Butterfly Cottage Sunbird Hill, Kibale Forest edge

DanielRating, 5 stars43 months ago
Butterfly cottage is truly idyllic. Set within the forest with tremendous bird life all around. Easy access to knowledgeable local folks who can guide you on wonderful nature walks through the property. Less than 10 minutes from the starting point of Uganda's finest Chimp tracking location and there are a number of beautiful crater lakes nearby. Bigodi swamp and Town are also close and interesting excursions. The property owner is extremely pleasant and helpful Highly recommended for nature loves visiting this part of Uganda.

Lake Kerere Cottage

HannahRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We stayed at the cottage for three nights. The surrounding village is not very rich and consists mainly of farmers families with little land to nourish their big families. Nevertheless, the people there are welcoming and curious. The cottage itself was nice and clean and the view in the morning was breathtaking to me. Be aware, you need to cook for yourself and I would recommend doing the main part of the groceries outside of the village since the choice there is rather limited. If we needed help with anything Godeth (one of two helpers of the cottage) was always nearby and of big help. He was friendly and could tell us interesting stories about the people of the village and his view of Uganda - we really enjoyed chatting with him. If I had to recommend a place to stay in Uganda - so far this would be the first one to come to my mind.

The Dream Experience Lodge - Support an Orphanage

HannahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
It was easy to go to Queen Elisabeth National Park from there. The host can help you arrange the trip there. There was hot and running water. The Wi-Fi works well. There are smaller shops nearby and the town Kasese nearby has everything you need (restaurants, supermarkets) and the town can be reached in about 10 minutes by Boda boda or car. The host is very nice and you may also join him to see the orphanage. Only downsides: it is a little bit dark inside (but you won't stay there much anyways because there is enaugh to do in the surroundings) and you should try to keep moskitos outside at night by not turning on the light and leaving the door open at the same time 🤗 We had a great stay and would come again.

Baranko Villa

NoraRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We stayed for almost a week with my three children and my mother-in-law, and it was absolutely wonderful. The three staff members who took care of the house were incredibly kind, professional, and maintained excellent communication. They were relaxed yet highly professional in their work, especially when preparing meals. The place was perfectly suited to my mother-in-law, who had difficulty walking, but she was able to enjoy breathtaking views every single day—far more beautiful than what the photos show. My three children fully embraced the local environment. We even arranged a football match with training at a nearby school, and we swam in the lake every day, using a small boat, which added to the fun.

BLT Residence - Kasese A serene and tranquil home

RodneyRating, 5 stars5 months ago
BLT residence is a lovely place, and there are many reasons to want to stay there again. I spent three nights there, in the beautiful home set in the foothills of Mount Rwenzori, with my wife and three young sons. The boys immediately felt at home, running through the landscaped garden and, later, asking if we could stay longer. The place is looked after by a kind caretaker who was very responsive and answered our questions or helped us get things we needed to buy from a nearby shop. Della herself was very responsive from the beginning. The home is located near Rwenzori Founders, a world-famous art center and sculpture gallery. I strongly recommend this property to travelers visiting the Rwenzori region, especially to those traveling as a small group. There is no home in Kasese that’s more tranquil — and more affordable — than BLT residence.
