A fantastic stay - a beautiful, remote location. Great to go off grid for a few days and re-connect with nature. Toby was very helpful and responsive to our every need. Was a great base to explore the area and really enjoyed the sauna too

Lovely property which was an ideal base for a visit to Denbighshire. Short drive into St Asaph and 10 min drive to Denbigh, a fascinating town with loads of history. Parking and access was easy. Beautifully furnished and plenty of space to relax. Will definitely visit again if in the area. Ideal for anyone visiting the Business Park or working in the area.

We loved Bala bunk house!! A group of 8 of us visited for a bank holiday weekend and it was the perfect stay for us. The bunk house is located within a wooded area, with a stream - really beautiful. It has a great outside area to sit and eat your meals as well as plenty of indoor space to relax if the weather isn’t so good. Jane and her daughter were very welcoming and helpful. Bala town is within walking distance which was great to visit the pub! Thank you!

I cannot rate Di and Pete’s home more! My partner and I wanted a quiet getaway for the weekend and Pheasants Retreat delivered that and more. To start, the cottage is unreal. It’s decorated immaculately and spotlessly clean! So homey and everything you need. Comfy bed and sofas, great bath and shower, and the hot tub was clean and toasty upon arrival. We got in a bit later than planned and Diane was lovely and sent Pete to let us in. He showed us absolutely everything we’d need and answered all questions, and was such a warm welcome! We didn’t have a single issue with the house other than the fact we had to leave! We spent a day down in snowdonia hiking and the house was a perfect base. Diane sent me a lovely list of recommendations for nearby places to eat including a fab tea room! I’d recommend this little gem to anyone and everyone, can’t give a better review honestly- can’t wait to come back x

We loved the layout of this place—upstairs living and downstairs sleeping worked perfectly for us. The floors were quite noisy, but thankfully, with toddlers around, most of our group was already used to a little extra noise! If you're comfortable driving up steep roads, this venue is well worth it. It was wonderfully warm inside, so much so that we didn’t even get a chance to use the fire! There are plenty of activities and adventures within a 15 to 30-minute drive, but the on-site games room is a great option for fun as well. While we didn’t get to explore nearby walks, we noticed plenty of people parked close by, suggesting there’s lots to enjoy in the area. The hosts were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable. We’d absolutely recommend this place!

What a place! stunningly beautiful home from home cottage, well equipped, cosy, good location for exploring the area which is stunningly beautiful at this time of year. thank you for the arrival goodies, very thoughtful we had the most amazing week and going home to a house without a stream outside and a cosy fire is going to be difficult 😅

We were amazed when we arrived at the property. I don't think the photos do it justice as the garden and surroundings are beautiful. We had such a great relaxing stay. We really loved the walks around the area and the house itself is very warm and cosy. It was great to have a games room with a fire and we spent many nights having fun playing pool and darts. I will say that if you enjoy pool, the cues and tips are not great so it might be worth bringing your own or bringing some extra tips for the cues. It was also perfect for the dogs as they were able to run around safely and towels and dog bowls were provided. Thank you so much!

Lovely little place for two, nestled in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Place as described and a little bigger than expected. Rest of the site is work in progress as the guys renovate, but the garden (fields!) out the back are fantastic for a quite drink to watch the sunset. Great for walking and biking

I stayed at Diane´s for a month, traveling from Kenya, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The unit I rented was part of the main house but had its own separate entrance, offering privacy and comfort. The beautiful lush, vast garden full of life, peaceful surroundings with horses and birds, lots of different birds, made the experience unforgettable. The location was perfect—quiet and surrounded by nature, yet close enough to Chester and lots of renown tourist destination for easy exploring. The hosts were kind and respectful, ensuring I had everything I needed. I highly recommend Hatton Hall for anyone seeking a peaceful , convenient and private countryside escape.

Absolutely loved our stay at Michael and Tracy’s place. The apartment was spotless, well-stocked with kitchen equipment, had a comfortable mattress, and of course the complementary Welsh tea cakes were an added bonus! Location was perfect, nestled between the river and the hills, with lots of beautiful walks and trails nearby (including a magical fairy glen where I think I lost my thermal shirt; if you find it, enjoy and stay warm!). Also a short walk (~20 minutes) to Betws, where there are shops and restaurants to enjoy. Michael was very kind, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable with regard to what to see and do; he even gave us a lift to the restaurant when we were running late for dinner! Overall, a truly fabulous experience and we’d definitely return :)

The Lodge is incredible, we visited on a very cold February night, but the well stocked wood burner soon got it very cosy! The amount of things Callum has managed to fit into a small space is amazing as well - we particularly enjoyed the projector. There are instructions for everything, which are really easy to follow. The location is great, we found that it was just the right distance for a pleasant walk along the greenway into Chester & back.

Tim met us on arrival and introduced us to the cabin. The cabin is beautifully positioned and located close enough to walking trails and fun things to do. Me and my partner went to lake Vyrnwy, which was great and only a 25-30 minute drive. Tim was incredibly helpful on the morning of departure as I got a puncture the night before and needed taking to a tyre garage. He offered to take me, which I really appreciated. Cheers Tim

Had a lovely relaxing stay at the larches, hot tub was lovely in the evening after a walk into town. Comfy bed, everything you need to cook, cosy layout.

A beautiful, well designed cabin in a peaceful location. Proactive and thoughtful hosts, had the fire ready for when we arrived and advised due to weather warnings. We had such a relaxing stay with the dogs and would visit again.

Cabin location was phenomenal. David and his dogs were really friendly. Cabin had everything we needed the shower was hot the kitchen was fully equipped. One of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in and unlimited wood provided for a toasty log burner. The river view is literally at the bottom of the bed you can hear the river bubbling away. You have mountains, beaches and A waterfall literally on your doorstep. We are definitely going back..

if you're reading the reviews just book it already! hands down the best place we've stayed in. walking through the door you'd think we was the first ever guests, the location is beyond amazing and the walk to and from the car is an absolute bonus more than anything else. when you're in the cabin you feel like there's only you on the planet but then just 20 minutes away there's a tesco which is somthing we always look for but struggle to find. from the stars in the night sky to the birds in a morning there's always somthing to remind you that you're truly out in woods. would also like to add that the DVD collection gives netflix some competition and the projector is a great addition. the wifi is as fast as can be and the underfloor heating is the things dreams are made of. the immediate surroundings of the cabin is fenced in which was great for our dog but the fact you can't see the fence line for the trees makes you feel like you have the entire woodlands to your self.

Pam's cabins are outstanding. They were spotless, the heating was on prior to our arrival so it was lovely and warm. The hot tub was sparkling and easy to use, the kitchen well equipped and the beds beautiful and welcoming. The horse riding on site was wonderful, and there were walks through the woods for our dogs. Pam was always available to help us, and replied quickly to any messages. Thanks for a wonderful holiday Pam xx

Amazing weekend away. Peace and quiet was just what we needed and it delivered. The cabin was perfect in every way. Secure paddock for Bodhi to run about in and us not have to worry. Such a comfy bed I don’t think we’ve slept that well in a long time. Love the extra touches like the towels, the pizza oven and bbq and outside seating area. We’ll definitely be back when it’s a bit warmer to make the most of the unbelievable views! Thanks sally hopefully see you again soon Jon Bex and Bodhi 🐾
