Family-friendly holiday rentals in Carmen Beach

This place was a gem! Location could not be better—right up the hill from tons of great restaurants, shops, and the beach. Easy to access with an ATV. Our taxi driver was not able to take us to the very top of the hill where the house is, so keep this in mind when booking your transportation to the house. We had an amazing stay, and the hosts were able to answer any questions we had promptly. The house has a gorgeous view of the ocean and sunset, the bed were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great in each bedroom. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to anyone staying in Santa Teresa!

Norman is the best host. Very communicative with excellent recommendations for our stay. His place is gorgeous and we would happily stay there again if Costa Rica weren't so far away. Loved our vacation, thank you!

This was a great place where we felt so lucky to have landed! The Villas are off the beaten path but still so close to everything in Samara town. We were thankful to be able to walk to and from the beach without having to spend much time on the busy town roads. The property is wonderfully maintained with beautiful landscaping. Our rental was furthest from the road and wonderfully private and quiet. We were delighted to be treated to so much space both inside and out. It included a large private covered patio with comfy furniture and a large dining table. Inside, the beds were all comfortable, the shower had plenty of pressure and warm water, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and clean up meals and there were 3 AC units that made our stay there totally comfortable.

Condo was very well equipped, grounds and resort were outstanding. We can't say enough how much we appreciated Randal's quick response and willingness to help when we had questions prior to arrival. We will definitely book again when we return to Costa Rica!

Great people, very friendly.

The setting was amazing! It was really cool to be so close to Montezuma and the area but have a peaceful jungle retreat to go to. The pool was wonderful for cooling off and watching the animals. We saw a great variety of birds, reptiles, and had howler monkeys come through. It was an incredible few days. Jodi reached out after first booking and was a very responsive host, she connected us with Leanne and Ron right away, and they could not have been nicer or more helpful with all our local questions, giving suggestions, recommendations and advice. This was a phenomenal portion of our trip!!

We loved Ruth’s home. The layout, while a little odd being separate was perfect for our family. The upstairs master was a quiet haven that we ended up loving. The pool, BBQ and kitchen were a great addition as was Doris. We didn’t follow the key rule and locked ourselves out one night and Doris so graciously came back to unlock the house for us. The monkeys, the quiet little town of Punta Islita and gym were also great additions. We loved our time at Casa de Agua.

I am a repeat guest at this property. I had wondered if my family and I would find the Villa as charming and relaxing as during our first visit, and I am pleased that was the case! What made it even more special was that this second visit was in a different season than the first, so the gorgeous Costa Rica flora and fauna presented new surprises and delights. How amazing to have close-up photos with a small band of Capuchin monkeys on this second visit -- just over the hill from the Villa's property. What was the same during the second stay was Cesar's excellent communication, the presentation and upkeep of the property, and the wonderful service and support of the caretaker, Hazel.

The place is really great and very remote, which of course is great for the peace it gives but getting there is a bit difficult. We didn’t had a 4x4 but I would recommend it. But the place is so nice surround by nature and wildlife. We had monkeys, birds and iguanas visiting. The kids loved it. The pool is absolute gorgeous and we used it constantly. Thanks for the nice stay.

Once you pass through the gates and out of the Santa Teresa traffic it is like you enter a different world. You have your own personal slice of Santa Teresa where you can enjoy yourself and be one with Nature. You are right on the beach and can listen to the waves crashing all night long. When you wake up the monkeys are snacking on the leaves of the trees above you. You will not be disappointed if you book this home. Pia is very responsive and the whole crew who help with maintaining this property are respectful and friendly. There are limited homes with beach access and your own property you don't have to share and this one stands out. We enjoyed our time here and if we come back to Santa Teresa we would 100% book again.

This Montezuma property is amazing. Bedrooms were so comfortable and everything was clean. The caretaker and the housekeepers were amazing, so nice and always very helpful and gave us privacy. Karen was amazing as well, very responsive to texts and checked up on us to make sure everything was ok. I’ve been to Costa Rica 3 times ands this trip by far was the best. We look forward to coming back again

Laurent’s house was exactly what my family was looking for our vacation in Santa Teresa. The views of the ocean were amazing. Highly recommend staying here! The pool was also fantastic.

Excellent accommodation, you can go to the beach walking, a beautiful beach... we definitely recommend it and would return.

The AirBnb was gorgeous and comfortable. We loved listening to the sounds of birds and also saw other animals. Michele was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent accommodation: spacious, clean and quiet; at a very convenient distance everything: beach, supermarkets and restaurants, and far from the noise of night activities. Dana and her assistant Maria were always attentive to our arrival, to resolve any situation and to provide us with the best recommendations. It was our first visit to Santa Teresa and we will definitely consider this place for the next time.

This is a magical place and we chose it as our wedding location. The lush garden, direct access to the beach and incredible sunset views were the most amazing combination to celebrate our special day. If you are planning something similar we highly recommend to ask the concierge for Courtney’s number (wedding planner). She created an absolute stunning event for this occasion, blending beach and garden into one incredible experience for us and our guests. The house gives you laid back beach vibes, is spacious and well maintained. The maintenance and cleaning team is super responsive. Big thank you to the property concierge Sophie, who is extremely responsive, helpful und resourceful, helping us to plan our full 10 day stay starting months in advance. To be fair to families: banana beach is just next door so you will hear some music around sunset, but nothing crazy that will bother you unless you have a toddler that you want to bring to bed early. Otherwise book without hesitation!!

Allegra’s place was amazing!! It was such a beautiful and comfortable home to be our base for exploring. Everything was clean and well appointed, with a great kitchen for cooking up meals when we didn’t want to eat out. Allegra had a welcome basket of fruit and a few amenities that were helpful after a long drive and ferry ride to get there. We used the pool and outdoor living space as much as we could, our daughter absolutely loved it! Would highly recommend and plan on coming back in the future!

We had an amazing time at this beautiful property! The house is stunning, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The pool was a highlight—clean, refreshing, and a great spot to unwind. One of the staff members even took us on a hike to a private swimming hole on the property, which was an unforgettable experience. The entire stay was peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a mix of adventure and tranquility!

We enjoyed our time so much at this accommodation, it was close to the hustle and bustle, but far enough that it was super peaceful! The hosts recommended great places to check out and communication was always good. Lots of shopping and opportunities for everyone. Beaches not overly busy and stunning! We even made a little furry cat friend who greeted us every morning and around dinner time, we named her Theresa and she is very welcoming. ☺️

Central location near beach. Nice and cozy. Pool was a plus! Christian, working in the property, was very helpful regarding any concerns.

this house was absolutely amazing. if you could dream of a perfect jungle house this would be it. You woke up to birds singing and howler monkeys, well, howling. Our first morning the monkeys came to visit and we sat in the pool watching, it was magical. Lars was so helpful when we checked in, he gave us lots of great food and activity recommendations and even came and helped when we got a visit from a very large spider.

We loved everything about the house and location. We hope to return!

The house is very spacious and has an amazing view. Dave was very kind to allow our family to visit us. Access is very difficult, you need a 4x4 car. There is no air conditioning, which made the first night very difficult, the heat was stifling, but it was our fault for not reading the specifications of the house. We solved it with a portable fan. It was beautiful to see the sunrise from the balcony and listen to the birds. We will be back soon.
