Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Charles County

We had a very enjoyable stay at Dan and Scott's Sunnyside Up cottage. The cottage was immaculate, everything seemed new and crispy clean. All linens were top quality and abundant. The kitchen was well stocked with what you might need to do some light cooking. Perfect for us. The sitting area was cozy and entirely adequate for two people. The hosts provided a sweet touch with a small Christmas tree that you could see from the street, very welcoming and warm. Colonial Beach itself was a great discovery for us. We enjoyed walking along the water and in town. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We came for a quiet, restorative holiday and were not disappointed. Recommendations: stock up at the grocery on the edge of town, Sunflower restaurant is excellent, visit Magnolia Hall! What a nice establishment. We hope to return when the weather is a bit warmer but chilly was invigorating! Thank you, Scott and Dan for being such thoughtful and responsive hosts.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this charming vintage house. The decor was delightful, with furnishings and cozy touches that made it feel truly like a beach house. The location was perfect for a peaceful getaway, with a nice yard, walking distance to bay, restaurants and bars - highly recommend Dockside and the Tiki Bar! We enjoyed spending each night on the screened in porch relaxing. We arrived on the heels of the end of Hurricane Helene and Erin was proactive in letting us know that water had gotten in one of the doors. Everything was dry by the time we arrived, however, we did notice a slight musty smell upon entering, which was most likely due to all the rain they had received. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms stocked, kitchen is large and well-stocked. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quaint escape.

I stayed at Lin's Colonial Beach getaway for two months over the winter and I cannot recommend her guesthouse enough! Peaceful, private, and walking distance to both the water and local restaurants. Lin herself was the epitome of a gracious host, checking in to make sure my stay was perfect and even shoveling the walkway when it snowed. Whether you're staying for one night or a few weeks, this is the place to live.

The house was great for our holiday get together. It's in a great location for Southern Maryland. It was also fun to see the animals hosted there.

Host was very friendly, very responsive and very helpful. Place had expansive windows with beautiful views of the Potomac river and it was very relaxing to be there. Only complaint would be that some of the place was a bit dated, but that did not significantly impact the overall positive experience for us.

We had a wonderful time here! We came for a peaceful wintertime getaway to get out of DC for a long weekend. Matt provided instructions in advance so we had no issues accessing the space. The area is very quiet, the frozen river honestly looked beautiful from the porch, and the house was clean and well-maintained. We did not explore the area much because it was very cold, but the house was warm, cozy, and comfortable - exactly what we were looking for! We would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet weekend away.

In the last 6 years, this was by far the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The attention to every detail was amazing and very much appreciated. I highly recommend this place. The dogs loved the backyard and the walks by the river. The beach was great to walk on and close by.

If I were to stay in Occoquan again, The Farmhouse would be the place. Even if there is only 2 of us. The house with it's two master suites and tons of room was just so nice to have. So whether a family or a couple, it was plenty of room. It's older, but quaint. There are some modern updates that were very nice to have such as the bathrooms. The fact that it is right in the heart of Occoquan and you don't need a car to get around it, is great. Even though I'm local, in Woodbridge which is right next to Occoquan, I used it only for two nights as I prepared for my wedding, so it suited my purposes for that. I could see it being a great get away especially with the location and tons of things to do in Occoquan alone, but and still easy access to I95 right down the road.

This place could not be more perfect for our trip to DC. It was the perfect distance to the metro. Our group of 8 had so much space of our own, yet plenty of room to be together in the common spaces and not be on top of each other! We went in the coldest month of the year, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the best of what the outdoor areas had to offer but the views were breathtaking regardless. Melanie’s place was extremely clean and everything was provided and then some! Everyone in our group would like to go back in warmer months to spend more time outside. Before we got there, Melanie explained that there was an issue with one of the sinks in the cabins and said she would credit us accordingly. I thought that was great! It did not hinder or create a problem whatsoever! I hope we get to make it back sometime!
