Our stay at the cottage was lovely! The place is remote and private in the best way and very warm and cozy. It’s near to some quaint old towns and a close drive to Frederick. We would highly recommend a stay here!

What a perfect place to spend a peaceful weekend. Ally is a fabulous host and the space was exactly what I expected from the pictures (and more). I would love to come back in the summer and stay but the winter wonderland was absolutely divine. Thanks for the perfect stay!

Margie was great. She introduced herself to my son and I right when we got there. The accommodations were excellent. Beds were super comfy and everything was very clean. House sits right on a small lake in a very nice neighborhood.

We absolutely loved our stay! Appreciated the early check-in and later afternoon check-out. The house was very eclectically decorated which made for a welcoming, fun and cozy atmosphere. We would most definitely recommend, especially if you're visiting Harper's Ferry.

What a beautiful cabin! It was perfect for our relaxing friend weekend. The furniture and beds are comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with everything you could need, and the fireplace was delightful on the cold winter days. We especially enjoyed the coffee station! We really enjoyed our stay.

This is an excellent place to rent! The views are gorgeous, right on the lake. It’s exactly as described. The perfect getaway cabin, extremely comfortable and peaceful. We are really hoping to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake more. The host is very responsive and helpful and has a great system for communicating. It’s definitely a cabin- the walls are thin and it has a rustic feel- but it’s as pictured and extremely comfortable and nice. We loved it!

Quaint yet gorgeous cabin surrounded by serenity in nature. Can’t recommend highly enough as it’s my second time going in the past year!

The Gayte House is such a magical oasis!! I loved everything about it—the historic building that was oozing in charm, the modern amenities and comfortable accommodations, and of course being right in the middle of historic Harper’s Ferry. And it was extremely dog friendly, including a peep hole in the fence, where my dog could safely watch everything happening on the street. Dean was a great host—he even let us check in early to help accommodate my work schedule. I’d highly recommend the Gayte House, and I’ll definitely try to book it again next time I’m in the area. It’s one of my favorite AirB&Bs that I’ve ever stayed in. (And I’ve stayed in more than I can count, thought the country).

Listen. If you need somewhere to wait out a winter ice storm, with kind and accommodating hosts, and hands down the BEST milk frother you’ll ever use, this is the place. Several friends and I, foolishly, planned our trip during a projected winter storm. On our last full day in the place, it snowed for most of the day. I tried to leave to get ahead of the inevitable ice that would form in the night, and my car couldn’t grip the snow. Santos came out and helped push my car to help me get back to the driveway, and told us to take as long as we needed for checkout the next day. The next day, due to this grace on check out, we were able to wait for the sun to melt some ice, and managed to be on our way. Throughout the stress of figuring out the weather, the home was an adorable and cozy point of comfort, the hosts were so kind, and the milk frother was the greatest one we had ever used. The rest of the house was wonderful too, but we just REALLY loved that milk frother. Come try it!

We couldn’t have had a better stay. Kevin was an excellent host and extremely understanding when we had unexpected trouble getting off the mountain on the day of checkout due to snow. The listing is very accurate. The roads are easily passable with a v4 engine/not all wheel drive, but if there is ice/snow, either be prepared to hunker down or come ready. We did not have snow tires and eventually did okay. The location is BEAUTIFUL. A dream come true. We loved everything about our stay, even our unexpected slip & slide down the mountain! Couldn’t have asked for a better time!
