Cabin holiday rentals in Birch Lake

We visited from Iowa in hopes of finding snow. Crazy right? I hope someday we can return to the area and cabin. This is a magical place. It’s so quiet and peaceful at night outside from the deck. And we were very grateful for 5” or so of snow! Everyone was incredibly friendly around the area. We ventured out in the cold to explore and enjoyed it. The cabin is so warm and cozy. It’s as if you packed up your own home and moved in. They have it all! A hot tub while the snow is falling? Hellooo. Luckily (I kid I kid, ha ha) we don’t have kids, but if we did, we’d send them out to the heated game room. Comfy beds and furniture too! And some places definitely do not. Very grateful there was a shovel!

We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing off the dock (caught a nice sized large mouth bass & panfish) and boating. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak and screened in porch. We used the fire pit one night before the mosquitoes came out. We didn’t use the hot tub. We rented a pontoon from Brett at Island View Resort. He also sold bait, gas and a map of the lake with tips for fishing the lake. We caught crappies, bass, panfish and northern. The bunkhouse was prefect for our two boys. Our daughter enjoyed the loft room. It was nice that there were 2 fans. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked having a large electric skillet. Didn’t use the washing machine except for washing the towels before we checked out. The beds were comfortable. We also liked the large dining room table -used it to play games in the evening. We’d definitely recommend getting peanut butter twists from Pattens restaurant in Orr. It was a very relaxing vacation. We’d definitely rent it again.

This cabin was wonderful. It fulfilled our needs while we were visiting family in the area. Location on the lake provided some beautiful sunsets. The host was great for communication. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was an amazing place. A cabin in the middle of a winter wonderland. I never had an Airbnb stocked as good as this one. This place has Charme, is spacious and the beds are comfortable. It even had a garage - so we didn’t have to scrape snow off the car in the morning. The hot tub felt amazing at -18F outside. Thank you. It was a great stay

Great 2 night stay. Very comfortable and clean accommodations, with nice esthetics. Especially enjoyed the deck outside in the morning and evening. Quiet, peaceful location.

The cabin is a lovely hide-out from the world with lake views, roaming deer, privacy, a hot tub, and enough space to spread out and feel at home. The owners thought of every detail to make their guests comfortable. If you are looking for a place to pamper yourself, do fun activities around Ely, and reconnect with nature, this is the place for you! We appreciated how easy it was to get in, find what we needed, and focus on our trip.

Excellent place to retreat for a fun and relaxing weekend. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook meals. The sauna is an awesome addition to help with relaxation. Extremely beautiful area and the cabin is right on the lake. David was super helpful and always very responsive. Definitely recommend.

We had such a wonderful getaway staying at Anne & Daryl’s cabin! It was so warm and cozy with the gas fireplace, and the cabin was absolutely spotless when we arrived. With very comfortable furniture, we honestly felt right at home. The cabin is feet from the water which made ice fishing very accessible. Anne was very responsive and offered us to use a pack and play for our newborn for the weekend which was super thoughtful and handy. We’d highly recommend this cabin if you’re looking to get away, relax and enjoy the outdoors!

We wanted to spend some downtime in the north woods after the holidays, and the tiny house was exactly what we were looking for! The kitchen was well-stocked and everything was just perfect. Reading, eating, sleeping, relaxing in the sauna, and just taking in the beautiful wintry surroundings was so peaceful. Saw lots of wildlife, including a resident red fox. It was also close enough to Bayfield to check out local restaurants and bookstores, and take the ferry to Madeline Island.

We stayed at John's place in the winter, and it exceeded our expectations. The place was clean and well-stocked. Running the log stove and sauna were a must, as they were the only way to stay warm. We saw a wolf and many other wildlife during our stay. Snowshoeing on the nearby lakes were a highlight. The trails marked by Dave were easy to follow, along with the maps they provided. If you are looking for a peaceful trip surrounded by nature, you found the right place! Thanks to John and Dave for being so helpful and responsive.

Stayed here with two of my girlfriend's for a little retreat and we absolutely loved it! Cute cabin with land & river to explore plus it's still relatively close to town and other North Shore attractions, definitely a great home base. I plan on coming back and bringing my boyfriend to try our hand at some trout fishing in April, I think he'll absolutely love it here as well. Great space to disconnect and reconnect with friends and nature. We appreciated the almost 3 in. of snow that saw us out as it allowed us some extra time to bask in the space, although we wish it came a day earlier so we could've tried out the snowshoes, but nonetheless we had a great time. Thank you again Brien & Shelley, I will definitely be singing my praises of your place to all my family & friends!

