Holiday rentals with a kayak in Cascade Range

I would highly recommend this place! We had a wonderful time in Olalla. The house was beautiful, clean, and the views were amazing!

The location was incredible. beautiful view every morning, from the lake side, to bird watching. we'll worth the drive and money spent. the neighbors aren't sharing a fence with you, which allows for privacy, and the elevation change between the cabin and the road helps with battling the noise. A great retreat to get away from the stresses of life and to slow down a little.

Looked exactly like the pictures. Big place for the two of us, very quiet. I appreciate they had everything to make coffee and do some laundry as that isn’t stuff I would usually bring and it’s a pretty long drive round trip to town. We went in January, about 30F outside and it was certainly nice enough to hang out outside while the sun is up. Easy to get into, easy checkout, would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful, cozy stay! This house feels like a home in the best of ways. Very cozy fireplace, wonderful views of the lake and ducks swimming from the entire back of the house, plus above and beyond gestures of kindness from the host(s). I stayed here recovering from a medical procedure and was welcomed with a “get well soon” card. The house was spotless and full of natural light. Thank you again for the peaceful experience.

Beautiful and convenient location for our Victoria trip. Lake view and private dock was a bonus. We went during Thanksgiving so we appreciated the view and hot tub. Only complaint was the very limited cooking pans and pots

This place is magical! I truly felt like I was on a vacation where I could just stay put and not leave the property whatsoever. The views are to die for and the marine life was sublime! Hope to come back again. I took my 20 something daughters and they both felt the same way. They kayaked and were kids again examining all the seashells, crabs, etc.

I can’t say enough positive things about Michael and Jennifer’s home. It’s rare to find an Airbnb that exceeds expectations, and this one absolutely does! Beautiful home, gorgeous scenery. Exceptionally well stocked, especially in the kitchen. The hot tub was a huge hit for sunrises and late night star watching. The outdoor “toy” trailer with bikes, kayaks, etc was incredible and had something for everyone. They even had seasonally decorated for the fall season. This was such a special stay, one that we will remember for a lifetime. Thank you!

The cabin was even more impressive in person. I don't think the pictures give it justice! GPS led us to a road that is no longer in service but it was easy to turn around and figure it out. There are neighbors but they were very friendly. There were fresh flowers and a hand written thank you card!! The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of options for dishes, cookware, and spices. My kids and I enjoyed the nicely stocked coffee/cocoa station! We took the row boats out with the life jackets and paddles. Jay even had extra pairs of rubber boots and outerwear in the garage in case you forgot to bring yours! He left us with plenty of firewood and his yard was very spacious for my kids to enjoy when the tide was in. Tons of oysters and crabs and im sure clams. Great spot with great views!! I definitely recommend!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights over new year. It’s a beautiful location and the cottage maximises the amazing views with huge windows across the entire front of the property. It only sleeps 2, but is extremely spacious and well appointed. There’s nothing much nearby (eg shops and restaurants) but it’s a short drive into Ladysmith so we just stocked up and made good use of the kitchen and BBQ. It’s well worth it to be in such a peaceful and picturesque place. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay with Lynna and Dennis. The cottage was just as described, just steps from the waterfront and we enjoyed the private beaches and daily kayaking excursions from the dock. What a peaceful, beautiful and relaxing spot. My only regret is that we could not stay longer.... but we will, next time. Lynna provided very helpful instructions ahead of time about the ferry and reservations. The cottages are both charming and fully-equipped, very clean and everything was as-written. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, both in Westsound (a few) and more options in Eastsound and beyond. I'd highly recommend, and we're already planning our next trip back.

