Holiday rentals with a kayak in DeKalb County

We have stayed at many Airbnb’s but this was probably my favorite one! The house was beautiful and super clean! I have never seen a rental fully stocked of everything you could possibly need! Very well thought out. The beds were also super comfortable. Destinie was great and went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our stay! We weren’t able to enjoy much of the outdoor amenities because it was freezing outside so we definitely plan on coming back in the summer!

Great house with amazing view and amenities !! Dave and Destinie are very responsive to our need and very promptly communication to ensure all is good here. There was some issues during our stay ( which is not the host fault) but Destinie and Dave were able to promptly respond and take appropriate action to remedy the issue despite it was late at night (10pm to 12 midnight). we would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for beautiful view, and great location to different natural attractions in surrounding area.

I loved and would stay again

Great place to stay and very clean. It is kinda out in the middle of nowhere we felt like as far as a town to make a run to get something but we had mostly everything before getting there. We stayed for the event going on at Indian Mountain Atv Park which is about 35 min out so parking was a little tight for 3 trucks and trailers but owners were plenty helpful in letting us use the backyard as well. Overall no complaints.

Our group of 4 had a great time enjoying the outdoor spaces and amenities. We fished, canoed, used the fire pit, and relaxed in the hot tub. The kitchen is large and has pretty much everything you would need to cook, although we did have to wash everything before we used it. The location is very secluded and quiet, but it’s a quick drive into town. We would stay again.

We had a great time at the lake house. We could easily spread out. The two dining areas were great for the kids. We enjoyed the hammocks and the kayaks. The host was very friendly and responsive.

We had to evacuate for one of the hurricanes. Jeremy was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. If you like the outdoors try his location. We saw 5 to 7 deer everyday and the forest/parks/waterfalls that are nearby are great. Would certainly stay again.

Angela and James were super hospitable! The rental is a carport away from their home but we felt like we had our own space indoors and enjoyed fishing and kayaking on the river. The fire pit was a hit with the kids at night - we made s’mores and shot fireworks. The interior was plenty of space for our family of five and we were able to easily feed the ping-pong table in the living room for a night and the boys wanted to play. Kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to fix some quick meals. Bring your own cutting board and a sharp knife. :) Would return again!

The cabin was perfect for our family Christmas getaway!! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare great meals. The location is secluded but still close enough to get to stores if you forget something and there is a lot of amazing hiking within a short drive of the cabin. Misti was an amazing host and super proactive in communications and everything was very clear. I would highly recommend! And they decorated for Christmas (even with a tree) so we felt right at home!

Beautiful soundings, peaceful and central location made The Shire a great choice. Too cold for activity on the water but enjoyed hiking in De Soto, glass blowing at Orbix and shopping in Ft. Payne.

Really enjoyed our stay at Lazy River Cottage! Home was clean and orderly and exactly as described with plenty of room for our party of 5. We don't eat out much and prefer to cook our meals at the home so the full kitchen was much appreciated. Making use of the kayaks was a ton of fun. DeSoto Falls hiking trails and picnic area were easily accessible by a very short walk. This was a great home base to explore Mentone and Little River Canyon. 100% would book it again. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Rachel was very quick to respond to my questions, and very helpful! The cabin was just as described. Rustic charm! Beautiful lake view! Kitchen was stocked with spices and condiments. Bathrooms were stocked with toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer. Our family of 6 adults had a lovely visit!!

Lots of space for our family get together. Prime location to get to area attractions (Mentone, hiking, swimming spots). Well equipped kitchens in both cabins. Comfortable beds and plenty of towels. We particularly enjoyed the screened porches. There were kids games and puzzles for inside fun as well as paddle boards and floats for water fun.

Our family had a great time! The fireplaces were fun to roast marshmallows and sit around playing games and music. It was too chilly to kayak but we made it fun either way! Definitely kid and dog friendly. The host was very attentive and responsive. Very clear instructions! I love when hosts leave coffee, it’s the best touch! We love Mentone and this cabin was perfect for our family!

This was the most memorable and relaxing time for our family. The minute we saw this place we knew it must be a return destination. It was super clean, extra spacious beautifully decorated totally equipped with everything we could ever need & plenty to keep us fully entertained. We especially enjoy the beautiful fireplace, rocking chairs, and the festive decorations on the screened-in porch. The view of the river was so enjoyable, both private and peaceful Inside. We so admired the grizzly bear theme throughout the cabin. The entire cabin was just perfect. The open floor plan oh yes, the hiking trails, fire pit, horseshoes and picnic areas were among our favorites as well. A special thanks to Katelyn the host who is very & to the owners who are definitely inspired to make everyone’s visit so special. Thanks for sharing your magnificent home with us. We are truly blessed. We can’t wait to return in the Spring!

Cabin was cozy and everything we needed for a restful weekend. We hope to come back sometime!
