Lovely place to stay. We booked very last minute after new year and arrived within three hours of booking. Lisa had the place all ready and even some juice and milk in the fridge. She was great at communicating when needed during our stay but left us to enjoy it which we appreciated. The place is spacious and homey and the hot tub is perfect. The area is great with lots of walks and pubs and plenty to do.

When we read 'cosy' on the description, we did not know that we would really put this to the test on a very stormy December weekend. Our group of 7 spanned 3 generations and with a constant force 6, granny was very comfortable in the shelter of the house. The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms is ideal for groups not normally billeted together, the very solid construction useful with the kids charging around and others resting. The bonus in the bad weather was the fabulous waterfalls in full flow all a stone's throw from the house. Hardraw especially awesome testing our waterproofs even though the rain wasn't falling (the Green Dragon pub's fire providing the antidote) and the kids loved the Archimedes screw at Bainbridge wizzing. Moments of just too much rain we spent with Wallace and Gromit in the cheese factory a very short walk from the house. The shops in Hawes sold all we needed for cooking and we made the very most of our Wensleydale trip, highly recommended

If peace and quiet, amazing scenery and great walks are what you’re looking for then this is the cottage for you. Sedbusk is a picturesque village in the Yorkshire Dales. There are walks from the cottage in all directions. The house is very well equipped and very warm and cosy. Shops and pubs are a short five minute drive away in Hawes. We had a lovely stay over New Year but I bet it’s also amazing in summer.

Easiest review to write, two words... Absolutely Stunning! Pool table provided entertainment and a hot tub to relax in. The local pub provided lovely homely food and the view from the garden was just sublime.

Lovely, clean, spacious lodge in a lovely setting with a perfectly placed hot tub. The lodge meet all our requirements. Plenty of storage space, extra bedding provided and all the essentials. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we felt at home from the day we arrived. The cottage was perfect for our extended stay (a month) and we will fondly remember our time in the cottage, Frosterley and the Weardale and North Pennines area. Our hosts were very friendly, laid back and made us feel wonderfully relaxed during our stay. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well appointed and ideal for our needs. We would definitely recommend River View Cottage and the other accommodation in the courtyard to family and friends and we would definitely consider returning in the future for another break.
