Cabin holiday rentals in Central Otago District

Incredible location, and very easy check in and checkout process. Ellie came by daily to quickly tidy up which we greatly appreciated. Easily one of our favorite Airbnb’s we’ve stayed at!

Loved the peacefulness of your place! It is well located, close to many wineries, not far from Cromwell and half way between Wanaka and Queenstown if you’re after day trips. The outdoor bath is quite special under the stars 🥰, the view is really beautiful. Maybe one thing to mention is - it’s a uphill gravel road to get to the property. Thank you for having me!

We were looking for something between Queenstown and Mt Cook. Perfect location, very quiet, only surrounded by pines and farm land. The cabin is incredible! A very unique stay, made better with a pine cone fired hot tub. We absolutely loved this place.

I stayed in the Tiny House of Sally together with my wife and our little infant. We are so grateful for finding this little gem! It was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The house had everything we needed. Sally was very courteous and the area around is amazing. We will never forget this experience and of course we will also not forget Maggie! Fantastic dog lady! Absolutely loved my stay at Jillian's. The cottage was so beautiful and cozy with the fire going. Jillian really went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and relaxing, with comfy bedding, freshly baked bread and plenty of fire wood for the fire. Thank you so much for hosting me, couldn't recommend a place more. Would love to come back and visit in the future.

Nice little tiny house 10-15 min outside of Wanaka. We really enjoyed our private space. Shower was awesome and the bed is really comfi! When the sun is out it gets really hot in there, but there is a aircondition.

A lovely little cabin with gorgeous touches and everything was spotlessly clean. Suzie was very friendly and helpful. Lovely walk to the river nearby and the beautiful Hawea lake and township is only a 2 minute drive away.

We loved our stay as it had 5 separate family bedrooms with showers and a large kitchen and family room with a piano. This created a great mix of both private and shared spaces for our extended family and children. The house was reminiscent of a tramping hut with a long porch to relax on and was basic whilst having all we needed. This created a real holiday feel. We loved that it was so walking/biking distance to the lake and walking and cycling trails. All the family would be happy to go back and a great time was had by all.

We enjoyed staying at James' spacious yet cosy house. The beds were comfy and everything was clean when we arrived. The games and toys were much appreciated by my kids. James was very quick to respond and helpful. Would be happy to stay again.

Loved every moment of our stay. The cabin was clean, spacious and conveniently located walking distance from everything. It is evident great thought went into designing the cabin and value was placed on even the smallest of features (my favourite being the bathroom mirror). The interior was gorgeous, cosy and smelt delicious. My partner was in awe of the architecture and functioning of the cabin. I would love to return in the cooler months as we could imagine no better place to stay in winter then Walnut on Russel!

We had a fantastic two night stay. The accomodation is fabulous with lots of personal touches and the garden and surrounding area absolutely stunning. We envy other guests that managed to stay for much longer. We would love to stay again. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

A perfect place for two guys with mountain bikes. Very central, MTB tracks close by. Numerous Aviation movements made the experience of living at the air field memorable. Plenty of space to have, conversations with other guests staying in their cabins. Nigel has a wealth of local knowledge to share.

Stayed for 6 nights and would have loved to stay longer. The cabin was perfect in every way. Amenities, tasteful cabin design and great location. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to my friends and family.

Was a perfect place to stay while completing the Otago Rail Trail. Located at the halfway point. Also very peaceful and clean would recommend.

Spotless studio, looks even better in real life than the pictures. Very convenient kitchenette with a kettle, toaster and microwave. Only a small drive from Wānaka centre. Communication was great.

Leisa’s place is incredibly clean and well-stocked. She is super friendly and helpful and even provided some food supply in the fridge, including some fresh eggs. Thank you for your generosity and for letting us stay in your cottage Leisa.
