your help.

My wife and I spent a fabulous couple of days at Ye Old Saddlery, the location was great and we took advantage of the warm weather to get in some great walks through to nearby Horning and Wroxham. Our room was clean and spacious with lovely touches like fresh cakes and milk. We had a lovely dinner in the pub opposite and felt very welcome. Breakfasts were fantastic with a great selection and really helped fuel us for our walks. A wonderful stay and we hope to return again soon

Another wonderful stay! Such a homely place with warm and friendly hosts. The B&B is in a lovely location - very close to the town and the sea front. Breakfast was great and parking available on the drive. Everything is spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back in the New Year.