We were very pleased with our stay. The cabin is adorable with plenty of space around it. After reading a few reviews about the train tracks being so close I was a little concerned about safety and noise. Once we arrived I noticed that safety was not an issue as a river (stream) is located between the property and the tracks. The train runs through frequently but it didn't have a negative impact on our stay and we live in the country with no trains. Randy was very pleasant to work with and I can't say enough good things about our stay. it was a perfect fit!

We had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway! We drove up from Mississippi for a white Christmas and spent most of our time ice skating on the lake, reading, and playing board games. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation: books, games, puzzles, the lake, even extra dog bags for clean up. My oldest went ice fishing a few times. As an amateur baker, I loved that the kitchen had things like bread pans, a pastry blender, a dough scraper, etc. It made the Christmas and New Year’s baking of delicious breads and desserts much easier. Highly recommend and considering another stay this summer!

Our young kids had so much fun! The highlights for them were definitely the swing set and the boat rental.

We decided to try out Crane Lake for our yearly fishing trip; we had a blast!! Emily was a great host! Recommendations on where to get fishing boats from and was very fast to respond to any and all of our questions. The trip up to Kettle Falls was a lot of fun and just amazed how much water there is and how much there is to explore. We stayed for five days and didn’t even make a dent in exploding of all the water, and we were out for 8-10ish hours fishing every day! The house was great! So peaceful and relaxing to sit outside and watch all the bald eagles and other wildlife. The stars are amazing when you have a clear sky. Everyone is so friendly all around the lake. We will definitely make the long trip back up to explore more of the lake and get more fishing time in on the lakes!! Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful experience!! 😊😊

Our family REALLY enjoyed ourselves in Kami & Matthew's cabin! We had set our sights on a location that was a bit more remote, cozy but spacious enough for our family of 4, while tucked away in a winter wonderland and beautiful surroundings. We got all of these things in one (except for the snow part which was unfortunate, but hard to control)! The layout of the cabin was perfect and the location was really great, and we all loved just enjoying the place in a relaxed tempo. We would highly recommend this wonderful spot and would definitely not mind coming back when there's more snow :-)

A beautiful cabin for a winter weekend retreat with amazing surroundings and lots of privacy. Appreciated the heads-up regarding need for 4 wheel drive in the winter-- was easy going with our Jeep. The cabin itself was awesome and we stayed nice and cozy with the stove fireplace. Beautiful hiking just a mile away! We will definitely stay again!

The stay here at Blueberry Cottage was truly a beautiful place to have a little R&R. Take the a little trail straight to the sandy beach to see Siskiwit Bay. With this property being pet friendly right by the water was truly a win win scenario! Not to mention those gorgeous windows taking everything in. Lacey was a terrific host! Kept me informed when there was weather coming through and had back up plans in case we needed to pivot and choose a different property to stay. The consideration and open communication made me feel at ease and while I didn’t need any assistance knowing she was a message away was incredibly reassuring. 5 out of 5!

This was a great little cabin for our kid free weekend away! They had everything in the kitchen you could need to cook meals. It’s tucked into the woods so it’s private and it’s just what we were looking for. It was clean and we had a great experience! Derek was quick and responsive when an issue came up.

We were looking forward to a peaceful getaway and this cabin exceeded expectations! Loved the spa area ❤️ Beautiful location, cabin and so much wildlife to appreciate! It’s worth noting that we had a slight hiccup during our stay but Shirin and Frank were so incredibly responsive, helpful and generous in return. It’s obvious they genuinely care and ensure their guests are taken care of. We can’t wait to come back for another fun getaway! 🌲 🦌 🌲

It was a very well laid out two bedroom cabin. They provided ample towels, blankets, pillows and everything felt clean and comfortable. Their swing next to the lake was our favorite to watch the sun go down and have coffee in the morning. There is a nice fire ring with plenty of kindling and firewood provided! (So nice). The sauna worked well and was easy to use and warms up really fast. It was a wonderful stay, peaceful, quiet, and it felt private. We will be back for sure!!

My husband and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway. It was such a cute cabin! All the extras that they provided were so nice! Even though we brought our own hair and body wash, they had some for people who might forget. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels. The bed was also pretty comfortable! It always sucks when you get terrible sleep on a vacay. Having all of the kitchen pots and pans was so nice since there really isn't anywhere to eat around there. The only thing that I critiqued was that there weren't blinds on all of the windows. especially the sliding door. we are scared city people. haha The snack basket on the kitchen table was such a thoughtful gesture. The really have thought of pretty much everything. We would definitely be back.
