This was my 3rd stay at the accommodation. It was very homey and very close to all the essentials. The house itself was so clean and had all the things you need for a great stay. The host was very proactive and left some recommendations of what to do in the town.

Kirsty's place was absolutely gorgeous. it is spacious, clean, with an extremely comfortable bed, private and fabulous location. The pool was an absolute bonus and very much appreciated. I highly recommend this placecand Kirsty was gorgeous to deal with and the perfect host.

The train carriage is brilliant! The farm is peaceful and only an hours drive to Albany and Denmark. Such a great place to use as a home base for exploring the surrounding areas. Chez was a lovely host and we can’t wait to stay again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this little 1930’s house full of character. Nicely appointed and warm, sunny and comfortable. The yard added to the feel of the place with its little ‘nooks and crannies’ and privacy. Situated only a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Enjoyed the little town of Mt Barker with an ease of access to the coast and the Stirling Ranges. Was all that we expected and hoped for.

Thanks you Ellen, We Had the most amazing peaceful getaway at the quaint and beautiful Yardup cottage, very serene surroundings, beautiful views and so close to Bluff knoll for our hike The cottage is very welcoming and comfortable and we loved having a walk around the farm Ellen was a great host and gave lots of advice and information into local amenities and sights to visit, Definitely value for money, would love to visit again in the future x

Description and photos of the place doesn’t do it justice. Spectacular view, warm and welcoming host, and just the perfect place to get away from it all. I don’t want to hype the place us too much as I selfishly want it to be available for my next trip, but unfortunately cannot fault any part of our stay. Will be booking well in advance to make sure we have this experience again.

Stumbling upon Happy Valley Farm Cottage was an absolute delight! Our stay may have been brief, but it left a lasting impression—we've already recommended it to others and will continue to do so. The cottage itself is utterly charming, with thoughtful touches from our host, Kylie, that made all the difference. From the fresh eggs to the homemade biscuits, every detail was a warm and welcoming gesture. Immaculately maintained, the cottage offered a peaceful retreat. Though our visit was short, we appreciated the selection of books and games Kylie thoughtfully provided for moments of relaxation. Thank you, Kylie! We can’t wait to return.

well if you want a Airbnb break between Perth and Albany or visa versa then you can't between this place. Though Darkan does not have much to offer and externally this place might not look attractive, Caro has modernised the interior including the furnishings, and fittings/accessories and provided some extras to make your stay very comfortable. Note Darkan roadhouse has a cafe/kitchen serving a variety of food and there is a small supermarket.
