Holiday houses in Caniçal

We wanted somewhere away from the busy town centre but within easy bus reach, and this beautiful apartment exceeded our expectations. Although there's a road behind the block, once the door was shut we couldn't hear it and only had the soothing sound of the sea as we enjoyed the sunny balcony every day with breakfast. The pool was always available with no competition for the sun beds. We enjoyed and recommend Dona Nina restaurant, Monumental Grill and Island Wok all under five minutes walk away. Pingo Doce supermarket is also within a very short walk. With three organised trips into the hills plus using the regular buses and cable car, we were happier without a hire car. Mapy offers a free app with high quality downloadable maps of the island to plan your excursions. We very much hope to return to this excellent apartment. Thanks to Miguel and Victor.

Apartman has an excellent location and parking in the garage, 10 min to Funchal, 5 min to the beach. The apartment was clean, tidy, there is everything Elvio says in the description. Very flexible with Elvio, responds promptly. Thanks for a great stay 👍

We spent 20 days there and everything was perfect from start to finish. Maria and her husband were very helpful, generous with their advice, fruits from their vegetable garden and even cake:) We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the large vegetable garden and sublime sunsets. Everything inspires the calm and sweetness of life. Only happiness:) The location is really perfect: very beautiful beaches and hikes a short distance away and the small village of Arco de Calheta nearby is super pretty, We had the pleasure of attending a beautiful and friendly village party! Thanks for everything:)

What a wonderful way to spend Christmas with adult family. The home is large, well equipped and very comfortable. Communication with Marisela was very easy and she was very helpful. Everything was faultless. We went to Funchal on Christmas Eve saw the lovely lights and Christmas market and sampled Poncha (warning this is lethal). Christmas Day we used the BBQ at the basement level for our meal, watched the sunset and played games (darts, table tennis and pool) - is a wonderful space for keeping everyone entertained. But in quiet times we looked at the lovely views from the balconies and read books. We found many excellent sights to see on the island including Whale and Dolphin watching from Calheta beach (highly recommend). Sadly we were all unwell (virus) during some of our stay and didn't do all of the trips we planned, so that means we will be returning ....Hopefully soon!

Stayed here with Family and had a great time, location is perfect and the roof top is such a great place to hang out in the evenings!

It's a good place, well-equipped, and clean. A bit far from the main attractions, so be prepared for a longer walk.

The apartment and the view are much nicer in real than the pictures. Very cozy apartment and the hosts are very likeable. We recommend the place to anyone who wants to have a breathtaking view and picturesque sunsets. In addition, the communication was friendly and we quickly felt at home. Kitchen is well equipped and bathroom as well.

The house is in a very elevated and private location. Great if you want a peaceful relaxing stay. The roads to the area are very steep and you have to park about 100m away at the bottom of the hill by the school. There are 2 small bars in walking distance and access to levada walks. The view from the terrace is spectacular and gets the sun until early evening.

Very nice place in a lovely small village. The apartment is great and the garden is peaceful. We loved the fresh hurbs and salad in the kitchen garden. The barbeque area is a little worn down and is shared, so we didnt use it. The host are super friendly and helpful. I can recomend this place!

The place is superb located. It offers a lot of space and fantastic view. There is a roof-tarace available. Corina is super responsive and helped us with a lot of things (renting a car, taxi reservation etc). Highly recommended.

Susana’s place was truly so beautiful. It was a great place for a group of 4! Susana was very communicative! Would highly recommend!
