Holiday houses in Espinhosa

The place was amazing. The surrounding was beautiful full of trees and life. All the animals on the farm are so sweet. It is so nice to take a walk around and pet the animals. We came there in February which was a bit colder. Rolando made sure we always had wood for the fireplace. We were very warm welcomed by Rolando, Dulce and the dogs. During our stay Rolando and Dulce made sure we felt welcome and that we had all we needed. Near the farm there is a small grocery store and a cafe which were lovely. Dulce made us soups. The stay was lovely. Dulce and Rolando are great and kind people. We would love to come again.

We had a fabulous stay in the Douro Valley. Jesse’s home was perfect for us. The heaters worked beautifully and we even lit a fire on the cold evenings. The views were like a dream. The driveway was a little intimidating the first few times, but we got used to it pretty quickly. We decided to drive up about 1/4 mile and turn around in a parking lot instead of trying to do a 3 point turn on the street. Once we figured that out, we were fine!

Magical location in the Douro Valley. Maria was wonderful, we had everything we needed for a 3 night stay in winter. Can’t wait to come back in warmer months to see the full beauty of the Douro.

Enjoyed a peaceful stay in Esphinhosa. The house is very inviting with plenty of room. Views are amazing with the vineyards across the lane. Virtually no traffic since it is the 2nd last place on the road. A leisurely 5-minute stroll to the little hamlet of Esphinhosa. There's a very small coffee bar & grocery store in town. It has the very basics to get you through. If you plan to make your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen, remember to purchase your groceries on the way. For large luggage, you will want to access the 2nd floor from the back door up the hill rather than using the spiral stairs. Also, Google Maps took us straight through Espinhosa. To squeeze through the houses where R.Direita meets R.dos Valados, we had to fold up the mirrors on our Dacia Duster with likely only 1/2" to spare on either side. Make sure to use Rua Cimo do Povo and follow the signs for Valado Houses. Good local food at Restaurante Pesqueirense in São João da Pesqueir.

This accommodation is by far the best I have booked through this platform over the years. The advert really cannot prepare you for how beautiful this place is in real life. The views, the surroundings and the accommodation itself are absolutely gorgeous. Upstairs has indeed two bathrooms, but all three rooms downstairs have their own en-suite. Which gave are group of 18 more then enough space in the mornings and afternoon. The central fire place is amazing, and more than enough wood is provided underneath the house. The natural surroundings of the place are also our of this world. There is a small stream going accros the land, which results in a waterfall near the pool, the sound is so peaceful. Diogo is amazing, friendly and super flexible. as our flight arrived early & airport proceedings were speedy we asked if we could check in earlier. That was no problem at all, as Diogo was not there yet, his housekeeping team let us in. Thanks for letting us stay here, maybe until next year!

To stay at Ricardo’s house is a one of a kind experience. The house is in the middle of an old wine yard. You can walk for hours on the terrain, which has multiple levels of wine ranks. Private waterfall and forest. There are some donkeys, they are the natural lawn mowers. We were there in February, which means cold nights. A big pile of wood in the shed next door, which you can use the burn in the wood stove to stay warm or the inside BBQ. (In summertime it is prohibited by the state to BBQ outside due the risk of forest fire) Douro valley is beautiful, you’ll need some driving experience though (we ended up on the narrowest en steepest roads, in thick fog, big thrill!) Coffee house around the corner, restaurants close by and even a Go Kart track at 4km. I could tell way more, but I won’t. This is a must see and a highly recommended stay.

Beautiful villa with breathtaking views!

When the wildfires created anxiety and uncertainty about our stay in Casa Rustica, Elisabete took care of everything; she provided a safe haven until there was no further risk in the Rossas area. Thank you so much, Elisabete, you did everything to reassure us and make us comfortable. As for Casa Rustica, it's absolutely wonderful - gorgeous pool, Jacuzzi, relaxing living spaces and a well-equipped kitchen; the garden is lush with fruit and there are beautiful views from the balconies. Thanks to Sandra, too, for a great show-around and providing on-the-spot help if needed. In a nutshell, all fab!

New and very nice, beautiful and quiet place with everything you need. The owner was very welcoming and gave great recommendations.
