Lake house holiday rentals in Donner Lake

We loved our stay! We had a peaceful afternoon on the back porch enjoying views of the lake. We did have some trouble initially with the front door (hint: turn the key to the right more than you think you need to while you open the door), but everything else was easy breezy.

Kelly was a great host.

Our stay at Carnelian Bay was fantastic. Ryan made us feel right at home with Christmas trees and presents for the kids. His communication was prompt and on point, He answered all of our questions and concerns during our entire stay. The house is beautiful and well kept with an amazing view. It was well stocked with everything we needed for a two week stay during Christmas and New Years. We truly enjoyed the house and Ryan made the stay smooth and enjoyable.

We decided to go out of town last minute to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was very easy to find, easy to get into the home. The home is right on the water and is absolutely gorgeous. I loved how it was dog friendly and we were able to bring our two medium-sized dogs. I loved that it had a hot tub. I usually only rent Airbnbs with hot tubs, but I loved how I could just look over and see the water. We will definitely be back in the summertime. We would love to take the kayaks out and maybe go fishing. We saw lots of neighbors fishing (catch and release). Also, it’s a few houses away from the Water Bar restaurant and Lighthouse coffee shop. The neighborhood is very safe and we didn’t feel the need to use the alarm.

Incredible 180 degree views of Lake Tahoe in a rustic 1938 built house. Absolutely charming with the necessary upgrades. We enjoyed that the TV was in a room other than the main living space. It will be an experience we will always cherish with kids and grandkids!

We had a great stay at this property! It was very clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a high-quality coffee machine and a great selection of spices. The host was very accommodating—when we had a small issue, it was resolved immediately. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and hassle-free!

Jennifer’s place was just as described, perfect for our group of 5 for everyone to have their own space. Great location right on Lake Tahoe and 5 min drive to the mountains and village. Amenities were close and accessible and perfect for winding down after long days in mountain. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again when we are back in town!

We loved staying here! It’s kid friendly and safe for kids to run around. Very nice patio to go fishing right outside the patio. There’s fishing rods and a ping pong table in the garage. Hot water heater wasn’t working but Renae called her maintenance guy to come right away to fix it immediately. Thank you, Renae!

The location was very convenient for a ski weekend. Tahoe Dave's is almost walkable for ski rentals; Diamond peak is 15min away and multiple other places within 30 minutes. There conveniently were some open spaces/lots right by the house that we used for a bit of sledding. It was walking distance to the lake (under half a mile). The place itself was clean, nice towels and bedding, well stocked and the washer & dryer was very convenient. The fireplace and space heater kept things comfortable. Make sure to flip the space heater to non timer mode, and don't set the heat super high or it will get quite warm in there. The sleeping setup worked fine for us (pair of adults and 2 kids). The pull out bed couch / mattress being less agreeable than the bed, but no real complaints from the kids. Was also animal friendly but no animal dirt. We brought our poodle, but I'm allergic to dogs generally. I had no allergies nor saw any dog hair at all. We'd be happy to stay there again!

Good location in Tahoe city, easy to get to the mountains

This is a really beautiful property inside. The house is actually much bigger than the pictures indicate. So much comfortable space to gather, watch TV, play games, or just have a private nook to read a book. All the beds were super comfortable and the bathroom towels thick and fluffy. We will definitely stay here again.

Amazing place and exactly how it’s been advertised. Maddy has been on top of communicating. The house was really at great spot. Literally 7mins away from lake. Parking was good. Directions were great. Kitchen was fully stacked. Hot tub was great A lot of space for our family.

Eric’s place was really beautiful. From the family room and deck, where the hot tube sits, is a beautiful view of the mountains and a bit of the lake. Just a 7 min drive to one of the Heavenly lift points and not much further to restaurants and shopping. We had four adults and one baby. They provided a pack n play for the baby, which was so helpful! The fireplace was super cozy and we felt right at home in every room.

Had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The place was clean, stylish, and exactly as described. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure everything was perfect for our visit. The location was great—convenient and easy to access. Loved the cozy atmosphere and thoughtful touches throughout the space. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Our group had a great snowy weekend at Jordan’s home! The space was very cozy with the remote controlled fireplace and hot tub being our favorite touches. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking necessities and we were very comfortable with our group of 7 having lots of space. We had a few WiFi issues but the hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond/resolve. Would stay again!

We had a great time at Roxie's home on the lake. The views are stunning and the house is clean and comfortable. There are a fair amount of rules, and at times it was hard to juggle in our minds which can add a little anxiety on vacation because all of us wanted to make sure we were doing everything right and protecting and taking care of the property as required. Bob and Roxie were super polite and always attentive and quick to respond to messages. We had some bad weather during our stay and all our flights were cancelled and they allowed us to hang out a little bit after our check out time to figure everything out which was very much appreciated. We stayed in the winter but can imagine this home would be great for a family summer vacation with the proximity to Tahoe City and the lake.

Very Nice Cabin located just a block away from the lake. Inside felt cozy and right at home. Had lots of entertainment inside. The host was very helpful and laid out clear instruction. Made our stay really easy!

The home was beautiful, looks and feels larger in person! Everything was clean and new, very modern. Everyone was comfortable. They provided all of the basic needs in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. The beds are very comfortable. The house was clean and cozy. We took a walk down to the beach, it was private, sandy, and beautiful. Very close to south lake, we went to a hockey game and it was a 10 min drive to the Tahoe Blue Event Center. The shower in the master bathroom was huge. The hot tub is a two person tub, but we fit 3 comfortably. This was a great vacation place for us, we didn’t want to leave! Definitely recommend!

Randy and Mona's house is in a great location by the lake, and within a short drive of ski resorts. It well equipped and very comfortable. Randy and Mona were great hosts - prompt and clear in their communication. We had a great time!

What a beautiful little house in a private community! Kings Beach is a gem of a town with options from casual to fine dining and gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe while you explore town. “The deck” at speedboat beach was the perfect stay. Easy to park & check in with all the listed amenities. We picked this home for the hot tub and it’s beautifully maintained. Nothing like hot tubbing with snow and trees all around. Beds were comfy, lots of tv entertainment options, chic interior and all the kitchen amenities you could need. Hosts were proactive with information and made us feel right at home with clear and reasonable instructions. Would highly recommend!!

Qi was a very thorough and communicative host. Super clear instructions for check-in and check-out, as well as for using the amenities around the house. The space itself was cozy and very clean, and it housed our group of 8 comfortably.
