Cabin holiday rentals in Dolly Sods Wilderness

This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. I like that it is in between town and the resorts and really appreciate that it is pet friendly. We enjoyed the view of the valley from the cabin, the fireplace and hot tub too.

Julia was very responsive with any questions I had. Ursus Slumber could not have been more perfect cabin for our girls' weekend trip. The cabin was cozy, well decorated and had a beautiful view. It was also close to Massanutten South Trail, which ended up being a great 6 mile hike and only 30 minutes away.

Overall this is a great place to stay with your family for a good adventure. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating to your needs. There is everything you could possibly need at this property to make your vacation worthwhile!

My girlfriend and I spent our Valentine’s Day weekend at this location. The cabin had extremely beautiful views and was very peaceful! A fantastic getaway vacation in the Shenandoah mountains. Ray was very accommodating and responsive to ensure we had a great stay.

View was great and the place was exactly as advertised. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Locals were very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed the cozy cottage. The surrandings were beautiful. The hot tub was a great addition. Nice size and very clean. The cottage is a great place for a family get away. I will return. Thankyou so much for wverything.

What a cozy, secluded place to spend a quiet weekend away. The kitchen was well-supplied, the beds were comfortable, and the place was clean and tidy. The fireplace and hot tub made the stay especially restful. Paula and Mike kindly offered us a flexible checkout since we had to delay our arrival day. We hope to return with friends sometime soon.

It was a wonderful cabin for a peaceful weekend getaway. The views were excellent, and it was warm and cozy inside even during some especially cold weather.

I loved my stay at this cabin in the woods. It was so peaceful and quiet and was exactly what I needed. Kate and Erek were extremely kind and helpful hosts. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to get away and relax!

This stay was exactly what my friend and I needed for a getaway. The home is so secluded away from everything, it felt like we were the only ones for miles. The house was clean, well stoked with all the amenities, beautifully decorated and super cozy. Cynthia and Wes were great hosts, super responsive, if there were ever a problem during your stay, it would be handled within the hour. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I throughly enjoyed all the special amenities of the Blackpearl. The house was small, but provided everything we needed for my surprise birthday getaway. They provided kitchen utensils plus coffee, linen was clean & hot tub towels were some perks. My only wish was that we stayed longer to enjoy the fire pit and hot tub on these cold nights! Local wineries & breweries plus several caverns to check out, this little area is a gem! Truly the best birthday ever!!!

we loved our stay here! The house was a cozy, with plenty of space for us and our two kids. The board games were a hit! Location was perfect- easy 10 minutes to Timberline, 5 minutes to Davis. Laura was a great host- super responsive and even quickly took care of mailing us something we left behind! we'll definitely stay here again

We had an absolutely wonderful trip at Scott and Courtney’s home! It was obvious that they put their heart into every detail. We had clear instructions throughout the process. The home is beautiful and worked perfectly for our group (7 adult women on a friends reunion trip). The kitchen was perfectly stocked for cooking, the furniture and rooms are a great size and the decor is lovely. The hot tub was a huge hit and it was private and quiet. We will absolutely be back!!

We had an amazing stay, it's a very well equipped cabin, in an amazing, beautiful and very quiet place, exactly the kind of retreat we were looking for. Great mountais view. The nearby town is also very quiet and receptive, where it's easy to buy food and supplies. Su and her husband are amazing people and always willing to help. I can't wait to go back.

The shed/tiny home is spotless, well decorated, quality craftmanship and new stylish decor. The bed is comfortable and the sheets, linens are good quality. The cabin is remote and private. You definitely need 4 wheel drive if the weather is bad. There is a walk from the parking space to the front door. As long as you know it is a tiny home you won't be disappointed. Could not have been cleaner and the kitchen is well stocked. The quality of work on the interior of the shed is exceptional. Definitely an excellent carpenter, attention to detail. Large windows to appreciate the peaceful, private surroundings while you are lying in bed but definitely a small space.

Our family stayed at Sweet Serenity for a long weekend and had a wonderful time! The cohosts were very proactive with instructions and helpful with prepping the place after a recent snowstorm. We were excited to spend time in a cabin along the beautiful Rawley Springs and loved playing in the snow then warming up by the fire. We took a lovely neighborhood walk to Blue Hole, which was the perfect journey for our 2 and 5 year old kids. Our dog was very happy too! We spent a day skiing at Massanutten (about 40 minutes away) and came back to relax in the peaceful space. The beds were super comfortable, bath and kitchen very clean and everything was just as we had hoped and more! We hope to come back during another season for more exploring.

The place was nice and quiet. For someone looking to camp out, but without the tent experience, it was perfect.

Second year staying with Mike & Megan. They are wonderful hosts & their cabins are exactly what you need for a visit to JMU. If you’re looking for a pet-friendly, cozy home away from home, I strongly recommend a stay in Hinton, VA at any of Mike & Megan’s cabins. ♥️ Definitely hoping we’ll be back soon.
