Beach house holiday rentals in Crete

Sometimes it’s such a cliché to say “the photos did not do it justice “ but this is one of those rare occasions when it really does apply.. The Villa Tile is the perfect place for a couple or small family and has everything within a few metres.. the beach literally is on you back door step, next door is a beach bar with a pool which you are welcome to use. The hosts went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us during our stay, even undertaking some emergency sewing and pillow adjustments when we said that the pillows were a little too firm for our liking… We are already planning to come back in May 2025 and hope to use the Villa Tile again.

Very good accommodation! Good location and large and clean! Optimal comfort, everything is equipped and the little touches of the hosts were much appreciated!

Highly recommend! A quiet area, close to everything. We stayed here start of October with our 14 yr old and 3 month old son. The apartment looks like the photos, very clean andy tidy. Very comfortable bed, was huge 💛. We had asked for a cot, which was there. The pool was lovely, very refreshing, solar heated. We were the only ones using it, due to out of main season, an unexpected luxury. The beach is a mix of sand and stones, literally just outside the gate. Within 10 mins walk is a supermarket, pharmacies, a patisserie with huge pain au chocolates - highly recommend, they also had pastries (cheese and bacon, mushroom and ham etc). If you walk along the sea front for about 20mins get into Gournes which has several beach bars, and restaurants/ cafes, we went to Taverna ambrosia, very good even had a baby change area (not everywhere has these) and soft play at the back. It’s a 45 min walk to the Creta aquarium, definitely worth a see. Ioannis arranged several taxis for us.

It was my third time staying at Millys House and it was just wonderful again. ☺️ Location, accommodation, beautiful neighborhood with great bars and restaurants (and friendly cats) - it was all very nice. Very good contact or communication with the landlord, inquiries were answered very quickly. We will definitely visit again! The area is a dream - and Millys House with the nice seating under the tree in front is very cozy. Thanks and best regards, Petra & Jürgen

wonderful stay!

An amazing stay at a gorgeous house on the beach - a pleasure to watch your kids play in the sand while you sit on a private terrace just above. Restaurants (and the people running them) were absolutely wonderful. Its a small area, detached from the city and large tourism projects elsewhere. But Marathi Beach has everything you need for a very relaxing and enjoyable visit. My only comment is that the home lacks an indoor livingroom / dining area. It didn't bother us as we happily ate at the covered outdoor table or sat by the beach in the covered loungers - but this may not suit someone looking to relax inside in the late evening

villa is located in the centre, very close to the beach, restaurants. Nice people around, very helpful. Although sleeping is in a first floor, and kitchen, living room and a terrace is on the 2nd floor, it has sence, because of a beautiful view from terrace. we really enjoyed our 5 nights stay. Thanks a lot

great place, perfect for a familh as well. A short walk to the beach and local taverns. A short drive to Agios Nicholas with great shopping and city walking.

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is very lovingly furnished, clean and has a fantastic location right on the beach. The surrounding area is perfect for sightseeing (close to Chania, Aptera) and hiking. The hosts were very easy to reach and very friendly - there were even some Greek delicacies to welcome us. We would love to come back and can highly recommend this place! Thank you very much!

We were very happy with everything. What confused us was that we thought the place was in Rethymno. The airport (Heraklion) is about two hours by car, but the route and scenery there were beautiful. The weather was quite windy, but we could still always sit on the terrace. Beautiful views, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. A warm welcome! We can only report good things! Beautiful villa in a wonderful setting, the outside space is really spectacular. Everything you could need is available at the villa. We were staying with a 10m old and there were loads of baby items which made our trip so much easier. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating and helped us with recommendations when we asked. Would highly recommend this villa. It’s also within easy driving distance to lovely places on the island.

We were a party of five, my wife and I and 3 30 year olds, our two twins and a son-in-law. We all couldn't say enough good things about this home: the view has to be one of the best on the whole island, relaxing, extremely private and immediately felt right at home. Starting and ending each day with that view, I didn't need anything else, but there is as much to do as you want. For example, just 6 minutes down the hill, you have the great little town of Platka with a few delicious local restaurants, market and a nice sports bar if you want a cocktail...like me. Another 10 minutes down the hill you come to Alymrida, the small coastal city that has nearly a dozen varied restaurants right on the water. 40 minutes away is the charming city of Chania, the jewel of Crete. This home is centrally located, 20+ minutes from the highway to go anywhere you wish to go...but keep in mind your leaving this view behind. I hope you enjoy it half as much as we did.