The house had amazing energy. I enjoyed it had been well loved and lived in by a family. Once my dog and I arrived, we did not leave. Read, sat in the sun on the back deck with a glass of Pinot Noir, built a fire to enjoy the bouncy shadows off the aesthetically pleasing space and made nutritious meals in a well stocked kitchen. I enjoyed the privacy of the property as it is tucked down away from neighbors and the road. Enjoyed the quality of the toiletries. Loved living plants being in the space. Byrdie loved watching her namesake- birds- fluttering in and out of the bushes. As a single traveler, I can't tell you how much I appreciate not needing to pay a pet fee. Seriously! The house was perfect for a trip in the winter and I can't imagine the fun during the summer months!

We are from the nearby area, but live and work in North Dakota. We usually stay with my sister when coming home, but we wanted something quiet and private this time for ourselves. Margo was very responsive and friendly. The place was as described and very cozy! We saved by eating a nice homemade breakfast every morning with the kitchen appliances and amenities and then having relaxing dinners with a movie! The place is near a tidal flat and we had many beautiful sunrises and sunsets as well as plenty of shorebirds and waterfowl for observing. Thank you, Margo, for a wonderful visit!

We loved our stay at Willow Cottage. The house was cozy and warm, the location was fantastic and Jennifer was incredibly friendly. Our family of four visited in late December and had a wonderful time reading by the fire, watching movies, hiking Turtleback Mountain, cooking and doing all the fun local activities. It was also a great place for our dog. We wondered whether the wifi would be strong enough to watch movies, but aside from a little pixelation, it was totally fine. We'd return in a heartbeat!

Our stay here was extremely cozy and fun. The location is great with the private beach and included amenities. Beverly made the whole process easy and was very communicative of any information or updates before our stay. If we are back in the area we would not hesitate to stay again.

Brenda and Tim had a beautiful guesthouse. We felt right at home, we got in late after a long flight, but Brenda made sure we could find the place at night and left a light on. So helpful! Beautiful flowers and fruit basket awaited us on check in. Beautiful property, very clean! Hope to be back over the years as I visit my new Granddaughter. Thank you for everything!

Wayne and Nanette’s love shack was just what my hubby and I were looking for to celebrate our Valentine’s ❤️ We loved the view of the lake and the surrounding peaceful nature. We had plans to go to the casino and out to dinner but instead we stayed in and cooked a delicious meal and dessert while listening to music on their incredible theater sound system. Hank also came down to see us which was a treat, he was so sweet and loved his back scratches lol We will definitely be back in the summer so we can utilize the lake and all the water toys they offer!!

If you are looking for the quintessential A-Frame Cabin experience, this is it. My girlfriend and I were here for her birthday and we spent every morning drinking coffee and watched a gorgeous sunrise over the water. 11/10 would recommend to anyone trying to get away.

This is such a magical place, and the location is absolutely beautiful! The cabin has everything that you need and then some. Lisa was such a kind host, we loved this spot very much!

We had a very pleasant and peaceful stay on the Sunshine Coast during an unusually snowy few days. Ashley’s cabin had everything we needed, and the hot tub was a great way to warm up! Overall, a good experience, and we appreciated the cozy atmosphere (and the large TV!) despite the cold weather.

The cabin was one of the best ones we’ve stayed at. It’s peaceful and cozy. Makes you forget about the city! The fireplace and glass patio were one of the highlights that we enjoyed, especially coming from a long day of skiing. It is an experience to stay at Rudy’s. Dave was a fantastic host and made sure we arrive in a warm place, had enough firewood and propane. We also enjoyed Zenji’s company. Highly recommend!

This place was absolutely awesome. It had everything that I was looking for. Tranquil, super cozy interior, amazing view, the perfect place to get away from the busy city. Thoroughly enjoyed the sauna and the hot tob and especially kayaking on the lake, a must do! If exploring Olympic national park, this place is a must stay, its perfectly located. 11/10 will visit again :)

What a lovely retreat our family had at Lake Cavanaugh! Candace's house was beautiful and comfortable, and the kitchen very well equipped. The outside space facing the lake felt suprisingly private, yet the views were broad. We really scored because we had clear nights, and a walk to the end of the private dock made for spectacular star gazing. This is a spot I won't forget. We hope to return soon!
