Wow is the best word I can think of to describe this magical cabin. A little on the remote site but still next to a small town with a gas station and a small market, this place is the place to book if you’re looking to get away and be in nature. My friend and I went in the middle of winter and you definitely need an AWD vehicle and snow tires. Also bring some shoe spikes for the ice lol it was a little difficult getting our things up and down the hill but my goodness it was so worth the effort. The beds were so comfortable and warm and the entire place felt really comfortable and homey without being cluttered. I would recommend either light on the luggage or come during the summer months to avoid the trek up and down the hill. Thank you again!! Till next time 😄🙏🏼

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have additional amenities to use, particularly a washer and dryer. Our favorite part was the hot tub! We would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect. The hostesses met us when we arrived, gave us instructions on things they wanted us to make sure we knew (for safety and such due to the temperatures), and spent around 2 hours giving us a tour and history of the house. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and they were so thoughtful with all of their recommendations for activities with our children. We 100% recommend this house to others and we will be coming back in the future!

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great spot for a large group hoping to see the Northern Lights and get to south Iceland!

It is a beautiful cabin in the middle of nowhere. It was farther than we had home to items we wanted to see. However, the setting was quiet and secure, one could not hear any traffic. The only downside was the Jaquzzi didnot heat up and kept flipping the breaker. We were never able to use or enjoy it. We did reach out to Hafsteinn he tried to help us get it working, but it never did. That was the reason for choosing this location.

A really lovely, homely place to stay. Very convenient for the Golden Circle yet tucked away in a lovely peaceful location. Fantastic to sit in the hot tub at the end of a busy day.

WOW! That is the best description of Geirthruder's place. Maybe even more perfect than the photos. A perfect location to easily check out the Golden Circle The layout of her house is great with the living area dividing the two bedroom areas. Easy entrance, over-the-top kitchen, cozy woodburning fireplace, presitine in every way.... and THE VIEW!!! And the quiet!!! We cooked a good bit, just for fun. There is an amazing food market just a few minutes away (which was a highlight of our stay), Little Farmers Market. Staying at Geirthrudur's is a must!!!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Rut and her husband were incredibly kind, warm, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The accommodation was clean, well-equipped, and felt like a true home away from home. Every detail was thought of to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a perfect and quiet getaway. My third time staying at this cabin and couldn’t be happier. As Always a friendly and quick check in. Even though we came slightly earlier they promptly to receive us at the cabin. The place is super clean, peaceful surroundings and private. We were able the see the northern lights from the garden. It’s always a pleasure to be there and hopefully will back the fourth time.

Our stay at this house in Reykholt was absolutely incredible. The property is modern, warm and thoughtfully designed, set against a backdrop of stunning Icelandic scenery. It felt like a true winter wonderland, the children had an amazing time playing outside in the snow. The location is perfect for witnessing the northern lights – we were lucky enough to catch them on multiple nights, which was a magical experience. The hot tub was a standout feature: it was efficient, easy to fill and empty and provided the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The hosts were exceptional, providing clear and detailed instructions to make our stay seamless. They were also very accommodating, kindly allowing us a late check-out. Overall, this house exceeded all our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Iceland.

excellent location on the golden circle. we stayed there one night and really appreciated the clean space with lots of attention to small details. would definitely come back
