Family-friendly holiday rentals in Des Moines

Amaris is very responsive and helpful and her house is so spacious, clean and well maintained. My kids loved being able to take bubble baths in the oversized tubs and so did I🙂 We also loved the roof top deck and the view was so beautiful especially at night with all the city lights. The beds and comforters were so cozy I want to buy some like that for my own bed! Another thing we loved was after a busy day we could come back to a very quiet peaceful neighborhood home and rest. The location was perfect, within walking distance to all the best restaurants and shops. Lighthouse roasters made amazing coffees and have a really great vibe. We cannot recommend Amaris and her property highly enough. Will be staying there again.

Our stay here was absolutely perfect. The place was exactly as described and even better than the photos let on. The place was spotless and the views were fantastic. Lots of detailed instructions and recommendations for things to do in the area. The only mild criticism I would have is that for a $220 cleaning fee we were expected to do much of the cleaning ourselves. We had to wipe all counters/surfaces, strip bed linens, etc. Happy to do these things as I like to treat AirBnb homes as if they are mine, with the greatest respect. However, that was a bit surprising considering the fee amount. Please know, that criticism is BEYOND minor bc the home was absolutely stunning and let me and my friends have a wonderful time in gorgeous surroundings. HIGHLY recommend!

Angela was an amazing host and her place was perfect for our weekend get away. Loved all the space, the front porch and the hot tub was a bonus. Great restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Philip and Danica's place is absolutely gorgeous, inside the home and out, nestled amongst mossy trees close to the beach. We stayed in winter, with luxurious comforts like soft bedding and baked goodies and treats left for us. The spa is beautiful, pristine, and just an awesome experience if you love the trees around here. The vibe is incredibly warm and cozy, with lots of space (enough for a pool table). We will definitely be back, any season, to rest and recover, take daily hikes, and explore Olympia. The hosts were very kind and hospitable, and definitely go the extra mile to create a cool experience.

Phyllis was a wonderful host. She answered all our questions and the places were perfect for our family with kids. There was plenty for us to do with little ones. We really enjoyed the warm fire place and hot tub which made it a very cozy place for us. Thank you again for the lovely stay.

Errin was a great, helpful host and her place was just what I needed for a quick solo mission to Ballard—a relaxing, safe space that gets great sun in the morning, an easy jumping off point to the rest of the city, and most anything you could need at hand. (And the rare, private hot tub goes without saying.) I really enjoyed my stay, thanks again!

This was always be my favorite Airbnb in equal parts due to the wonderful hosts and the incredible accommodations. Fran and Laurie are very thoughtful and go above and beyond for their guests and they have impeccable taste!

Our stay began with a personal note and pastries from a local French bakery. The space was charming and homey. Renee was very responsive yet respected our space. We enjoyed the patio and garden area which was beautiful. Neighborhood was peaceful and walkable to nearby coffee shops. We left feeling like we made a friend.

A really nice little space to be cozy on a quick trip to the city! It was very private and the accommodation was very nice. Comfy beds, nice rooms, and fairly quiet. Would book again!

We stayed in this place for 52 days. It worked very well for our family of 4 and a small dog. It had plenty of beds, the sheets and towels were very nice quality. The place was roomy and we were comfortable. We missed having a TV in the upstairs because the dog was not allowed in the downstairs. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, silverware, utensils, etc. There was a gas grill that was nice and an extra propane tank for use when we ran out. It was a quick switch and we appreciated this. It was cold for the area when we were there and the heated kitchen floors and bathroom floors were amazing. There was plenty of parking for our 2 vehicles and a trailer. From the description it was unclear if we could use the garage which we could not. There were several doors to the outside with ample deck and patio area. We needed to extend our state a week and they were flexible for us which was helpful.

We really enjoyed the little Farmhouse. Very private and cozy with the heated floors and the fireplace. Everything you need for a short visit to the island! We will be back ;)

Theo & Maria's place was incredibly cozy and exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated Maria's homemade rum raisin cake, the spacious kitchen with great pots & pans and the outside area for the pup to explore. Hope to visit again in the summer!

Lisa is an awesome host and her place is truly a zen garden. Would definitely stay there again and I would recommended it to family and friends.

The home is gorgeous. So tranquil and peaceful -- my family took a week-long vacation on Vashon and Brita's was the perfect jumping-off point. The location is super private, the home architecture is extraordinary, and the backyard garden is expansive. If you're looking for a great place to rest and recharge, this is it. There is a lot of great dishware, artistic elements in the home, and incredible views throughout the home, especially in the kitchen and upstairs bedroom.

Quiet larger clean apartment. I only used one of the two bedrooms (the larger one) - bed was comfortable, and it had the adjoining bathroom. there was a washer and dryer for my use and a full kitchen. Good communication to get to the location. Covered parking lot which I used. Location in unbeatable in downtown Bothell. I walked to a restaurant for dinner about 2 blocks max.

ashley & mike's place was very clean! we had enough room for everyone in my party to have their own bed, and most things were walkable! the neighbors in the condos around us were a bit loud, but nothing too much. wonderful place & wonderful hosts.

The host met me when I arrived to show me around and made me feel right at home. Also, the hosts had left croissants, fruit and yogurt for me as well as fresh flowers on the kitchen table. It's amazing how much difference those little touches can make - I felt welcomed. The property was just as advertised and fit my needs perfectly. The only drawback for me is that the bed has a Tempurpedic (or similar) mattress, which I don't find comfortable, although I know many others like them. Because of the mattress I probably would not stay again - but that is the only reason, everything else was wonderful.

Emma's place was perfect for our family. Loved that there was a box of toys and kids books to entertain our littles. The location is also perfect. Halfway between pike place and the Space Needle, everything was super walkable. Would definitely stay again.

Everything was AMAZING! House was fully stocked, super clean, beds were comfy and nice corner view of the water. A greeter was outside waiting when we arrived and helped us get all checked in. Location couldn’t get much better, walking distance to just about everything. Building itself felt very safe for being in downtown. On the note about downtown it is very loud, but that is to be expected. We had such a pleasant time. Gale was very responsive and helpful in every way. We would recommend to everyone!

This was my 3rd time staying at Kim’s place! This place is great, as it is very walkable to shopping and restaurants and it’s always super clean! Kim is very quick to respond to my questions.