10 out of 10! This villa was absolutely perfect for our week in Chania! Clean and spacious, plus a very nice pool that’s kept at the perfect temperature for swims at any time of the day. Lia was so lovely and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be staying here when we return.

Alexandra’s place finished off our holiday perfectly. It was better than the photos, with everything you needed. Cristina was great, very friendly and helpful, happy to welcome her to Australia if she comes for a holiday. There are quite a few restaurants around and it is only a short drive into Chania Old town (depending on traffic). The location was great as you could book tours or hire a boat. From this location we went to Balos, winery, olive oil tour and got to know the area. Would definitely stay again or recommend friends to stay. Thanks for making Crete so memorable.

It was one of the best places we visited. The place is new and has everything you need. It was very clean, the view was incredible, and communication and support were excellent. The grill was also great. Thank you so much for the wonderful vacation!

We had a lovely stay at Katerina's place. She welcomed us personally and was always very kind. We felt at home for all the days we stayed there. Chania old town was a bit farther than expected but the two beaches close by were calm and really amazing! We stayed there with our one year old and were able to enjoy the jacuzzi while he was sleeping close by

We had the most relaxing time here! We love remote locations away from the masses of tourists. A truly raw and beautiful spot that is a gem on Crete! The house had everything we needed and was absolutely spotless.

I really enjoyed staying here. The view, the tranquility and in general the apartment was a dream to be in. I felt right at home and didn't want to leave. Always happy to come back. Highly recommend this property.

We stayed at Thomas's house for a relaxing, car-free beach holiday at the end of September. The house was very comfortable, with a lovely garden overlooking the sea that was perfect for outdoor meals. Bakery, supermarkets, a few neighbourhood restaurants and sandy beaches all within walking distance -the nearest beach is about 10 minutes' walk with two more slightly further. Chania is a short bus ride away. Thomas was a charming and helpful host, who made us feel very welcome.

From the moment we booked to the moment we left we had an excellent experience. Giorgos is very responsive. We arrived to find the apartment was exactly as the photographs. The added bonus we found is that there is air conditioning in both of the bigger rooms, the washing machine is a bonus with plenty of space to dry clothes. The pool area is amazing with plenty of room in the pool to play volleyball and space to sunbathe or sit under some shade. We loved it as much in the daytime as in the evenings. The location is so peaceful with local beaches in easy walking distance. The sea is clear but water shoes help. Excellent masseuse nearby. We walked 15 mins to Gramvousa restaurant and others nearby. We enjoyed Breeze in Kissamos. We went to Balos via car (road can be seen from the balcony) and it was amazing though the walk back up was tough in heat. We loved Elafonisi beach and enjoyed the sunset there. We also enjoyed what Chania had to offer. We would recommend this place 100% to all

Beautiful Cretan style stone walls home with incredible scenery, close to the beach and surrounded by ancient olive groves.

Staying in Agios Nikolaos is usually more costly per night than most other places in Crete so we were really delighted that Dimitris's accommodation gave us all the things we were looking for whilst being within our budget. Dimitris was very welcoming with some useful extras & treats that helped get our stay underway. He showed us around the property and provided some great info on locations and tavernas worth visiting during our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable & the shower very modern, both things were important to us. The air conditioning was efficient & the garden & shared beach area [with the adjacent villa] was lovely. The bedroom & bathroom were slightly smaller than other places we've stayed on Crete, and if walking into the centre for an evening, the walk back when dark would be maybe a bit much [return taxi a better idea] though none of these detracted from our enjoyment. Overall we were very happy & would certainly recommend Dimitris's villa.

We had a fantastic stay at Seaside Villa Lavrys. The villa itself is spacious, well-maintained, and located in a peaceful area with a lovely view. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, but do keep in mind that you’ll need a car to get around as the location is a bit remote. Taxi transportation from Chania costs around €30. What truly made our experience special was our host, Alex. From the moment we booked, Alex was incredibly responsive and attentive, always available to answer any questions we had. He went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay, offering great local tips and assistance whenever needed. His kindness and willingness to help made a huge difference in our trip. Alex’s family was also very warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly stay in Crete, and Alex’s hospitality made it even better.
