Holiday rentals with lake access in Candlewood Lake

Michael and Ivy met us at check in and were so sweet to show us around. Their home is even lovelier in person! We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace, record player, as well as all their thoughtful and personal touches. It felt like home during the winter weekend we spent there, and can’t wait to come back in the summer.

This place was a breath of fresh air. I've noticed a trend on AirBNB of rentals that are obviously flipped investment properties with no character and no evidence of life: this place is the opposite! Charming, comfortable, with hosts who actually know the area and live in the area. This is a great family option when visiting the surrounding Hudson Valley towns. I hope I can get back here soon!

We couldn’t have picked a better home to spend Thanksgiving in! The house was absolutely perfect—spacious, modern, and comfortable, with the most stunning, private views of the lake. Waking up to those breathtaking views every morning made our holiday extra special. Malik was incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating every step of the way, ensuring our stay was seamless and enjoyable. The home felt like the perfect retreat, and we’re so grateful for the experience. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

John & Laurie’s home was warm and inviting for our group’s New Years holiday. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine and a well stocked kitchen. We weren’t able to make use of the lake because it was January but enjoyed walks around the property and the incredible bird sightings ! Bedrooms were cozy and the home is clean and well sized for a big group. Thanks so much !

Anne Marie's place was exactly what we were looking for! It is extremely well stocked, with everything you might need, from kitchen appliances, extra blankets, many towels, etc. The surroundings were gorgeous and the area is very quiet and peaceful. Anne Marie was friendly and very responsive, answering questions quickly and flexibly. We can't wait to come back!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Gaby's home. Unlike many Airbnb hosts who design their spaces to feel like generic hotels, Gaby’s place radiated warmth, personality, and charm. It felt like a home that had been truly lived in and loved, with thoughtful, personal touches like family photos, unique art, and an impressive collection of books that added so much character. Gaby herself was an incredible host—always responsive, friendly, and approachable. She’s the kind of person I'd love to sit down and chat with. The setting was absolutely stunning. We had snow, the lake was frozen, and the wintry view was really peaceful. The abundance of wildlife made it even more special—we spotted deer, bald eagles, a couple of foxes who visited every morning, and even a bobcat prancing around the house one evening. We also love to cook, and Gaby’s kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to play chef If you’re looking for an authentic and unforgettable Airbnb experience

The description of the home was exactly what we experienced. It was very peaceful. And in a naturally beautiful area. We truly enjoyed our time there.

My fiancé, our dog, and I stayed here for a quiet NYE staycation. We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it. The space was very clean and accurate to the pictures posted on the listing. There was another family with a dog who was staying in the main house at the same time we were, however, we never really heard them. Our favorite part was the bottle of red wine from Millbrook Winery left on the kitchen table for us. We always appreciate a personal touch from an Airbnb hose! We hope to be back soon!

We loved staying at this studio apartment. It was a great location, close to Hyde park and rhinebeck. Great restaurants and towns for shopping. The host was responsive, helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and had all the extras you may need.

Spacios and quite even a nice backyard for summer weathers. Access to kitchen accessories plus nice a cozy. Overall was a very well and clean place.

We only had a short stay, but John was a great help letting us check in early - they clearly love their home and the town, offering annotated menus of local restaurants and info on many natural features to visit in the area. Delightful decor, many many plants, plenty of linens available, no shortage of room to lounge and relax. Parking was a cinch, checkout directions were clear and simple. Would stay again.

This was just what I needed for my first trip to Mohegan Lake! Quiet neighborhood. Cozy bed. Great water pressure. I’ll definitely be booking again if I come back to this cute little town.

Ricardo’s place was truly incredible. It’s such a cozy, clean and convenient spot located in a very good area. Had everything you need and have a very home-like feel. I was visiting my girlfriend for our anniversary and the weather wasn’t the greatest outside but that didn’t bother us one bit. We were comfortable cooking and eating at home and we had everything to make that happen. Ricardo and his wife were so kind and flexible with us. We would love to come back in the summertime and fully enjoy their spot again because there are great views in the backyard by the water. Well worth the price of admission. The area was absolutely beautiful. Valhalla Lake was private with stunning views. The cabin was exactly as it was described and the book of directions that was left for guidance was easy to follow.

Absolutely spectacular experience. Wylda was a wonderful host, providing us with all the information we could possibly need about her space and the surrounding area. The Airbnb itself was adorable and quirky, with every little detail well-designed. We kept discovering fun tchotchkes and interesting pieces of art throughout our weekend there. Loved the fireplace, the full kitchen, the chessboard, and the zero gravity chair. The nearby lake and woods were lovely as well. We felt very at peace and very comfortable. Would love to stay there again!

Another Perfect Stay in Morris, Connecticut! We had our third wonderful experience staying at Kevin’s place in Morris! The home was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. The furnishings were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Litchfield County. The location was perfect – quiet and peaceful, yet close to local attractions, hiking spots, and charming nearby towns. We really enjoyed the easy access to nature trails and the serene atmosphere of the area. Kevin was a fantastic host, providing great communication and helpful tips about the area. We can’t recommend this place enough – a true gem in Morris!

Stayed at Adam and Nicole’s place for two nights while attending a festival nearby. Was a good size for myself, my daughter and a friend. The place itself is adorable and comfortable. Like staying in the three bears house in the woods with wifi, and gorgeous private wooded backyard and view to the lake across the road. The upstairs was a little stagnant upon arrival, but we opened the windows and put the fans on, which made it much better for sleeping at night. The house book and notes were very helpful. Kitchen and bathroom clean and well stocked! Loved it! Best of all, the hosts were accommodating and communicative. 🥰

We loved the view out to the lake, which was different every day and throughout the day. The open layout of the house is great to enjoy the views, and if the weather is nice, there are great sitting areas outside as well. The house is well-stocked and cozy. The hosts are friendly and always responsive. There are also great parks to visit nearby. We had a great winter weekend and would love to stay again.

Chris’ place was immaculately decorated and felt peaceful! Beautiful spot right on the pristine lake, foliage being in peak season definitely made things even better. Close to fun fall towns like Sleepy Hollow and Cold Spring, but honestly could just spend every minute relaxing at the well-stocked home. You can tell Chris and his family take pride in their home and are happy to share it to price the best experience for their guests. Chris was quick to respond if needed and went out of his way to make a trip quickly to ensure we were properly taken care of at the home. 10/10 - would recommend!
